Cute mezzanine apartment, NEW heated saltwater pool, 6 ac beautiful grounds

The Owners, David and Ariane, invite you to enjoy the charm of our Domaine du Moulin, which dates back to around 1800. The Domaine, its four Gîtes and the large heated swimming pool are located close to Limoux in a picturesque valley. Set in over two hectares (6 acres) of secluded grounds the Domaine enjoys splendid views of the medieval hill-top village of Roquetaillade and surrounding hills. Only 30 minutes from Carcassonne and its airport and about an hour from Toulouse, it is ideally placed to explore the Cathare castles, the Pyrenees, the Mediterranean Sea and the most productive wine region in the world - or just relax by the swimming pool and take in the views.

The Studio is a self-contained part of the Maison Cypres (separated by a 1m thick wall) with its own entrance. It is a two-level apartment with a king-size bed and shower room downstairs, and living area and kitchenette on the gallery.
The shower room contains a basin, shower and toilet.
The living area comprises of a comfortable sofa, chair, table and reading lamp.
Outside is a secluded wooden deck with garden furniture, a gas BBQ, and splendid views towards Roquetaillade.

Had a relaxing time the little bite was really cute but the weather was exceptionally hot so it could have done with air con or an extra fan the pool was great and Amy and Duncan very friendly we had a great time and if in that area in the future would definitely go back Wishing them well for the future

DISASTER OF A PLACE.....GOOD TO AVOID

This gite is in the middle of nowhere. It is only 7 km. from Limoux but because of the nature of the roads it is about a 15 minute trip each way. The only reason to stay here is if you wish to commune with spiders, flies, wasps and mosquitoes -- of which there are many. The facility itself is TINY. Hardly any room to move around. It was stifling hot and opening the windows was an invitation to all the bugs. There was a fan but literally no place to plug it in where it could blow air into the bedroom. When we arrived we decided to have a drink on the advertised terrace, the wasps notwithstanding. We were chastised by the hostess who advised us in no uncertain terms that this was NOT OUR TERRACE, even though it was directly outside our door. Our terrace was 30 meters up the hill and consisted of a wooden platform with a table and two chairs. The table was full of birdshit and had not been cleaned in at least two weeks. There was an ashtray full of cigarette and cigar butts. The gite itself was not as dirty as the terrace...but it was not clean either. Another 20 meters up the hill was the pool. When we asked about renting or borrowing swim towels we were told by the host: "This is a cheap gite, not a fancy hotel". We went to Limoux for dinner, found ourselves a very nice 5-room apartment about 200 feet from the center of town with more amenities than most rentals and a very charming host. We went back to sleep one night, which was most uncomfortable, and left the next morning. We have generally had very good results with VRBO but our advice: AVOID THIS PLACE

Ein paar schöne Tage in Roquetaillade

Mein Mann und ich verbrachten ein paar schöne Tage mit unserer Hündin in dem kleinen Ferienhaus auf einem großen schönen Grundstück. Das Haus war klein und gemütlich und wir hatten alles, was wir brauchten. Auf dem großen naturnahen Gelände gab es tolle Aussichten auf die umliegenden Berge und nachts gab es einen wunderbaren Sternenhimmel ohne störendes Fremdlicht. Wir hatten eine nette Begegnung mit der Gastgeberin und aufschlussreiche Gespräche mit ihr über Land und Leute. Empfehlenswerte Unterkunft!

Orchideeen zoeken in de Corbières

Het vakantiehuis in de streek Corbières is een goede verblijfplaats voor hen die een paar dagen op zoek gaan naar orchideeen. De orchideeën weide achter het huis is prachtig en er staan de meeste soorten die je in de natuur ook aantreft. Mits je op het juiste tijdstip daar bent. Bijvoorbeeld rond 1 mei. Ik kan het van harte aanbevelen.

Goed onderhouden zwembad met voldoende meubilair voor alle gasten. Terras in de schaduw (helaas wat ver van de keuken om alles te verplaatsen) met gas-bbq! Comfortabel bed. Problemen met verlichting, werden onmiddellijk opgelost We misten een hartelijk ontvangst bij aankomst en een uitzwaai bij vertrek.

