Just as advertised

Villa Olivia in Lucca is just as advertised; perhaps even better than advertised. Easy communications with property manager, and check in process was very smooth (thank you Monica and Mafalda). Short walk (5-10 minutes) to Lucca wall. Lucca itself was spectacular. Great shops, great food, great people.

We stayed in this place in Lucca for two weeks while we did day trips with my family. It was great! A word to light sleepers: the owner’s dogs (who lived below) were out most nights and barked at night. We let the property manager know but the barking continued. We eventually got used to it because we didn’t want to inconvenience them by asking again and loved our stay but not ideal in the first days of jet lag.

Fabulous

This was our second visit to Villa Olivia. A beautiful villa, tastefully designed. The villa is situated in a perfect location, close to the wall with supermarket and train station within walking distance. The bikes provided by the owner were a great hit with the family, allowing us to explore the beautiful city and surrounding area. I would highly recommend a visit. We can’t wait to come back.

Stayed for New Year - Very Happy

Our family of 4 had a truly marvellous time in Lucca. The property was very handily located. We flew to Pisa and the drive to the property was very straight forward. Whilst staying in the apartment we all found it very comfortable and just as described and shown in the photographs. Walking into the old town of Lucca took about 10 minutes as did the walk to the station. I would thoroughly recommend this apartment and Lucca.

Space and Comfort in Wonderful Lucca

Six ladies from Canada were welcomed to this lovely Villa by Sonia. We were shown the utmost hospitality and kindness as she carries the heaviest suitcases for us and ensured we knew our way around the apartment and city. Sonia continued to show us every kindness during our stay. Thank you for the salad and homemade jam! This home was fabulous: we enjoyed every minute!

Beautiful villa in great location

Booking was very easy, staff was very responsive. Price was great for quality of villa and location. We were given a warm welcome and tour upon arrival and provided booklets full of great extensive and detailed recommendations for restaurants, shopping, activities, etc. This villa was so beautiful and clean, it is even more beautiful than in the photos. It was very nice and felt comfortable like a home away from home. The location was wonderful, just a few blocks from the walled city, which we walked or biked into every day. It was great to have 6 bikes with locks available. Also great central location for day trips, we were able to take quick drives to Florence, Viareggio and Pisa. Owner of property was very nice and welcoming, we loved to see his 2 dogs in the neighboring yard. We would highly recommend staying here and would love to come back in the future.

Enjoyable Property!

The furnishings are quite plush, but the lone bed that I used had a firm mattress, which was good for me. The showers are nicely large, not the typical European cubes, and with steady pressure and temperature (one has a ledge seat). This house is on a residential street, so there is no commercial noise. Ten minutes away on foot is a large grocery store and the first row of restaurants inside the wall. The gate for the driveway is not electric, so you will manually operate the gate four times each time you want to use your car. Lots of clothes storage space. Huge windows with mechanized blackout shutters. Large place with space if you need it!

Wonderful accommodation and experience in Lucca.

Spacious accommodation. Comfy beds. Nicely decorated with personal touches. Enjoyed outside sitting area. Modern bathrooms. Close to supermarket and the town and train station. Having the bicycles was a real asset and made a big difference in seeing the town and getting around the wall. Having the washing machine was really great. Our host , who lived below, was very helpful and recommended a couple of good restaurants. Awesome place. Need to fix the freezer since frosted up quickly so could not open the drawers and we had to defrost. Need to out a spatula in the kitchen.

This was a perfect house

This was a perfect house for our 5 week vacation. It was a 5 minute bike ride to the wall to get inside old town Lucca. Touring bikes were provided and were easy to navigate. We used them almost every day both during the day and at night as well. The house was clean and beautifully appointed. It had all the modern conveniences we needed for our extended stay. Our host was very welcoming and responded right away to a few small things we needed while there. The gazebo in the backyard with the pizza oven and grille was a big hit and we used it often whether it was to prepare a mealhaving happy hour before dinnertaking a nap in the shade after lunch outside in the afternoon. We highly recommend this house if you are considering a stay in the Lucca area. The neighborhood was quiet but still had plenty of shops close by where we would go every day to shop for groceriesenjoy a cappuccino and croissant for breakfast. We would definitely stay here again.

Stunning Villa

The whole villa was stunning and extremely good value, located in a quiet area a five to ten minute walk outside the city walls of Lucca. Check-in was great as we were greeted by Manuel who took us through everything we needed to know about the villa. It has a great outside space with outdoor seating with a gazebo with mosquito netting and pizza oven/barbeque. Always felt safe and comfortable. Beautiful.

Would highly recommend

We stayed for a short break as we were attending a wedding. The check in was very flexible as our flight had been cancelled and as such had to arrive later. The place was amazing, very clean and a bottle of wine on arrival. It was nice and close to Lucca and some nice bakeries around the corner to grab an espresso and pastry in the mornings. The supermarket is a 7 minute walk and very good. The garden was well kept and nice for an evening drink. There were a couple of bikes that we could we use which was very handy.

Great Villa

My family had such a wonderful stay at the Villa Olivia, and the location was perfect - easy walking inside the walls, but right outside so it was easy to have a car to explore the countryside. The house is very spacious, clean, modern and walking distance to the walls of Lucca. The beds were firm and 2 of them were king size which is rare in Europe! The showers were also big and modern. We love the blackout shutters so we could have our 2 year old sleep in - helped us do the same too. The private parking was fantastic and it was so nice to have the outdoor space for our son to play and explore. Maria met us at the house when we checked in and she was great throughout our trip. The hosts, Maurizio and Federica, live on the floor below and they are extremely friendly, and a couple times were incredibly helpful when we needed assistance. We would definitely recommend staying there and cannot wait to return soon!

Great Villa

Lovely Villa, great location. Easy to get to. Off road parking a real plus. Went with my wife, children, my wife’s cousin and her child. They had a great time, hope they weren’t too noisy for the owners. Can’t fault the villa at all.

Lucca, a Tuscan Treasure

What can I say other than 'bellissimmo' ... this villa was a great find. The location in Lucca was fantastic. It's so easy to find when you leave the motorway and in such a quiet street only a 5 minute walk from the walls. Having 6 bikes was a joy and we used tbem often. The cycle paths from the villa to the walks made it easy for everyone, no mater what level of fitness. The city is stunning and a very chilled place with lots of choice of restaurants and bars. Lots of great piazzas and places to see. The railway station took us easily to Florence for €16 return, a great day out. Trips to Pisa, Cinque Terre and the beach at Lido di Camaiore were all very easy although we would suggest the train to Cinque Terre as it covers all the towns without the hill drive. Finally, and best to last, Federica and Maurizio, what can I say again but they were the perfect hosts, lovely people, very friendly and always available to offer advice on taxis, restaurants and whatever you needed. Although they live in the appartment below we had their beautiful garden to ourselves all week. Their lovely gifts of wine and local cake were very much appreciated. We may have left Lucca but have made some great new friends. If you visit Lucca this is definately the place to stay.
