About this property

Bring your pet and come play in our Mtns. Only Minutes from Asheville.

Experience mountain living in the beautiful mountains of Fairview, NC. Our secluded mountain retreat is the private lower level of the home we live in now. While building the home, we placed sound baffle insulation in between the floors of the home to keep the lower level as quite as possible. Our retreat offers you a 1300 SF living area with a large kitchen, dining area, huge living room with 40" TV and rock fireplace with gas logs. Our kitchen does not include a stove top/oven combo but does have microwave, griddle, hot plates, electric fryer and outdoor grill. You will also have an extra large bedroom and full bath. The bedroom offers 2 queen beds. Sleep up to 4 easily with room to spare along with a sleeper sofa. No need to bring sheets, blankets, dishes, towels or wood for the fire pit. We will provide all that you need. . Our retreat includes your own private washer and drier. A new mini-split HVAC system has recently been installed to keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Our home is non smoking and we ask that if anyone in your party does smoke that they please do so outside. After driving up our 400' secluded driveway, you will have private parking for 2 vehicles on your 1200 square foot concrete parking/patio area. Plenty of room for hiking, biking, or rafting equipment. You will also have your own separate access to your retreat. You and your family will have access to 8 private acres with a few trails offering outdoor activities. If needed, we provide a 10'x6'x6' outside dog lot positioned within 30' of your retreat entrance. If a bigger lot is needed, we can discuss before booking. We also offer a pet service for feeding and walking your dogs while you are away each day from the retreat if needed. We welcome pets but ask that you please keep them off the furniture, respect the interior of the home and please crate when leaving them alone. If camping is on your mind, we can set up a tent in the nearby woods for you and your kids to enjoy. The beautiful scenery and fall leaves are a mainstay for this area but within 30 minutes travel you will be able to visit The Biltmore Estate, shop and dine in downtown Asheville, traverse Historic Hendersonville with its popular apple festivals, explore Chimney Rock, hike our beautiful mountains, tube / kayak / fish our many rivers or spend your time at our multiple local breweries and taverns seeing why Asheville is called Beer City USA. We have some of the best Mountain Golf courses in the Southeast at your back door if you wish to tee it up. A few other suggestions only 60 miles away would be to visit the Cherokee Indian Reservation, Harrah's Cherokee Casino, Mount Mitchell, Grand Father Mountain, Ski Resorts, Lake Lure, Sliding Rock, DuPont and Pisgah National Forest. For the ultimate family adventure, zip lining in beautiful Madison County or rafting class 4 -5 rapids in Nantahala are there for the challenge. There are many other local places to explore, dine and spend the day and we will help anyway possible in setting up activities or reservations and helping with our local opinion, only if needed. For the less adventurous who want to read a book and relax, we offer a large patio with a fire pit, swing and lounge chairs surrounded by private woods for your enjoyment. Spend the evening relaxing by the fire pit roasting s'mores or in a hammock as you enjoy the cool nights. The kids will love it here with a creek below the house, woods to explore and a perfect place for taking morning or evening walks or runs. Our hope is that you will relax and enjoy your vacation while we provide you with all the luxuries of home. Inquires for long term rental welcome.

Cozy but not what we expected.
It is a lovely outdoor property with a nice indoor fireplace conveniently located near outdoor attractions as well as downtown Asheville. We were disappointed by the lack of hot water on two different occasions. Also, an annoying humming noise was heard in the bedroom several nights and mornings. One evening, conversation was heard above the bedroom, which continued until after midnight.

Relaxing spot just outside Asheville
My group and I loved our stay in Jason's place. We were looking for a weekend getaway that included time in nature, time to enjoy Asheville's best breweries and restaurants, and of course time for our two dogs to run around. Jason's place was clean, comfortable, and convenient. Jason as a host was wonderful. He was responsive whenever we had a question or needed a recommendation. And we so much appreciated him setting up the firepit for us while we were heading back from being out to brunch.

Jason was very helpful, gave great recommendations, and quick to respond to questions. Would recommend this property to anyone and will stay here again on my next trip to Asheville!!

Very clean and nice setting
We had a great Easter weekend staying at the property. It is a small drive to all you need to see in the Asheville area, but is in a lovely wooded area. The place was very clean and the owner was helpful. We would recommend staying here. Thank you. S. Steyn

My wife and I were both born and raised in Fairview / Asheville area and along with our 2 wonderful daughters and 2 English Labradors spend countless hours in these beautiful mountains fishing, tubing and hiking. Our home location is great with tennis courts and golf courses within 5-10 miles of our residence. We are true native WNC through and through so if we can be of any assistance with planning your trip, please don't hesitate to ask. We may know of some places to visit that other's have never heard about.

Why they chose this property

In my opinion, no other area offers what WNC offers in beauty, adventure, great seasonal weather and the diverseness that Asheville brings.
