Comfort in the stable
A lovely greeting from our hosts, in whose large garden the stables is situated. Great conversion from stables to two level accommodation. Beautifully presented and very clean. Situated in a village with a community shop, a cafe and two pubs, where everyone was very friendly.

Lovely house, beautiful village
We came for Hay festival, it was an easy journey of about 30 mins. The Stables is a relaxing place to stay, well equipped and with beautiful views onto the gardens. This is such a lovely part of the world. Hosts are very friendly.

We were delighted with our stay in this very special house in its very special village.
We were delighted with our stay in this very special house in its very special village. Our host, the owner Albert, who lives in the old vicarage, in whose grounds the Stables are located, welcomed us warmly and made us feel instantly at home. He has great, justified, pride in his own home, the Stables themselves, and the gorgeous grounds surrounding them both. The Stables is (are?) literally an old converted stable, beautifully refurbished, with a large downstairs dining/kitchen area and two spacious bedrooms upstairs. The amenities are all that you would expect, with the views of the superbly maintained and extensive gardens adding significantly to the pleasure of staying there. Eardisfield itself is a pleasant, typically English village, centred around a canal and the River Arrow, beside which are attractively arranged an ancient dovecote, a medieval moat, and, of course, the church. The village has a strong community feel. Apparently, it forms part of the famous black and white buildings tour and you can see why, with many examples of ancient buildings of this kind. I found several interesting paths, in and around the village, for my morning constitutional. The well-stocked village shop, run by volunteers, is open in the mornings, giving away free apples while we there. There are two pubs and a lovely looking restaurant, which we just didn't manage to fit in. (It was fully booked for Sunday lunch.) Hereford, Leominster, Ludlow and Hay on Wye are within easy reach. We are thinking of staying in the Stables again next year, if the Hay Festival is Covid free by then. If we do, we will hope to see completed the rather beautifully designed and crafted porch for the vicarage, which was being built while we there. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Lovely accommodation in a beautiful village with walks from the doorstep and two pubs at the end of the road. Very clean and comfortable and safe level parking. We enjoyed playing table tennis, darts, snooker and croquet, but didn't get around to the tennis. Would stay here again when visiting this area. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo
