Stunning, tranquil location and beautiful, historic house
This is an incredibly unique and beautiful property. I will never forget the memories we had here as a family - swimming in the waterhole, wandering in the beautiful grounds, seeing deer and other wildlife all around, eating meals in the spacious mill house and enjoying a cold beer in the evening at the outside table with the tree lights on. It is a very unique place and I recommend it highly!
The kitchen was chef's quality. The rooms were large and spacious. The open floor plan encouraged socializing. The waterfall and swimming hole were exceptional. The guest cottage was a surprising bonus. The pond and sauna were a relaxing diversion. Outdoor meals on the grand table were a treat I could go on and on, but hopefully readers get the picture. The property is exceptional, historic, gigantic, woodsy, full of birds and wildlife and amazingly maintained. We'll be back! Hopefully!
A terrific 4 day escape from our covid-stuck routine at home. The house and grounds were lovely and we had everything we needed. For anyone who likes to cook, it was a very well stocked kitchen in terms of cookware and such. Would definitely look to go back in warmer weather to enjoy the outdoor activities more.
The house was just stunning and it was so fun to just get away. The kitchen was amazing and we were able to cook, listen to music, dance, play games, romp outside and just have fun!
Great stay! We had an outstanding weekend of outdoor fun and relaxation. Thank you.

Meet In The Middle
This amazing house is half-way between our 2 two sons and their families. We had a fantastic “meet in the middle” weekend. Our hosts Lisa and Dan were very accommodating. The kitchen is fantastic for any meal you want to prepare.
Our favorite part was sitting outside in the courtyard around the fire. The waterfall on the property offered a great gathering spot. All in all a super weekend getaway!
Warren Mill is a little slice of heaven. My husband and I hosted a friends get away there last weekend. We’ve stayed at several VRBO properties and this gem is by far the most comfortable and well stocked home we’ve rented. The property is very clean and the owners, Dan and Lisa, could not have been more accommodating. I highly recommend this property to anyone who is looking for the perfect spot to make memories with the people you love. You will not be disappointed.
Lovely property and the most relaxing place we have ever been. Great kitchen with everything you could possibly need. To stay there is like stepping back in time. Would LOVE to go back!
This long weekend away was perfect for our family. The house is wonderful. The kitchen is amazing! We spent time together in the courtyard under the trees, took long walks by the river, and hung out by the waterfall. We were completely off the grid! I highly recommend this home if you want to get away and relax with family.
We had a wonderful family getaway! The house was spacious, with plenty for the kids to do. The kitchen was roomy and well-equipped for cooking meals for a large family meal. Our highlight was lounging and swimming at the private swimming hole on the property.
Loved the unique old house with big open living area and kitchen, but the opportunity to have the big outdoor property complete with waterfall and swimming hole, and walkability to the James River swimming area, knocked it out of the park! Bonus was tons of toys for the kids, and owner was very responsive to questions and had great recommendations for things to do in the area.
We loved our recent stay at Warren Mill! This quiet and peaceful location allowed everyone aged 9 through adult to get outside and find their moment of zen. With private creekside swimming, a short and lovely walk to float down the James River, nature galore and beautiful grounds we felt the chaos of the daily grind melt away. The house itself was spotless, roomy and well stocked - I even used a crock pot for a big dinner that cooked all day so we could enjoy the great outdoors! Lisa and Dan were wonderful hosts. We would love to make this an annual trip!
The property is gorgeous. Usually listing pictures exaggerate a place, but here they don't do it justice: its a "wow" house. An old mill reconverted into a three story house with plenty of charm. We were three couples with small children and loved our long weekend here: large first floor allowing plenty of space for the children to play and for us to cook or relax when keeping an eye on them. The house is very well equipped and stocked with everything you need: amazing gourmet kitchen, toys for the kids, books, music, TV, etc. The bedrooms are big, comfortable and very silent as you are away from the road. The exposed brick, with the central staircase and the gourmet kitchen give this house a feeling of staying in those places you see on design magazines. Dan and Lisa were super nice and accommodating even letting us check-in a bit early and check-out late. We are already thinking of when we can come back again. Thanks so much for everything!
A unique, charming experience. Great location for large family gathering. Large gourmet kitchen, made it easy for all to prepare and serve our Thanksgiving meal.
Only negative, Wi Fi reception poor, One member of our party was required to work, and the poor reception made it difficult for her. (kids were a bit unhappy too, but they got over it, with all the board games that we brought with us.)
Overall, our family was very happy and totally enjoyed our stay at Warren Mill. Thank you Dan and Lisa Schneider.

The Perfect Getaway!
This beautiful, spacious home was perfect for our girls getaway weekend. Even with a group of 12, we all had space to relax in. The giant living room was perfect for a game night and we had a blast cooking together in the gorgeous kitchen that has every appliance and kitchen gadget you could need. It’s wonderful to be secluded out in the country but still able to get to all Charlottesville has to offer as well as many local wineries and breweries where we spent our Saturday. The hosts are onsite and eager to help with questions and recommendations, but it still feels private and like you have your own space.
This is a beautiful home with a ton of space and lots of amenities, both inside and outside the house. We had a very peaceful weekend with friends and family and could not have been more please. The living area is open, inviting, and has a few areas that you can settle down in and enjoy a quite place to read or take a nap. The bedrooms are comfortable with plenty of space for everyone. Kitchen is great for cooking for yourself or a large group. It is worth the trip to Central Virginia!

We'll be back
Thank you, thank you for sharing this wonderful home with us! We wanted to recreate a family weekend like we used to have in a W. VA house our parents owned. This fit the bill perfectly! Every one of us had a terrific time. Your family-animals and all-are friendly and welcoming. We'll be back!

A Sanctuary for the Soul
Thank you for sharing this charming, one-of-a-kind get-away with the Great Dame Society Book Club of Midlothian, VA. The cozy setting indoors and the glorious nature outdoors made for a most satisfying and refreshing retreat. The beds were comfortable and everything from the kitchen --to enough sitting in the great room made us feel at home. Yet, we were very grateful for this time away to rejuvenate. God Bless you.

Charming Virginia rental
We are a large family hailing from NY, Mass, and NC! Here is a list of our most memorable moments--
Walking to the waterfall, crossing the creek, paddling to Scottsville, running the rapids, listening to the trains, putting pennies on the tracks, fires outside in the evening, wine tasting and hours of wine drinking, exploring the interesting ambiance here, enjoying the fresh herbs in the garden, cooking in your state-of-the-art kitchen, exploring the bamboo forest, biking was great, sleeping in the book-nook, the gardens at Monticello, Charlottesville, the Scottsville bar and dancing with the locals, the beautiful mornings, and fantastic evenings, having room to cook together, the records, learning the history here, collecting coal.
Warren Mill fit our family well-perfect for my grandparents' 60th anniversary and a birthday. We hope to return someday!
