Great location opposite to sunset beach. However the one bedroom apartment had a very bad smell of mold. In bathroom, wardrobe and sink was terrible smell around and the furniture was extremely old.

Place was right for the price but management was nothing but a headache
I flew in to take care of my sister after having hip surgery stayed a couple days and everything was fine but after we checked out she accused us of having a party smoking weed and staying an extra night fast forward to a couple days later I get a bill for them trying to make me pay for extensive floor damage, replace the futon and an extreme cleaning. The place was literally only to sleep and we never partied nobody even smokes weed that I was with it was pretty much so I could be there and take care of my sister when we bought the reservation we included the insurance so when we were asked to pay the additional fine I found it weird how it was not going through the insurance I also find it weird how all these big damages appeared after literally just sleep in there. Out of our 27 Guest reviews, 90% are 5 Star.
Mahalo for taking the time to write a review, even if the score of 1 is highly unwarranted.
We could've have taken care of your misinformation if you had the moment to return our text or call. There was no problem while you were there, but after you left the property. The sister (assuming not the one with hip operation since this one could drive & walk) who was hanging with you during your stay, came back after you left with an unknown friend - one of them made a bong from a soda can, we have the pictures; someone in your extended party smoked pot in the Cottage, dragged the futon over the natural wood floors, broke zipper to futon and then stayed extra night. We did ask you to take care of the extra night but never asked or even mentioned anything in text or voice message about the extra cleaning charges, damage to floor or futon - we put in an insurance claim (only 2nd one in all the years) to take care of it, since you had the protection. Would have been nice if we could have spoken. Mahalo.
We spent an 10 days staying at this peaceful cottage and loved every minute. The accommodations are spacious, comfortable, and have everything you need. It is just a short walk to some world class beaches with great surfing and swimming. After a long day at the ocean or hiking one of Oahu's beautiful trails, fall asleep in the comfortable bedroom to the sound of the waves breaking on sunset beach. The owners are super friendly and made our stay very special. We look forward to returning soon.
The cottage is simple and awesome... has everything you need. The owners are around and friendly, but not intrusive. Super close to sunset beach, pipeline and the sunrise shack which has great coffee! Panda has pretty good thai food too :)

Love the lush setting and 3 minute walk to the best surfing in northshore
My daughter and I loved the house and the owners. We are avid surfers and really enjoyed walking to Sunset beach. Property manager, Annastasia was great to work with and professional.

More Amazing the Second Time
This was our second stay this year. Both times we were welcomed and made to feel like part of the family. Great, clean unit set in paradise. Porter and Anastasia are both so welcoming and easy to work with. We will always try and come back! The second time was even more awesome than the first! Mahalo and see you soon!

Great local beach house ! Great location.
Great hosts from the start... Great beach house with even better location. Short walk to Sunset Beach and Pipeline !
Described as “spacious, airy, and clean,” it is actually cramped, hot, and bug-infested. It is not a freestanding cottage, but a 1 bedroom apartment split off a house. It only has windows on two adjacent sides, so no cross breezes and limited natural light. Even at night, when it was cool outside, the unit remained extremely hot, and the two fans (one very small, one very weak, both covered in grime) were totally inadequate. What is described in the ad as a portable AC unit is an evaporative cooler, which works best in arid climates – which Hawaii is not.
When we told Annastacia we were very hot and uncomfortable, she sent over an additional fan. However, the next day, the fan was needed for guests in another unit, so THEY TOOK IT AWAY FROM US. Annastacia said they were going to get us a new one, but a day and a half later with no new fan we decided to leave and find another place to stay.
As for clean, we did find the unit to be clean when we arrived, save the gigantic dead roach in the kitchen which was being devoured by a horde of ants. There were ants everywhere, and we killed several roaches over the course of our stay. When we raised the issue of the pests, Annastacia emphasized that they don’t use pesticides – which is great, but if I had known that the place would therefore be infested with ants and roaches, I might have made a different choice about where to say. Also, if they are as concerned about the environment as they claim, they should recycle!
The ad says that there is laundry for guests who stay at least 7 days. A few days before arrival, we received a list of rules, which outlined many restrictions around doing laundry. First, you can only do ONE load per 7 day stay, and any additional loads are $10 each. You can only do laundry during certain hours, only use cold water, etc.
The ad says that the futon and the bed are comfortable - I found both very uncomfortable.
We stayed in several vacation rentals during our trip, and this was our only bad experience. We were told by Annastacia that it was a "heat wave" and that "everyone in Hawaii was uncomfortable" but somehow, we regained comfort as soon as we left this place.
Annastacia responded to the concerns we raised by making sure we understood that everything was our own fault. No apology for anything, which would have gone a long way - just excuses/blaming us. I'm sure she will do the same thing in her response to this review, so you can see for yourself.

