With wood beams throughout, the open plan living space of Rose Cottage is a welcoming and pretty gathering space. Upstairs the double bedroom boasts an impressive four poster double bed, whilst the bathroom with shower over bath is perfect for relaxing in at the end of a busy day exploring the local area.
Guests are welcome to walk in the fields surrounding the farm where red squirrels often visit, as well offering excellent bird watching. This 500-acre farm is set in an AONB, with walks from the door plus superb fell walking nearby. There is tennis, riding and golf, as well as good fishing locally. Keswick stands on the shores of Derwent Water and is an excellent base to explore delightful Borrowdale. In the town itself are many interesting shops, inns and restaurants, as well as a leisure pool. Just 6 miles away is Bassenthwaite Lake with a variety of water sports and the Lakeland Wildlife Park. The pretty village of Caldbeck is 4 miles, with a restaurant, tea rooms and shops. Maes Gallery and tea rooms serving food daily is within 2 miles. Uldale is 2 miles with a pub serving good food, and Ireby is 1½ miles away with a cosy pub with log fire and good food. Shop 4 miles.
