About this property

Executive Home With Endless Views In Soledad Canyon!

Welcome to our lovely home! We are only renting while we are on holiday, but we hope that you enjoy our desert oasis as much as we do. Our home backs to the Organ Mountains National Monument, so it is very peaceful and full of wildlife. We have a golden eagle that flies over every day, hence the name, and hiking trails are easily accessible from here. While very peaceful out here, it actually is only a 15 minute drive from central Las Cruces, so it is very convenient for exploring the area.
Our home is custom built against the hillside and filled with beautiful woodwork. Each room has floor to ceiling windows with incredible views in all directions. You enter into a large open concept great room with separated areas for living, dining and a newly remodeled gourmet kitchen with everything you could need to cook. Upstairs is the master bedroom with panoramic views and a large ensuite bathroom with jetted tub and large tile shower that you can enjoy the view even while in the shower! Across the hall is another guest room with views of the Organ mountains, and a children's room with bunk bed and toys, and at the end of the hall is another full bathroom with tub/shower combo. Downstairs is a great room and a fourth bedroom we use as a large office that has a pull out sofa to be a full size bed, and an ensuite bathroom. Off the downstairs bedroom is a laundry room with sauna. We also have a leather sofa in the living room that is a pull out sofa for additional guest space. House has been updated with full central A/C units (refrigerated air) both upstairs and downstairs and solar panels to power this without charge.
Outside you can relax on many patios with wooden sofa sets, bistro table and chairs, swinging bench, swing for children, and a hammock to choose from. All areas have amazing views, and the house being set above all other houses provides remarkable privacy.
Talavera is a desirable part of Las Cruces with many large estates, all properties here are at least a couple acres. Our home is accessible to nature and many hiking trails, the Sierra Vista Trail runs right behind the hill we are on, and the Soledad Canyon area is just up the road. Dripping Springs and A Mountain are also a close drive.
There is no public transportation out here. You will drive down a short (less than quarter mile) dirt road, then we have a paved, but very steep and winding, driveway to get up to the house.

The Perfect Place for Our Stay
We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful house! All of us enjoyed the amazing views and the layout of the property. I will miss that great kitchen and that Viking stove. I am a native Las Crucen yet climbed "A" mountain and went up Soledad Canyon for the first time. And, was minutes from my sister. It was just an overall pleasure and joy for our family to have such a place to stay while in Las Cruces. Thank you so much. Jim Pickett

Beautiful view
This home is set up on the hillside with a stunning view. The home has a great vibe and perfect for a family stay. The owners are sweet and helpful. They gave us great recommendations for the area. White Sands National Monument is a must, it is well worth the 1 hour drive.

Extraordinary house sight and unbelievable views.
We had a great 4 night stay, the view is fantastic. We wanted a Christmas in the southwest without all the holiday hupla and we got that. We also thought the surroundings were beautiful, even the housing in the area is rather harmonious with the setting. The kitchen was a plus, fun to cook in the space, great lighting beautifully appointed with user friendly features. Super clean. Owner made it feel like we were welcome there. The outdoor patio spaces were great for getting badly needed vitamin "D" sunshine. The place is all about the view and I enjoyed doing some watercolors outside on the patio a couple of days. I liked that the place was somewhat sparse as far as decorating or stuff. Being able to do a load of laundry was great. The hiking in the area could fill up a week easily. We really loved the "Tucan" grocery stop before arriving. Make sure you have a good vehicle for steep incline. It got a little cool some days, but staying inside to read was OK. There was a little snafu with how the price was listed, I'm not sure who was responsible. I have decided to let that go because I think others would enjoy the place a lot. We just might return again for a longer time next year.
