Moonwaters Holiday Cottage

Moonwaters is the most romantic getaway, overlooking Wilson Inlet on Weedon Hill. This cedar clad cottage sits amongst the Karri forest where a path leads to the Bibbulmun Track and a beautiful inlet beach. Moonwaters is simple yet has all the modern comforts for a family or couple. If you are seeking romantic seclusion it is perfect. There are three bedrooms, living and dining rooms, a bathroom with bath and a well-equipped kitchen. Chilly winter holidays can be spent bushwalking or at home by the pot belly stove with the piano, DVDs, free WIFI and Netflix to keep you entertained. You can barbeque amongst the trees to the sounds of the forest. Keep an eye out for the myriad of birds that will visit if an offering is made. About 3kms from Denmark town on Weedon Hill, Moonwaters is ideally situated to visit beaches, wineries and other local attractions. Moonwaters has a main bedroom with a queen sized bed, built in robe, bedside tables and a chest of drawers, another bedroom with a double bed and a third bedroom with twin single beds. All linen and towels are supplied. There are two rates: The high season covers school holidays including Easter and Christmas and New Year and all public holiday weekends. All other times are classified as low season. If you have friendly and well trained pets you are welcome to bring them along, however, we would appreciate it if you didnt allow them on the beds and furniture. A cleaning surcharge of $35 will apply to all approved pets that stay at Moonwaters.

It really is one of the best parts of the place, isn’t it? There’s something about sitting out on the decking, especially in the late afternoon, that just slows everything down a notch. This is exactly why Moonwaters exists. Peace, quiet, that little glimpse of the inlet through the trees that makes you stop mid-sentence and just stare for a minute. I’m especially glad you loved feeding the birds. They’ve basically appointed themselves as part of the welcome committee at this point. We found the rooms very clean. The host was informative before our visit and let us know that he would be in Perth and to expect some delay in responding to queries. From a pet point of view, the whole place is quite good. We made a lot of use of the kitchen and were able to prepare our meals easily with the facilities provided.

We paid for 4 guests (only 2 came due to illness) only 2 towels. One bed had what looked like dried blood on the bedding. In visitors book it was commented that windows were filthy they still are. Whole place for what we were charged could do with a make over.Location and birds wonderful.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the location and the birdlife, that part we can at least consistently get right. I do want to address the concerns you raised. I’ve checked with our cleaning team, and they were quite surprised by the mention of what looked like dried blood on the bedding. This is something we take very seriously, and we weren’t contacted during your stay, which would have allowed us to act immediately. Regarding the towels, there should have been additional ones available in the drawer. It’s possible they were missed, but they are normally stocked for situations like this. As for the windows, we have a professional window cleaning company that services the property monthly, and they were cleaned today. That said, we’ll follow this up again to ensure standards are being maintained between visits. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. It helps us tighten things up where needed, even if it would have been far more helpful to know at the time rather than after the fact.

This was the second time we stayed at Moonwaters and we love it. We particularly love the view over the forest from the porch and the Little River walk trail right below the cottage that goes along the inlet shoreline.

We never met the host though all communication was okay . The residence did not reflect the online pictures , especially the outside area. It was very dusty and cobwebbed inside. There was a pair of socks behind the TV unit , from a previous guest? Cutlery wasn’t clean or the oven . Damp in the bathroom , the extractor fan in bathroom was very dirty . It’s a shame because the photos did not display the house like this , and we were looking forward to our stay . Disappointed .

Great family holiday

We thoroughly enjoyed our Easter stay at Moonwaters.The property had everything we needed and was in tranquil setting. Close proximity to town, wineries and the pub made a great place to unwind for a few days.

Lovely cottage on the inlet

Lovely location, easy walk down to the inlet and access to town, water, and bush. We had a couple issues with bedding but Christoph was easy to get in touch with and responsive. Love the birds.

The house and surrounds were as described. We enjoyed having the many beautiful birds on the verandah each day. The bath/shower was a bit difficult for us to navigate as both of us have bad backs and are eell into our 70s.

We enjoyed our stay but felt the furnishings were outdated and the bedding certainly could be improved.The bathroom was a big disappointment and needs to be modernised. Mould on the ceiling not a good look. The instruction booklet was not very welcoming and needs to be updated with clearer information, particularly regarding the tv operation. With a little more attention to detail, this could be a better accommodation option.

Very cosy and relaxing, lovely fireplace and facilities to use. Lots of up to date tv/streaming capabilities if you use these. The bedrooms are lovely, although the mattress is quite firm and the frame squeaks when you move at night.Will definitely be back to relax again.