Agréable séjour dans un logement plutôt confortable et un beau cadre. Piscine appréciable. Cependant, voici qqs points à améliorer: - absence de ventilateur d'appoint vu qu'on pouvait difficilement laisser ouvert la nuit à cause de l'absence d'une moustiquaire sur la porte principale malgré le nombre important d'insectes... - absence d'aspirateur, de pinces à linge, de produit WC, de thé / café - manque d'intimité entre la terrasse de la maison principale et l'entrée du studio - pas de numéro de téléphone sur l'annonce Abritel. Malgré ces détails manquants, nous recommandons ce logement pour des futurs vacanciers.

Logement confortable mais un peu compliqué à vire

Cadre très agréable avec une belle végétation à l'état naturel, belle piscine partagée assez vaste pour pouvoir nager, chaises longues à disposition. L'appartement est évidemment étroit et demande une bonne organisation mais présente tous les éléments de confort nécessaires. Cependant il reste un peu compliqué à vivre avec sa cuisne à l'étage et sa terrasse éloignée en haut d'une pente herbeuse ( gros vieux fauteuils en bois intansportables). Aucun petit fauteuil, transat, à proximité immédiate du logement pour profiter du cadre et de la nature. Dommage. Pas d'accueil le samedi, guidage par téléphone et les voisins. Visite des propriétaires le mardi, cependant très réactifs pour résoudre un léger dysfonctionnement.

Kleine studio wat op zich niet erg is. De ligging is prima met voldoende privacy. Helaas waren veel dingen beschadigd of kapot, zoals toaster deed het niet, diepvries in koelkast deed het niet (ook lampje kapot), glas kapot, zeer oude (en weinig) handdoeken, tuinmeubilair dat gammel was. Badkamer was NIET NIEUW (stond wel zo op website) en stonk naar urine, ook na intensief poetsen. Potentie genoeg, maar als de eigenaren zo doorgaan zal het niet geschikt zijn voor verhuur.

Un grand bol d air

Petit studio très propre et fonctionnel dans le prolongement de la maison principale. Chambre en bas, salon cuisine en haut. Sdb séparée de la chambre par une porte ajoutée (peu intime). Terrasse un peu plus haut dans le jardin. Accueil très simple et intimité bien respectée. Environnement parfait. Roquetailladr est au centre de tous les lieux d intérêt que nous cherchions à voir, un point stratégique pour les promeneurs.

A bijou little gîte

The Studio at Domaine du Moulin is charming (sleeping downstairs, living upstairs) and very comfortable: everything you need, carefully thought out and tastefully done. It's small but has a spacious feel and the décor is calm and light. The domaine is on the wild side but the pool and its surrounds are beautiful – sun or shade at all times of the day, and the Studio has its own private little deck with BBQ. The hosts are friendly, easy-going and helpful. Limoux (about 6 km) has everything you need. As for the area, there's so much to do: castles, abbeys, medieval villages, glorious scenery, easy driving in rolling country or hairpin bends with spectacular views if you prefer, wild flowers, birdsong, good walking and cycling. Slow down, relax, enjoy! I loved it.

Beautiful accommodation in a lovely setting

We have just returned from a three week stay in France the second week of which was in the lovely studio accommodation at La Moulin. The accommodation is very cosy and comfortable and just right for two people. The tiny kitchen in a cupboard is very easy to work in and everything we needed was to hand. The accommodation was very clean and the location was just right to explore the area.

Lovely, peaceful and all you need.

We stayed in the Studio which has enough space for 2 - and at first I wasn't sure about the kitchen area which lives in a cupboard, but it is surprisingly efficient and I managed to make proper meals as it's all very well kitted out. The outside area a little way up the garden is a lovely place to sit in the evening with your meal and a drink. The pool area is a nice place to sit on a sunny afternoon - we were there at the end of September and we able to swim and sun ourselves. The Aude is gorgeous and we had some great days out to see the Pays Cathare. Thanks for a great week!

Great escape

We had a lovely stay in the studio over Christmas, away from it all and in beautiful surroundings. There was lots to keep us busy from Christmas shopping in Carcassonne to skiing in the Pyrenees. Our hosts were welcoming and very helpful in lots of ways making the whole holiday run smoothly.
