About this property
Thairn cottage ideal for 2, rural, 3 miles from Kelso. Wood stove All on 1 level
40% discount on stays of 7 nights or more.
Thairn Cottage is one of 3 peaceful cottages. A ground-level one-bedroom retreat with a private south-facing conservatory and lovely views across the garden to the Cheviot Hills. Enjoy long, lazy lunches while watching the wildlife, or settle by your wood-burning stove after a day exploring the Borders. You can walk or cycle straight from the cottage.
The cottage is well equipped for two to three guests, with a separate kitchen (dishwasher, fridge-freezer, oven, hob, microwave and plenty of utensils). The bedroom has an extra-long king bed, and we can add a fold-out bed or travel cot on request. Thairn is pet-free.
You’ll find a bath and separate shower, lots of hot water from our biomass boiler, central heating, and a log burner with plenty of homegrown wood. There’s a heated drying cupboard, fast WiFi, EV charging, and a lockable bike store with some bike mending tools and hose for washing your bike.
From your conservatory, you can enjoy open views over the garden, Eden Water, and fields to the Cheviot hills. There is plenty of parking, with paved, level access for guests with mobility difficulties.
Burnbrae Holidays is just 3 miles from Kelso with its independent shops, cafés and restaurants. Nearby are abbeys, gardens, stately homes, fishing, golf, riding and endless walking and cycling routes.
Prices include heating, electricity, wood, WiFi, bed linen and towels. Guests are welcome to wander our 10 hectares of pasture and riverside. We live on-site and are always happy to help.
