About this property

Waterfront Cottage on Taylor's Creek w/ Boat Dock - Near Shops and Restaurants

We would like to welcome you to "The Easy Plateau" cottage on Taylor's Creek in Beaufort.

Our home is comfortable and clean and is supplied with everything you need, including TVs with Roku in the living room and each bedroom, high speed wireless internet and a modern kitchen with all new appliances. Fresh bed linens are provided free of charge, as are bath towels and wash clothes.

Our cottage has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. The shower for the second bath, is an outdoor shower which is private and easily accessible directly from the bathroom.

There is also a bonus room off the living room which has a comfortable day bed. We call it the "Hemingway Room" as the decor is inspired by Hemingway's boat, Pilar.

We've just added a huge floating dock with room for 2 boats and there is also a floating kayak dock, fold down swim ladder, fish cleaning station and bench seating on the pier.

From the front porch and dock, you will enjoy a continuous parade of boats, wild horses and pirate shenanigans. With deep and calm water, Taylor's Creek is the perfect harbor.

You will only be 1/2 mile from downtown Beaufort, where you'll find plenty of restaurants, bars and shops.

It's a quick drive to world class beaches, the ICW, the North Carolina aquarium, charter boat fishing and cruising and diving. There are fishing tournaments and festivals galore, including The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament, The Beaufort Pirate Invasion, The Beaufort Historic Home and Garden Tour, The Beaufort Music Festival, Wooden Boat Show, Harker's Island Duck Decoys, and NC Seafood Festival. There are always fun activities in town including live music almost nightly on the town boardwalk.

Beaufort was one of Blackbeard's favorite hangouts. Had you been our guest in 1717, you would have laid gaze on Blackbeard's mooring , as the home that he frequently visited while on holiday from pirating, is diagonally behind us. There is little doubt that he walked across our property to reach his girlfriend's home. He ran aground off Beaufort's coast 300 years ago, and the Beaufort branch of the North Carolina Maritime Museum proudly displays artifacts salvaged from his ship, the Queen Anne’s Revenge.

Beaufort has been voted best yachting destination and America's Coolest Small Town. The Cape Lookout National Seashore was recently voted best National Park.

If you rent our home we ask that you respect the peace and privacy of your neighbors. While Beaufort has become a tourist destination, it is still a quiet community, especially after dark.

What a wonderful stay! Perfect location and the house has everything you could possibly need. I was worried about the one full bathroom and ended up loving the second bathroom with outdoor shower.

Perfect cottage in Beaufort

This was such a perfect vacation stop for our family. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed and was in the perfect location. We loved fishing and crabbing off of the dock. The front porch was perfect for watching all of the people and boats go by! The outdoor shower was a great way to clean up after a day of shopping, swimming and having fun. We would definitely stay there again.

Everything was absolutely perfect. The house is clean, well stocked, in a great location and has an amazing front porch with views across Taylor's Creek. It's a short walk back to downtown, and a quick drive to the beach. Amy is an outstanding host, and communicated with us before, during, and after our stay. Highly, highly recommend!

This was our 2nd year staying in this house and the best thing about it other than the location and views, is that it feels like home as soon as you walk in the door. It doesn't feel like a rental. The house was VERY clean and well stocked with spices and cookware. We spent a lot of time on the front porch watching the horses and looking at the water. We hope to be back next year!

Perfect vacation home in a beautiful, quaint Southern town!

This home was absolutely perfect for our family! The home is beautiful, provided everything we needed during our stay and more! The front porch is a perfect place to sit and enjoy the water views and coastal breezes. The owner, Amy communicated with us both prior to our stay and during our stay to ensure all of our questions about locals restaurants, etc. were answered, just to check in on us and to see if we needed anything. If you are looking for a beautiful home in a quaint Southern town, this is the perfect choice! We loved riding our bikes around town by the many historic homes and by the water. The home also provided a dock so we could drop our kayaks and paddleboard right in. We will definitely return to Beaufort, NC and rent this lovely home again!

One of the BEST!

This is one of the best rentals we have ever had! There are many things that make this house special. First, the house is stocked like you stock your own home. The porch was by far our favorite feature with the outdoor shower a close second. We had great view for morning sunrises as well as moonlit evenings. The boat dock is a feature that not many houses offer in the price range and size house we wanted. The location is also very convenient. It was a great walk or easy bike ride to downtown Beaufort for shopping and dining. It was close enough to everything but far enough away where traffic was light. The owner has taken every precaution I could think of for Covid safety and cleaning. We appreciated her communication and would love to stay again! Super place! for a group of 6/7.

Fantastic In Every Way

I'm gonna miss this pace and this place. Beaufort is the friendliest place on earth. It's unusual only when someone DOESN'T speak as they walk by or ride by on the bike.... Disarmingly Friendly 😊 "Easy Plateau" was beyond an amazing find this year. We've never had a rental house with such great attention to detail and incredible high quality amenities. Great correspondence with Amy checking in on us to make sure there was nothing we needed. They really went all out to make sure we wanted for nothing, right down to Q-Tips and LED reading glasses so you could read in the dark in "The Hemingway Room". Incredible little touches everywhere and the location is directly across Taylor's Creek from the place we saw the most wild horses! They even got the brand new dock in just in time for us to enjoy, perfect! If you're looking for a rental to remember, this is definitely one to make note of. And.... The outdoor shower was the absolute bomb, now I want one at home too! Except I don't think it'd be the same! Quiet neighborhood and great bedding abound in this uniquely decorated to the nines cottage with way too many updates to mention including a fantastic new kitchen with a view of Taylor's Creek. The front porch was amazing, always shady 100% of the time because the sun rises on the left and sets on the right side. Great breezes of the water and conveniently located just a bit down across from the best place to see the wild horses. Saw lots of horses and porpoise swimming by too! We'll be back again for sure!

The layout of the house was good, front porch was great for relaxing and looking at the water. Dock access was easy for our boat.The owner checked with me several times just to make sure all was ok and to let me know what we needed in case we lost power during the potential storm.
