Hopkins on Charles – C.1934 This stately 4 bedroom residence has been beautifully renovated with all traditional features, such as the magnificent stained timber architraves, picture rails and mantles, all of which have been preserved for you to enjoy. - Complimentary Wi-Fi available, hi-speed NBN also available at additional cost. - Up to 10 guests. 2 x Queen master bedrms + 2 x's King Single bedrms + dble sofa - Fully ducted central heating and air conditioning to all rooms. - 2 bathrooms with gas hot water with full temperature selection and convenience. - electric blankets in each of the bedrooms. Extra blankets and pillows are available. - Ample parking for up to 4 vehicles if required. - Fully equipped kitchen - Large separate lounge, sunroom and dining room.
Being adjacent the Moonah Shopping Precinct, it is in a great central location for shopping, restaurants, and access to attractions and only 10 minutes from the Hobart CBD and 5 mins to MONA (Museum of New and Modern Art)
- There are two huge master bedrooms, each with quality and comfortable pillow top queen mattress, one with an ensuite, plus two additional bedrooms, both with beautiful Tasmanian Oak polished floors containing twin King Single beds as well as a double fully sprung divan in the dining room. - A lovely feature is the huge formal lounge is with its magnificent original, "ornamental fireplace" and craftsman built mantle piece along with the traditional bay windows overlooking the front garden. - A separate sunroom catches the morning sun and is a delightful place to contemplate the day ahead in one of the leather swivel chairs. - The formal dining room also contains the original mantle and another ornamental fireplace along with an 8-seat dining suite and comfortable divan that converts to a double bed should it be required. - The separate kitchen, which was fully renovated several years ago is spacious and comes complete with a smaller dining suite. A unique feature is the under bench wall oven and hot plates built into the original kitchen fireplace. - There are two bathrooms for your convenience as well as a fully equipped laundry with auto washing machine and dryer and laundry trough. -OUTDOORS There is a private undercover patio/barbeque area with outdoor setting adjacent the fully enclosed lawned back yard.

The location of the property in relation to Hobart is brilliant and getting to and from is easy. The property itself is lovely. The rooms are spacious. Beds are wonderfully comfortable, sheets and towels lovely Getting in and out of the property by car can be an issue as is located on a roundabout on a busy street and if you are in a front bedroom being woken early morning while on holiday leaves a little to be desired. Plenty of shopping/restaurants within walking distance. All in all lovely house.

Memorable Hobart Stay
The house was very well kept and clean. Spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The old design of the house was very appealing.
The only downside was that the kitchen was very small and not having a dishwasher meant a very large amount of time was spent cleaning the dishes when having a group of 10 people.
The kitchen sink had issues with draining.
The door security code unit also was very hard to operate as it kept refusing to accept the code and required several attempts to get it right.
However the location was very convenient and close to all stores and places we wanted to visit.
Overall We had a great stay and the kids had so much games and activities.

We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay in this period grand house.
Re the sink, it is also a sinkerator, however recently some guests have allowed small non compostable items such as teaspoons etc to enter the muncher causing all sorts of problems. We have therefore had to install a strainer which prevent this. The strainer while slowing the water exit still drains fine, just more slowly.
Better safe than sorry.
Re the electronic key lock, every guest is provided with their own secure 6 digit code which once used overides the previous guests code to keep the premises safer and secure for you.
Unfortunately, some guests experience problems in holding their finger too long on a digit(s) while entering the code causing the lock to bring up an error code.
Most guests fortunately have no problem with their code entry..
We are sorry to hear that you experienced difficulties in entering your code on some occasions.

clean, comfortable and in a convenient location. Situated on a popular roundabout, it did become a bit noisy during peak times of the day and later in the night and started early in the mornings. Plenty of space to park vehicles off street.

Hi Brad, Thank you for posting a review of your recent stay on Hopkins on Charles.
Being centrally located some traffic noise is noticeable at times, however with the residence being constructed of double brick this reduces a high proportion of it.
Its probably no noisier that similar high traffic properties however if you come from a low traffic area you would certainly notice the difference.
Glad that you found it clean, convenient and comfortable.
Perfect house for large group. Plenty of living areas to enjoy time together and apart.