Mahalo for taking time to write a review even if it is an unwarranted 1 Star review vs our customary 5 Star reviews submitted by over
25 previous guests; nor does it reflect a Premier Partners known hospitality.
Ironically the only negative reviews we have received are from Guests who played a major role in the issues complained about.
We respond as quickly as possible via phone, text, email as well as in person if needed.
True this guest came during a heat wave where
tropical pests are nuance throughout the
islands but when guests leave sugary drinks
left opened all over the place, food crumbs in the kitchen with personal belongings strewn everywhere doesn't help keeping pests at bay; as our cleaning crew reported when they went to address issues guests notified us of asap.
As relayed in phone call to guest, when running a portable A/C for hours on end, water levels must be refilled to give optimum cold air.
Why guests would choose to stay inside all day long while visiting paradise - instead of walking 3 minutes and enjoy the beautiful pacific ocean is perplexing to us - as that is how most guests choose experience our beauty, each day, never mind during a tropical heat wave.
As the entire North Shore is on a septic system we do/will have issue when guests arrive and first thing they want to do is many multiples laundry loads when they are with us for only four nights; due to the lines we only have cold water running thru our washer machine.
We understand we can't please everyone, every time, though we usually do 99% of the time.

Great location close to Sunset Beach
The cottage was located close to Sunset Beach and a little food stand that sold great coffee, smoothies, and snacks. The folks that lived on the property were all friendly as were the neighbors. A Thai food truck serves good food several days of the week at the end of the lane. The owner of the property where the food truck is stationed makes carved wooden bowls, etc. In the true Hawaiian tradition.

Relaxed Stay on the North Shore
The description in the listing is spot on. If you are looking for a resort, then you should probably keep looking, but if you'd like somewhere in a great location at a great value that is laid back and fun, then this is it. We stayed for six days in October with our two-year-old and had a great time. It was a perfect home base for exploring the beaches, food trucks, and everything the North Shore has to offer.

Beautiful grounds, basic accommodation at excellent Northshore location
We stayed for two weeks in the 1-bedroom suite. Sunset beach, down the lane and across the street is spectacular and great to be so close to. The suite is situated in a gorgeous property with all sorts of fruit trees, flowers, and outdoor shower. This is the country so be prepared for very early roosters calling right outside your window starting at 4-5am (and throughout the day). The accommodations are basic but the kitchen has most of the equipment that you'll need to cook your own meals. Be prepared for insects inside the house - just part of the ecosystem (wash up and keep food in the fridge). We rented bikes for the two weeks, which is a great way to get around the northshore (via bike path and bus). Porter, Ed, and Annastacia are all super friendly, kind and accommodating. Most importantly, this is an absolutely stunning, beautiful, and relaxing part of the world. We had a great time and would love to return one day.

Great!
Other than the early morning wake-ups from the crowing roosters, the place was awesome. Perfect size, clean, and comfortable. It would have been nice to find a little bit of food for us in the fridge for the first morning, but perhaps that's not how VRBO works.

Perfect cottage
We loved the cottage so much. The location was perfect, right near Sunset beach. It was also close to various food trucks and outdoor fruit stands. The hosts are amazing as well. They sent us directions exactly how to get to the place, as GPS can be a little spotty. The directions she emailed us also contained information about the nearby areas, famers market, and beaches. It was very helpful! The cottage itself was clean and had everything we needed with a propane grill out front. We absolutely loved staying in the North shore and will definitely be back to the cottage WHEN we return!

Relaxing in a Comfortable Cottage - Surrounded by Beauty
My husband and I enjoyed a relaxing week in this well-equipped cottage just across the street from Sunset Beach on the North Shore of Oahu. Surrounded by beautiful flowers, coconut palms and other fruit-bearing trees, we loved sitting on our deck and hearing the ocean waves in the background. Our host and hostess were gracious, even sharing fresh eggs produced by the hens that roam about the property.

Quiet, peaceful, secluded little place
We loved the location and proximity to the beach. The property is nestled back on a road, and very private. I initially worried about the 1 bedroom being connected to the rest of the house (studio and owners quarters) but we had total privacy and it was very quiet. We would walk down the road early mornings and watch the sunrise and sunsets on the beach...literally just a few minute walk. We would definitely return!

This spot is perfect for young families. The property is beautiful and the bung
We absolutely loved our time here. The house is in the perfect spot on the North Shore. You are tucked away up a quiet street, yet Sunset beach and the bike path so close. We rented bikes from North Shore bike rentals for the week and the boys loved cruising up and down the North Shore to grab food or check out other beaches. We love to hike and there are some beauties all around the North Shore. Obviously the beaches were incredible and we spent a majority of our time there. Porter was so gracious and kind. Always there to answer any questions or help us out with anything. The boys loved exploring the property, and absolutely fell in love with Porter’s dog Hachi.
Overall, we loved every minute of our stay and can’t wait to come back .
