Visited with my puppy, Archie, and had a lovely time. It was in a serene area filled with deer, rabbits, and surprise plane landings/takeoffs. Would love the opportunity to visit again for an escape from the city.

The wildlife and planes are both lots of fun to watch. Enough activity to enjoy but not too much to be a distraction from the surrounding beauty.
Property was just as advertised, no frills but just what we needed. The air strip was an added bonus for entertainment. Nice quiet and private. Thank you

The private airport is a charming feature that many of our guests enjoy. This is no Sea-Tac airport. We say on a busy day there might be 5 small, single engine planes that takeoff.

Clean. Quiet. Relaxing.
We enjoyed our stay at the Air park. My husband was particularly excited because he recently earned his private pilot license. If you’ve never been to a small Air park, no worries on noise or odd hours of planes coming and going. it was fun to see them. This particular owner is very responsive to questions and needs. When asked about a hairdryer, he made sure there was one there. Of course, had I known there was no air conditioning in the unit, I would likely have asked for a fan. No worries to the next group, we left a fab. We also left a can opener, a spatula, and some additional kitchen towels. Towels was the one thing I have to knock this location in. We got one towel and one wash cloth for our week long stay. I would have preferred more. One might be ok if there were a washer and dryer. We also only got one kitchen towel. That might be ok if there were a dishwasher, but two towels is kind of a minimum without one. We also had to throw away the stinky sponge, but we replaced it with a scrubber. Other suggestions to be added to the property: coffee cups, a broom, folding chairs for the front porch, and a grill. We had to leave some groceries behind because we realized it was too hot to cook inside without ac. Over all, this space met all of our expectations and beyond. If in the area again, we would definitely return. Again, love the responsiveness of the owner. Very accommodating.

We love getting rood reviews and feedback from our guests. We also love the suggestions which we always consider and mostly implement changes.
We have added coffee cups, a broom and some additional kitchen stuff. We have also recently added some deck chairs and a nice deck umbrella to keep the afternoon sun at bay.
the pictures and description are very accurate. the planes are small and mostly purr. they fly at reasonable hours. the host was very responsive and the pace was well cleaned. the only challenges for us were that the water smells of sulfur and no sink area or shelves for bathroom items.

Quiet and simple
Very clean and quiet small house, located in a secluded area in middle of south Whidbey. Owner would be wise to add and upgrade a few furnishings, particularly a dishwasher to be able to better clean and sanitize kitchen glasses, silverware, etc. The well water, as in many areas on the island, needs to be filtered to avoid that unpleasant sulfuric smell. Convenient location near Langley and Freeland to use as a base for exploring the nearby attractions and coastal views. Interesting small airfield nearby.
This property was mostly as expected - a bright, open, small home. It was nice that the location was very rural but also close to downtown. One thing not mentioned in the listing that may be important to some renters is that the house is located on a gravel road, but the road was in good condition.
The rental is also attached to a larger house which is occupied by long term tenants. The only time I heard them was in the middle of the night one night, as the bedroom wall is shared with their home. Plane traffic was minimal and it was a nice mile long walk around the air strip.
Very pleasant stay on beautiful Whidbey Island. The cabin was very comfortable. Enjoyed the complete kitchen and full size refrigerator. I would advise bringing bottled water for drinking. The water is heavy with iron and has an unpleasant odor. The airfield had more traffic than I expected. Only occasional annoyance though, by folks walking across the field in front of the cabin. The front door should have blinds for more privacy!
I spent 14 days here quarantining because I was coming into Washington from another state. It was a perfect place for quarantining. I was able to stay on the property and walk my dog and I didn’t have contact with anyone during the time I was here.
Everything was as advertised. Wish the unpaved gravel road would have been mentioned as I was concerned about my small old sedan but all worked out well. I would suggest to add a stepstool (I am short at 5'2" and had a hard time reaching the shelf in the closet), some blankets, a tea kettle, shelves in the bathroom, a screendoor in the front and also curtains or blinds in the front.a bowl in the kitchen to mix a salad, a fly swatter and some more lamps in the front room - especially since there a plenty of outlets.

No blankets!?
We were provided with sheets and pillow cases, but no blankets. We called and emailed and got no response. One of us used a dirty emergency blanket from our car and the other used towels. In the morning we tried again to reach the property manager and a guy dropped off two bedspreads, with a grunt instead of an apology, and STILL no blankets. Our friends lent us blankets for the next two nights.

