Welcome to our lovely home! We are only renting while we are on holiday, but we hope that you enjoy our desert oasis as much as we do. Our home backs to the Organ Mountains National Monument, so it is very peaceful and full of wildlife. We have a golden eagle that flies over every day, hence the name, and hiking trails are easily accessible from here. While very peaceful out here, it actually is only a 15 minute drive from central Las Cruces, so it is very convenient for exploring the area.
Our home is custom built against the hillside and filled with beautiful woodwork. Each room has floor to ceiling windows with incredible views in all directions. You enter into a large open concept great room with separated areas for living, dining and a newly remodeled gourmet kitchen with everything you could need to cook. Upstairs is the master bedroom with panoramic views and a large ensuite bathroom with jetted tub and large tile shower that you can enjoy the view even while in the shower! Across the hall is another guest room with views of the Organ mountains, and a children's room with bunk bed and toys, and at the end of the hall is another full bathroom with tub/shower combo. Downstairs is a great room and a fourth bedroom we use as a large office that has a pull out sofa to be a full size bed, and an ensuite bathroom. Off the downstairs bedroom is a laundry room with sauna. We also have a leather sofa in the living room that is a pull out sofa for additional guest space. House has been updated with full central A/C units (refrigerated air) both upstairs and downstairs and solar panels to power this without charge.
Outside you can relax on many patios with wooden sofa sets, bistro table and chairs, swinging bench, swing for children, and a hammock to choose from. All areas have amazing views, and the house being set above all other houses provides remarkable privacy.
Talavera is a desirable part of Las Cruces with many large estates, all properties here are at least a couple acres. Our home is accessible to nature and many hiking trails, the Sierra Vista Trail runs right behind the hill we are on, and the Soledad Canyon area is just up the road. Dripping Springs and A Mountain are also a close drive.
There is no public transportation out here. You will drive down a short (less than quarter mile) dirt road, then we have a paved, but very steep and winding, driveway to get up to the house.
