This wonderfully spacious, semi-detached, stone built cottage is adjacent to the owner’s home and is found in the heart of the Calder Valley, and offers simply outstanding countryside views over the stunning rural surroundings. Conveniently located between Sowerby Bridge, Mytholmroyd and Hebden Bridge, you can enjoy ample walking and cycling direct from the door, with easy access to local village amenities. The garden is a particular delight, and inside, the cottage has been finished to a beautifully high standard throughout with the added benefit of underfloor heating and a wood burner. The owners have conscientiously provided a large fridge/freezer with a water dispenser to cut down on plastic bottle use, and the property features solar panels and a wind turbine, to lower the carbon footprint.
Nearby the famous Pennine Way, Calderdale Way and Cragg Vale provide excellent walking and cycling with the National Cycle Network Route 66 on the doorstep, the Tour de France 2014 was hosted in the area. The Peak District National Park can be reached in around 40 minutes, and offers a wide range of outdoor opportunities. The birthplace of Poet Laureate Ted Hughes, Mytholmroyd is just a 5-minute drive away, and the charming and vibrant market town of Hebden Bridge can be reached within a 10-minute drive. Haworth, most famous for its Bronte heritage, can be reached in around half an hour. Shibden Hall, an exquisite, 600 year old timber manor house, set within 37 hectares, is close by as is the Grade l listed Piece Hall, the last remaining example of the great northern cloth halls, which has recently undergone a £19 million restoration programme. There are many more heritage buildings, beautiful parks and National Trust properties all within an easy commute, such as Hardcastle Crags, Towneley Hall, the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and the picturesque Bolton Abbey.
