We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at the lake house. The fireplace made it feel warm and cosy. The location was great, and surrounded by beautiful natural scenery. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return."
We had an amazing, serene stay at the lake house. The indoor fire was very cozy, kitchen and bathroom were lux. Close by to Mt Buller and lots of beautiful nature.
We had a great weekend at the Howqua Lake House.Despite the poor weather and fishing, the house was warm, cozy and comfortable with the indoor fireplace being a major asset We would happily return in future.
The house's new renovation in the kitchen and bathroom are beautiful and functional. The house is adorable and comfy. The location is perfect. Although the weather wasn't great for fishing it was perfect for sitting by the fire and watching the view. The communication with the host is great. We had a beautiful stay and would highly recommend it.
The property was pleasant, the triange home was an enjoyable novelty for the family. However, space was limited especially in the bedrooms as most people in our family are tall. New and modern kitchen and bathroom. Deck view was amazing with many birds coming to visit. Good TV and modern appliances.

Best choice for holiday, 30mins to Mansfield, good lake view in the morning.
Everything is wonderful!!!! Clean and tidy. Heater, TV,and WiFi working every well, the view is fantastic.
Melissa was very nice to talk with.
Definitely stay this place again next time.
Can't explain just how perfect this property is in such an idyllic part of the world.
Loads of wildlife coming to visit at the same time every morning and night, perfect fires out by the water, picturesque views and blankets of stars.
We'll be back!
The house was perfect size for our small group. The views from the large outdoor deck were stunning and were worth a lot more than the price of the accommodation. Location was short drive from Mansfield, horse riding in Man From Snowy River country and then drinks at Jamieson Brewery . Look forward to returning in summer to get access to Lake Eildon right in the backyard.

Shabby and overpriced!
We were very disappointed! this property was totally misrepresented in the description on the website but I guess that the proprietor must have written it.
The property is rated as 4.5 stars but should by 2. It is unclean and poorly appointed with stained pillows and quilts , tight and unsafe access to the top bunks in bedrooms 2 and 3.
The bathroom and laundry is really a laundry with a shower and inaccessible basin in opposite corners.
there is an old Pajero, and an old couch at the rear of the property that add to the general junk feel.
My family collectively decided to leave after the first night, I have requested a refund for the second nights accommodation but cannot get her to respond !
We loved our stay at Lake House.
It was an older style house in a fantastic location.
Well stocked kitchen (heaps of crockery and cutlery), with two fridges, a stove and microwave.
We came from Melbourne, and it was about 25 minutes past Mansfield. Jamieson about ten minutes further up the road. We had to double back to Mansfield for some grocery shopping, as there’s nowhere else to shop. We visited Mansfield Zoo, which was pretty good.
Jamieson was quite stunning, with autumn leaves of every colour. We also took a day trip to Woods Point, which was an adventurous drive to a little backwater town, but a fun day and something to laugh about later.
The house is right on the waters edge, and we’d taken our SUPs and had a lovely paddle right there on the lake.
Theres a pontoon in the yard, which we fished from (not a bite, but fun nonetheless). At one point our 13 year old daughter disappeared and we realised she’d walked down to the water and cast in a line, which is a refreshing change from playing on her phone in her bedroom.
Jamieson brewery did a fantastic meal.
We took our dog and he had a brilliant time.
Lots of birds, especially after rain.
A night sky that can’t be beat.
Highly recommended. Our teens have already requested that we return next Easter.
Views were absolutely stunning. Loved the outside deck. House was very clean. Inside wood heater made it very cosy on cold nights. Owners provided excellent directions on how to use appliances, etc as well as information on places in the local area. Owners were also very responsive to any questions/queries. Highly recommend this property.
Beds were not very clean, dead fruit flies were in bed and pillows
Overall good place to stay nice views and great location

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
A Frame lake house.
The lake view was amazing, perfect location. The house have too many dead bugs on the window and dead bugs on kitchen bench behind the toater. the whole house a bit undated, the toilet have a cracked in it .The whole place lacked homey feel, no paper towels was provided, no bath mat and no facial tissues. The little things that make a difference. I didnt enjoy my stay there so I wont be coming back, thete was no value for money.
Peaceful get-away for the family to have some much needed calm. Amazing view and comfortable home.

Enjoyable stay a bit overpriced and photos of what the area is actually like misleading
Photos need to replicate what is it’s actually like There is no water but photo has a view from the house with plenty of water I found it misleading. We also were confronted by the Howqua caravan park owners for driving on the where the water was There were so many other cars four wheel driving and was told it was illegal. Signs clearly say No Motor bikes but apparently he reckons it means cars as well It’s such a shame they want tourists but zero idea . It was one of my favourite places to visit but don’t think I’d recommend to go there again

Great Location!
We chose this property for its location (right on the lake) and 20 min drive to Mansfield and a further 30 min to Mt Buller. The views are spectacular and the accommodation suited our weekend stay. Heating is good for the winter months and handy to have wifi also. Thanks for the great stay.
Cheers
