Yes the host was welcoming, the plumbing in the bathroom needs to be looked at as the water pressure was nonexcistent and no hot water in kitchen had to boil kettle to do dishes. The cottage was clean and well stocked for breakfast.
Beautiful old cottage. Greg welcomed us at the property and everything was as per expectations. Would highly recommend this location if you are planning a stay in the area.

The property could benefit from a good clean, cobwebbing throughout the interior and cooking equipment was not clean. The microwave was covered in food splatters from previous use and the kitchenette is very limiting in terms of space and location. The room configuration makes it inconvenient for more than two persons as the bathroom and kitchen are accessed off one of the bedrooms. On the plus side the beds were comfy and the location private and peaceful/good access to Albany town. Plan to eat out.
Greg was very welcoming, he had arranged goodies in the fridge for our breakfast which was very much appreciated.Beds were comfortable and clean as was the property..The location was quite and peaceful. The only downside was that there was no hot water connected to the hand basin in the kitchen, but we managed. There was also a little damp patch on one wall in the living room which gave off a smell, but that was to be expected due to the age of the property.Thank you for letting us stay.
Lovely historical home to stay in with two lovely bedrooms. The owner left excellent supplies for breakfast.Only thing that was strange was access to the bathroom and kitchenette was through a bedroom. Would be a little off putting if there were two couples staying
Ideally located out of town but within a 10 minute drive of anything you need. Easily accessible to local national parks. Parking available off the road. 2 beds, lounge area and patio with BBQ and dining setting. Comfortable beds, cozy kitchenette with basics and huge bathroom. Breakfast supplies were very much appreciated to enjoy when we wanted to cook them up. Note 1 bedroom is a thoroughfare to the bathroom so not recommended for light sleepers of those wanting privacy. Beautiful grounds and shady in the heat of summer. Windows open for a breeze, pedestal fan provided for hot days. Would definitely stay again.
Area of shower wall thick with mould canceled the extra two nights accommodation and requested my money back. The mould had made me very ill. It was not only on the grout but on the slate tiles as well.
Great accomodation - just far enough out of town to be quiet and peaceful, but definitely enough not to be a bother. I really enjoyed this accomodation and would recommend to others.
This was our second time staying at this charming and unique place. The host was wonderful, and the cottage proved everything we needed. Loved the vintage decor and the peaceful surroundings. Can't wait for our next visit!
Rustic cottage in quiet rural location; 10-15 minutes to Albany; ample parking; great shower, very comfortable bed with lovely linen, oil heaters for winter comfort. Greg met us on arrival and the fridge was stocked with hearty breakfast items. Antique shop on same site. Enjoyed our stay
We enjoyed a much-needed quiet comfortable stay. Used as home base for our day trips out and about, slept well every night. Walking distance to excellent antique store nearby and many attractions to visit in the region to keep you busy for days.
The property is beautiful and the location is great. The layout is a little different with the kitchen and bathroom both accessed through the bedroom. Has a comfy lounge and TV/DVD player. The host was lovely, calling to check in and welcome us. A lovely breakfast was left which was greatly appreciated. Antique store is right next door and has a great range of items.

Countryside cottage
Lovely old antiques, comfy beds, we were there during a hot spell and there was no fans. Turntable in microwave didnt turn.Nice breakfast provided in fridge.
We loved our time as the Gate keepers! We enjoyed many a cup of tea on the verandah, watching the little birds. The brekkie provisions were most appreciated - yum! Greg was helpful when we needed him but left us to our own devices the rest of the time. In a word: perfect!

The cottage is very quaint, but the overall cleanliness is not good.I had to remove the quilt from our bed as it was dirty and stained. Idid leave a note for the owner saying about the quilt and that the cottage need's a huge spring clean.Do you actually check out your properties? This picture is nothing like we arrived to , very grubby tablecloth,4 extremely grubby chairs and an old carpet mat at the front door. The washing up in the kitchen has to be done in a small bathroom sink without hot water connected.overall we were disappointed.the cottage itself is lovely, and with some tlc could be really nice.
Summer holiday at the Gate Keepers Cottage, Willyung
A very quaint, secluded, quiet and private cottage. Not too far out of town, with a lovely cottage garden and grassy yard space.
We stayed for one week over the summer break and found the cottage, due to the thick walled historical building was cool in temperature. Considering there is no kitchen, there is a small room with fridge and sink and bench space available for smaller food preparation, we coped well. The bbq was well used, by us, along with visits into the town for a great range of takeaways or dine in options. I would definitely return to Willyung Gate Keepers Cottage again.

Gatekeepers Cottage
On arrival it looked delightful, but entering it was cobwebbed and not clean. There were too many electric leads about the kitchen. No hot water in the kitchen made it very hard . The way the rooms were guests had to access a bedroom to reach bathroom and kitchen. This could be easily remedied by making the lounge a bedroom and the bedroom a lounge.
Overall it was disappointing because the situation was excellent. We appreciated the breakfast goodies and the splendid bedding
What the photos don't show is that the water supply comes from a rain water tank which, after a long, dry summer, delivers tea coloured water. The place was tidy but not clean. The kitchen was an alcove with a tiny sink, no oven or stove top and a tiny table which would not have been adequate for food preparation.
The rooms in this old stone building smelled of mould although when I mentioned this the host disagreed with me.
Property in lovely quiet area but we left as soon as we could due to the smell of black mould resulting in breathing difficulties, found live mouse under tea towel, cobwebs, thick dust in bedroom. Although breakfast is supposedly supplied there was only enough for 2 out of 4 days. Two bath towels supplied for three people. No response from property manager. I found the property not fit for purpose due to its unhygienic condition.
