Lunada Sol is located in the heart of Playa del Carmen in Little Italy, close to all the best activities and amenities of the small city. Playa is a great base to enjoy all that the Mayan Riviera offers as it is halfway between Cancun and Tulum.

When you arrive at Lunada Sol, you will be impressed as soon as you walk in the door. The condo is professionally designed and decorated to be the perfect beach apartment - relaxing and inviting. The kitchen is fully equipped so you can enjoy meals and entertain friends. There are lots of windows to bring in plenty of sunshine and fresh air. Outside the double patio doors, the hammock is very inviting to read a book or take a nap or enjoy a cold margarita at the bistro table. To enjoy the indoors, watch a movie on the 55" smart flat screen TV or enjoy your music via bluetooth on the stereo while you relax by putting your feet up on the comfortable chaise sofa.

Down the hall you will find two beautifully decorated bedrooms each with their own full bathroom and rain-shower heads to start your day right. The master bedroom has a king size bed and a 48" smart flatscreen TV. The second bedroom has 2 double beds and a walk-in closet complete with a safe for your valuables and electronics (large enough for your laptop).

When its time to cool down, head up to the rooftop. This is in one of the best rooftops in Playa with a large pool, lots of pool loungers, 2 hot tubs and a BBQ grill. Look east to see the ocean from the rooftop. There are plenty of tables for socializing and meeting people from around the world. Later head down to the gym for a cardio workout or utilize the multiple free weights or machines. If you have young children, there is a large wading pool in the condo courtyard with conveniently located tables and chairs so you can watch and enjoy their fun splashing around.

A 10-15 minute walk straight down 38 ave puts you right in the middle of one of the nicest beaches in Playa. Shangri-La's white sand and warm water will have you reaching for your camera for that postcard picture in paradise. Located right beside Shangri-La beach are restaurants, bars and convenience stores if you need a cool beverage.

Two blocks away from Lunada Sol, you will find Playa's famous pedestrian 5th Avenue with its international cuisine, restaurants and shopping. Bars, dancing and entertainment are endless here as there is something for everyone. If you want to enjoy the local Mexican food and culture, take a 5 minute walk to 30 Ave where there are many shops, restaurants, grocery stores and taco stands.

Amazing & well furnished/setup condo for vacation

We highly recommend this condo for your vacation and we will rent again for return stays in Playa Del Carmen! Location was excellent, quiet, yet close to stores, shopping, restaurants for food and late night drinks. Just a few blocks from the beach and 5th Ave. We walked everywhere, including to get groceries. We also had a rental car and it was secure in the underground parking. 24/7 security and front desk were great. Cleaning people constantly maintaining the grounds. Washer/Dryers in the basement to keep beach towels and clothes clean. We also used the well equipped fitness facility every day, which was great. We used the rooftop pool, hot tubs and chairs for suntanning and socializing. The building is well maintained and setup. The condo is even better! Very well decorated and clean with all required towels, kitchen utensils, beach towels, chairs and coolers, etc. as well as TV, internet, Netflix, etc. Having 2.5 bathrooms was great. Each bedroom has their own ensuite plus a half bath for general use. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciated the use of the condo. The property manager was also very helpful and available at any time, including recommendations for places to eat out that are close. We highly recommend this property for your future visit! Everything was perfect and met or exceeded our expectations!

Excellent Condo!

Lunada was the perfect Condo for us. I stayed in Aug 2023 with my husband and daughter, 9 years old. There was enough space for 3 more persons in terms of sleeping arrangements. The kitchen has everything you need. The living room and dining area are comfortable and we were happy to have those additional spaces as compared to just one room that a hotel offers. There are also board games available in the living room which were a delight for my daughter. There was a balcony with a hammock, but as it was Aug it was generally too hot to hang out outside. The view from the balcony is nice, as it looks down on the palm lined entrance. The pool area on the rooftop was clean, quiet, and really really great. We used it at night and the water was lovely and warm. There's an area for a little party with a grill as well! Also all the ACs worked great and the rooms all cooled down quickly. The location is just wonderful and it is walking distance to 5th Ave. and to many restaurants, and well as 2 mins away from the beach. There are pharmacies, Axxo's and 7/11's everywhere. Taxis were always available on the same street that Lunada is on. We took taxis to Walmart, downtown, and Xcaret. The taxi drivers were friendly and fair. There seems to be a standard rate to whatever the location was. We all really enjoyed our stay at Lunada!

This condo is the best equipped VRBO rental we have ever stayed in. It truly has everything you need. From beach equipment and towels to recommendations for the area. Look no further, THIS IS THE PLACE TO STAY! Great added value all around! From the owner Marcus to the property manager to the front desk there was nothing but great hospitality and communication. We vacationed here for 7 days with a 4 yr old and an 8 yr old and it was home away from home. This condo has it all, and then some! In our opinion it’s on the best side of La Quinta (5th Ave) with the best beach in Playa right on the street that you exit the condo from. There are also excellent local restaurants(El Fogon), bakeries and grocery stores nearby. The condo itself is well decorated, with many amenities, plenty of room for entertaining and an awesome community rooftop pool! Looking forward to making more memories in our next stay at Marcus’s beautiful condo.

Lunada Sol is excellent in every way. The condo is lovely. The furnishings are very nice and comfortable. The kitchen is fully set up with everything you could possibly need. The location is ideal. The pool is very nice and the gym is fantastic. We have rented here twice now and can't wait to return again.

