Our contemporary apartment is the upper storey of a grand Federation home built in 1905. Set in the heart of historic Battery Point, it is a 5 minute walk to the famous Salamanca Market, Mona Ferry Terminal and the shops and restaurants of Hobart's waterfront precinct.
The light airy high ceiling apartment is a generous space for 2, but can comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests. It's great for a weekend break or perfect as your base for a longer stay to explore Hobart and southern Tasmania.
The Penthouse has: 3 bedrooms (1 king, 2 queens) 2 bathrooms (1 main, 1 ensuite) laundry (washing machine and dryer)
The living area comprises a fully equipped kitchen, dining and living areas with sliding doors to a generous outside deck and eating area.
Red Door Penthouse does not accommodate children under 12.
Our sister property Red Door Apartment is a 1 minute walk and is the perfect place for couples. Both the apartment and the penthouse can be booked together for a group of up to 8.

We had wonderful time at this property and would highly recommend it. The hosts were easy to contact, and were wonderful, even putting on the heaters before our arrival. Located in walking distance to the heat of Hobart and the water. We would definitely use this property again.
Such a lovely place to stay with friends or family. An amazing location and extremely comfortable beds to boot! Everything you could ask for to ensure a wonderful stay.

A lovely light filled apartment. Fantastic location near to historic Battery Point and Salamanca. Apartment was very well equipped, comfy beds, and good sized living area. A great home away from home while you enjoy all Hobart has to offer. Despite being on the main road, there is minimal noise.

This apartment occupies the top floor of a federation style house in battery point. Beautifully renovated inside. Comfortable beds. Quite spacious. View to mt Wellington from the back deck. Walk to city / Salamanca. Highly recommend.
We had a girls (3 of us) weekend at the Red Door Penthouse. We didn't have a car so we were very happy that we could walk everywhere, the location is fantastic. The apartment itself was beautifully appointed and very clean. We had a great time. Thank you.
I thought the place was beautifully decorated,warm and very comfortable.Spacious,elegant bedrooms and light filled living area giving wonderful views of Mt Wellington.Edgy,modern luxe furnishings throughout.We all loved it.
This property was perfect for 3 singles seeking a room each. Located within easy walk to Sandy Bay , Battery Point , Salamanca & City Centre.
While we did not self cater the kitchen is well appointed. Onsite parking.

Fresh milk , coffee beans & Breville Machine was an unexpected bonus.
Had a great time revisiting Hobart with us 3 old friends. Apartment was handy to Salamanca Markets and beautiful old buildings which we love, and some great day trips to MONA, Russell Falls, River cruise, Cygnet and Huonville as well as Mt Wellington. We had snow, sunshine and rainbows on this special time on the summit and enjoyed the ever changing view of the mountain through the kitchen window. Negotiating the T junction wasn't fun but great to have off road parking, No Netflix access but there was a pack of cards to keep us entertained. Overall a spacious, handy, equipped and enjoyable home for 6 days.
We had a fabulous family get-together to watch one member of our family participate in Hobart's inaugural 70.3 Ironman. The location of Red Door was magic. We walked almost everywhere, it was close to Salamanca Place, shops, Constitution Dock and Hobart Central. We did have a car and there was good car parking on site.
The apartment was extremely clean, light and welcoming when we arrived with views of kunyani/Mt Wellington and Robin and Kathryn had left an informative information folder.
The apartment was extremely well equipped and we felt very "at home" whilst we stayed.
Robin and Kathryn were excellent in their communication and we would certainly love to visit again in the future.

Windows don't open!
I wish I could give this property 100 % satisfaction. BUT even though the apartment is lovely and has a beautiful terrace and is well equipped, the windows in all three bedrooms were SEALED and could not be opened. We mentioned this to the owner who said that in tasmania, they dont usually have this kind of great weather....open windows has nothing to do with the weather, even if it cool its nice to have fresh air. the road out front was very busy so the apartment noisy with all the doors open for fresh air. The kitchen was well equipped and good to use and the fresh milk in the fridge was a nice touch. And I think guests would also appreciate a couple other groceries, like olive oil, vinegar and a some spices. Other suggestions ....a BBQ on the terrace and a large umbrella for the terrace and since the wondows cant open, a AC unit in all the rooms as the one in the living area cannot cover the bedrooms.

Thank you so much for your feedback. It is great to receive feedback about the Penthouse. We are so pleased you thought the apartment was lovely, had a beautiful terrace and was well equipped. The windows are triple glazed to reduce noise and to ensure a quite nights sleep, which guests often comment on. The reverse cycle air conditioner has been installed to ensure that guests can select their ideal temperature for personal comfort. The opening windows in the lounge room, dining room and kitchen can also assist with airflow. At our home, we struggled with the 34-38 degree heat during the period of your stay also and were very happy when the cooler weather returned. Thank you again for your feedback.
The apartment was just great, comfy beds, lots of room to lounge, a great location and well appointed. There is great information on what to see, where to eat and more. The place is quiet and all three of us said we would come back.