Beth, We're sorry to hear that you experienced some issues during your stay. We and the homeowner would like to share the following:
-The cleaning staff removed the comforters to get them professionally
cleaned and forgot to mention this to the owner.
-Once notified, the owner responded within a couple of hours and dropped off new comforters at the first chance they could in the morning.
-They were not aware your group wanted blankets and were only made aware of the missing comforters.
-The owner tried to avoid contact as much as possible due to social distancing guidelines- we're sorry if this came off unhospitable.
We're confident that this owner will continue to provide excellent guest service and five-star experiences!
And it was really nice! The pictures are accurate (other than looking bigger in the pictures which was not a big deal) stocked with pretty much all the utensils and gadgets that you could need!! Nice guidebook to help us folks that don't know the island get around.
So all and all, we would definitely rent from this owner again! Now if only you controlled the weather!! ;)

Whidbey Painting Retreat
Overall it was fine. Clean and very interesting setting. Upon my arrival and for the duration of my stay I smelled a musty odor that I think may have been cigarette smoke coming from the residence that was attached. The last night I was there it was missing and coincidentally the person who resides there had been gone overnight. My host responded to a request for an Umbrella (for the porch) which was much appreciated.
Great property with extremely nice property manager. The only thing I would suggest is to buy more kitchen utensils and dinnerware. We had to buy a few things at a local store to be able to cook.
Quiet, comfortable, isolated, fun airplane runway.
We visited Langley Mystery Weekend and were not within walking distance but we were close to the Coffee Roasters. The space was comfortable, warm, & interesting.. We wish it was ready when we arrived but were greeted with less than finished bedding & vacuuming.. A maid arrived later to finish. It was fine. It was quiet and economical.
We loved this place, it was so quiet and peaceful even with the air strip right by the house. We watched a few planes take off and land and it wasn't too loud.
If you have a dog, you are allowed to take them into the Mukilteo Cafe. Order your food and drink and the staff will show you which door you can take your dog through.
The cottage was very nice, clean and warm. Check in was easy as well. I would perhaps ask the owner to perhaps add a baking sheet, and new can opener and some oven mitts to the kitchen supplies for those of us that are cooking. Otherwise the beds were comfy and the little coffee shop down the road was quite welcoming. Nice stay!
I hesitate to review this cottage because it's so special and I don't want it to get overrun! Exactly as presented, it's a wonderful guest house on a private airfield. As a pilot, I couldn't resist! Great remodel, comfortable, no frills. I can't recommend it enough. (BTW, the wifi is excellent.)
The location is über quiet, remote-ish, with dark nights. A great weekend getaway for something a little unusual. A few planes fly in and out during the day but it's no big deal (especially if you like planes). You can expect deer and other critters to visit too.
Again, it's comfortable but no frills (limited cookware/stemware, no laundry, no dishwasher) so check with the owner when booking to find out what you need to bring. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there with my puppy (yep, dog-friendly although the pet fee seems a bit high) and will stay there again without hesitation.

Many guests do love the quiet setting yet close proximity to "downtown" Langley. We continue to add more amenities including additional cookware so that future guests will continue to enjoy this place even more!
Wished I could have stayed longer but on to my next adventure! The Whidbey Airpark was a sweet surprise watching a few planes taking off on a runway bordered by tall pine trees.
Property is bright, comfortable and airy with all the windows. Bed was comfy and bath shower was large. Great WiFi for watching movies on my device. Did not even miss a tv.
Please add corkscrew and coffee mugs.
Thank you!

If you are looking for minimal needs for your stay, this is your place.
A newly remodeled cabin at the North end of Whidbey Airpark. Cabin is very nicely remodeled but needs a few additions for use. Twin beds very comfy, bath shower wonderful but could sure use a light above the bath sink in fixture provided, very few and inadequate towels & washcloths, kitchen cookware very sparce, only overhead lighting--no lamps for reading, parking quite difficult, bath needs some shelving on the wall, front door is all glass & not covered for night, a wood drying rack would be nice to hang towels to dry on, neighbors very close, good closet space in bedroom with lots of hangers. It served our purpose for a short stay. A very quiet area with only small planes on the runway during the daytime..no jets. Beautiful, serene area. Coffee shop & restaurant close by.

This guest has made some good suggestions which we have taken in to consideration and we will use to improve the guest house. A couple of the items we actually addressed before we received this review as they were on our list. We have replace new towels/washcloths and a added couple lamps. The other items we will be addressing asap.
