About this property

"Battunga" - a lakeside retreat

Situated in Kings Point on the shores of Burrill Lake near Ulladulla on the NSW south coast, Battunga is a quaint holiday home which has an arty feel with colourful interiors and paintings. Battunga features spectacular views of the lake and countryside on the opposite shore. Set up your easel, fish from Battunga's jetty, water-ski, scale Pigeon House mountain, surf or just do nothing. You will wake each morning to the sounds of nature and feel thoroughly refreshed.

Accommodation for 6 people comprises the "Japanese room" (one queen bed) , the main bedroom (one queen bed), the twin bedroom (two single beds) and a "granny flat" downstairs (one double bed).

Please note, Battunga is a cottage and is not equipped to accommodate large groups. The maximum group size is 6 people including children. Guests may have the occasional visitor but they are not permitted to stay/overnight. We do not wish to manage complaints from our neighbours due to unacceptable and/or disrespectful guest/visitor behaviour.

Battunga does not offer a linen service and guests are to supply their own linen and towels.

Sorry, Battunga is not suitable for pets. We board our own pets so we request guests to do the same.

Just beautiful

Perfect location right on the shores of Burrill Lake in a quiet street. The house was ideal, a little bit retro (very cool) with great views. Our hosts were a pleasure to deal with.

Location unbeatable

For a quiet relaxed break with an unmatched waterfront view of Burrill lake you can't go past this pleasant house. Very comfortably accommodating six adults it has everything you need for a family holiday. Although there were a few niggly things - tricky sliding door to the verandah, difficult to close locks, dim lighting in the dining area, these were balanced by the view which you could just sit and watch all day and the general comfort with good mattresses, great air-conditioning, nice furniture and a washing machine and drier which worked better than ours at home. Yes, there's no dishwasher and no board games or ping pong table but it is good value for what it is and where it is - a stunning spot in a beautiful place. Would be even better if you had a boat, as it has its very own jetty.

"Battunga" Kings Point

We had a great 5 night stay at "Battunga". The location is lovely- right on the lake- so the views are great whatever the weather. There's also a variety of birds to watch. The interior is very colourful, our only criticism would be it's a bit dark inside as others have said. Beds were very comfortable, as was the lounge. Excellent BBQ out on the deck, where we spent a lot of time. We also had fun throwing a fishing line in off the jetty. It was very relaxing. I would definitely recommend "Battunga" to others, and would stay again.

Beautiful and Tranquil Lakeside Retreat

My family of 4 adults and one infant stayed in Battunga for five nights, fully enjoyed the beautiful and expanse view to the lake. The air on the lake side was very soothing and refreshing, as it maintained the humidity and temperature at constant which made the environment very comfortable. We all slept well every night and that is something special. Although the rain continued through most of our stay, we felt the house had good amount of space to accomodate for everyone's presence. We loved the gas stove, as well as the ample bench space around it. The extra freezer in the laundry came in handy to keep our bag of ice frozen until the end. With the tinnie we brought along, we were pleased to find the jetty was well built and in very good condition. Although the water looked rather dark from the rain, luckily it did not stop us from catching a few monstrous size bream which made our trip impossible to forget. Like some other travellers have commented, we too found the light in the dining area is too dim. Also, there was also a huge fallen branch with overgrown grass which we had to cross over every time to get on to the jetty. Overall, we have really enjoyed the stay at Battunga. The view, the air, and overall comfort were all fantastic. The owners and the next door neighbour were also kind and helpful. We certainly like to come back later!

Great house

It was a fantastic house. It had everything we needed, we just had to bring our own linen but everything else was provided. We enjoyed the fireplace! Comfortable beds, clean house, beautiful views from the main room and lounge room. We even used the jetty for fishing, it was fun. Overall it was a great house for a family, with plenty of space if we want to come back with extended family.

A Colourful stay

I was pleasantly surprised on arrival, spacious and bright with awesome views. Although, I was a little worried that the place smelt dusty on arrival as we are asthmatics but it didn’t take long to air the place. We really enjoyed our stay. We found the location was ideal for us to go out for dinner in Ulladulla or catch up for a family picnic at burill lakes. Our only wish was “wish time went slower “

Amazing property right on the water.

We had an amazing stay at Battunga. The property has 3 large bedrooms,2 separate sitting areas including a large dining room table with space for about 6-8. The best part is the deck overlooking the jetty. Highlight of the stay was definitely all the bird life and the gorgeous lake. We spent most of our time out on the deck and you can just sit there and do nothing for hours. Very peaceful and quiet on the days we were there and communication throughout with the owners was excellent. I would highly recommend a stay here.

Relaxing location in wonderful place

It's beautiful place in a wonderful and peaceful location. Julian and Angeline did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We can't thank them enough. They were quick to answer any question we had before the trip and were as quick to accommodate any request during our stay. One thing that surprised us was, how spacious their cottage is! It was clean and everything was right on as described in their ad. Location is perfect. Mollymock beach only 15mins away, we took our kids for swim there. Beautiful Dolphin point beach also a must visit only 10 mins away. We went to lake Canjola, it only took us 30 mins. Julian's place is right next to the lake with a private jetty. Lake is good for swim or other water activities. One of the most relaxing vacation we have had and it started with the moment we booked beautiful "Battunga". We sure will be back!