Lunada Sol was wonderful. The condo was comfortable and fully equipped with everything necessary and more, the property was safe and clean, the gym was terrific and convenient, the rooftop pool was lovely, the beach chairs and umbrella were perfect and the location is ideal. We just loved it and hope to be able to come back again soon. Highly recommended.

Very nice, clean, safe condo in a convenient location

Our family of three (2 adults and a 10-year-old) stayed here for a week on our summer vacation. Communication with the owner was great; he provided a lot of information and tips about the area prior to our trip and was very prompt with answering many questions. Property manager Claudio was also very nice and took us on a tour of the property and the condo when we got there. He even stocked our refrigerator with couple of cartons of juices and a bottle of wine to welcome us. We didn’t need him for the rest of the trip, but had no doubt he’d very helpful if needed. This condo was perfect and provided plenty of room for us. Photos are accurate and the place is very clean and well decorated. 2.5 bathrooms worked well for us as each one had their own bathroom to get ready. Bathrooms and kitchen was very well equipped, we only had to buy food and shampoo and conditioner! Couple of thing to note about the condo itself: 1. Elevator in the unit doesn’t have rooftop (pool, hot tub, and BBQ grill) access. You have to walk over to the lobby and use the elevator there. 2. Laundry facility is in the basement, but it’s free, just bringing your own detergent. We left detergent in the condo for the next guests! 3. Reception (Jaime) is very nice; ask him about discount vouchers to Martina beach club. We decided not the rent a car this time, so we were initially concerned about walking distances to different places. However, we found it was really easy to walk to the beach, 5th ave, restaurants, Oxxo, and grocery stores. We even walked to the Mega once. We only took taxi to the bus station and colectivo. Overall, this was a great place for us and definitely recommend it!

Beautiful well equipped condo with great location

Location was very important to my friend and I for our Playa del Carmen holiday. We wanted a place that is easy to find, close to the action but not right on top of it. Lunada has an excellent location - its only a few minutes walk to the bars, restaurants and shops of touristy 5 avenue and the beach/beach clubs. It's also a short walk to the grocery stores, Mexican restaurants and shops on 30 avenue. The apartment itself is very comfortable, has great décor (good quality furniture and original art) and is well equipped. My friend and I usually had at least one meal a day in the condo - the kitchen has everything you need including a fantastic blender. The beds and linens are very comfortable with blackout drapes in both bedrooms allowing for restful nights. Each bedroom has its own spacious ensuite with a fantastic rain shower. The internet was really fast and there is even common internet available at the rooftop pool. The rooftop has lots of lounge chairs, two hot tubs and a good sized pool - very nice for relaxing after a busy day of sightseeing. Beach towels, beach chairs and a cooler are provided if you want to go and explore surrounding beaches. We had a rental car and checked out many of the great local attractions - it was hard to choose what to do because of the amazing selection. The Mayan Riviera is truly a world class destination. To sum it up, as two women travelling, we felt very safe at Lunada with secure underground parking at the apartment as well as condo staff at the front door 24/7. Would definitely recommend this apartment and look forward to staying here again some day!

We were so delighted with our stay from beginning to the end. Before our arrival were were given useful information on the building, condo and Playa Del Carmen. The property manager Claudio welcomed us with a care package "Wine, beer and chocolates" wow! he showed us around the beautiful facility. The condo itself is so beautifully decorated and perfectly equipped nothing is missing with attention to details it felt "homy" you did not mind spending time in the condo. During our stay the owner was in touch to make sure all was satisfying. Great place to live makes for a great trip memory.! Cheers!

Pretty, clean, friendly, convenient

My family loved the Lunada and did not want to leave. From my mom to my 4 year old they each loved something different. My mom loved how quiet and relaxing the location was, how homey the condo was, it was perfect for our Christmas vacation. The kids loved the roof deck and pool. The staff was very friendly and helpful. 2 blocks away from 5th Avenue in one direction and 2 blocks from 30th where there are several options for grocery shopping and more local restaurants and stores. We will definitely be back. Thanks to our host and property manager for the best welcome and tips for our stay.

We are a Canadian family of four from Calgary, Alberta. We've travelled extensively looking for a great climate and a fun, safe place to have a second home. We've now found that in Playa del Carmen! It took us 4 years to find the ideal condo complex in Playa and we are thrilled to share Lunada Sol with other people that love the sunshine, the beach and Mexico.

Why they chose this property

Great city - great neighborhood - great complex - great condo! We love Playa del Carmen as it has an international feel, it's a small city with everything you need in close proximity, the people are friendly and there's always something to do. Not to mention the sunshine and great climate! Lunada Sol is located in one of the nicest areas of Playa Del Carmen. Little Italy is full of life with great restaurants, pubs & coffee shops, but also close to supermarkets, laundry services, and anything else you might need. Lunada is a great condo complex with amazing amenities in a safe neighborhood with secure underground parking. The rooftop pool and social area is fantastic. It's perfectly located, only 2 blocks from 5th ave and a 10 minute walk to the beautiful white sand Shangri-La beach. Once we found the ideal condo complex, we worked with a professional interior designer to create the perfect beach condo. Lunada Sol is not only beautiful with original artwork and custom made furniture, but very functional as its equipped to meet the needs of a family.

What makes this property unique

- Gorgeously decorated, spacious, functional apartment that can sleep 8 people.

- Secure underground parking (many complexes in Playa do not have secure parking).

- elevators to help when carrying groceries or with mobility problems.
- fully equipped kitchen with quality pots and pans, dishes for 10, numerous kitchen implements, top quality small and large appliances (so many rental condos in Playa are barely equipped because its assumed that everyone wants to eat out all the time - not Lunada Sol!).
