Hillborne Cottage Perth Hills

HILLBORNE COTTAGE is a self-contained two bedroom cottage in the beautiful Perth Hills at Sawyers Valley. Hillborne borders on, with safe easy access, to the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail, the KEP Track (walk, cycle., horse ride) and the National Trust Golden Pipeline Heritage Drive (Mundaring Weir to Kalgoorlie) and Alps Reserve.

The cottage is perfectly situated for bush walkers, cyclists, and horse riders with numerous tracks and trails all within a stone's throw of "Hillborne", about 5 mins drive, 15 mins off road cycle ride from Mundaring and 45 minutes from Perth. The Munda Biddi Trail, one of the worlds longest off road cycle trails starts in Mundaring.

The cottage, has very comfortable two bedroom accommodation with a queen bed and a second bedroom with two king singles. It has a fully equipped kitchen, sitting and dining area with TV, DVD player, reverse cycle air-conditioning in the living areas, fans in the bedrooms. A large veranda with BBQ to enjoy the beautiful views over the valley and the spectacular glow of the last rays of the sun disappearing up the gum trees.

All linen and towels provided. Tea, coffee, milk, sugar provided and our own free range eggs when available. PLEASE NOTE : MINIMUM TWO NIGHT STAY.

IF YOU ARE WANTING TO BRING YOUR DOG, PLEASE CHECK WITH US BEFORE MAKING A BOOKING, WE DO HAVE A FEW STIPULATIONS.
We welcome horses, by request, the paddock in front of the cottage is
available for visiting equines.


PLEASE NOTE: Access to the cottage is up a short flight of stairs to the verandah, this could be a problem for guests with mobility issues.

Another beautifully relaxing time at Hillbourne - our second stay here! Love that we can bring our dog, he enjoyed roaming freely around the cottage paddock and the local bushwalks we were able to take him on. The eggs provided from the farm hens made a delicious breakfast, and we were easily able to get the fire pit going at night with the provided firewood and starters. Such a lovely little breath of country life only 40mins drive out of Perth, but truely feels like you are hours away from the city!

We enjoyed a very comfortable stay in this idyllic spot in the hills. The cottage was extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. We loved watching the horses and seeing so many birds in the garden. The cottage is very well located within easy walking distance of the trails, which we explored. The hosts were extremely accommodating and welcoming.

We had such a lovely stay, thanks to Melissa, who was incredibly friendly and welcoming. It was such a thoughtful surprise to find fresh eggs, honey, and milk already waiting for us in the fridge, it really made us feel at home straight away.The view is absolutely magnificent, and we especially loved the walking trail just near the house. Waking up in the morning to the peaceful sound of birds was so relaxing, and it was a joy watching the horses grazing right in front of the house.There’s also a fire pit available, which added a cosy touch to the experience. While there’s no internet or WiFi, it actually turned out to be a blessing, we spent quality time playing board games with family instead.Overall, a beautiful and peaceful getaway. We would definitely love to come back again.

"Our stay was nothing short of pastoral perfection.The Hillborne Cottage is a celestial escape where we spent our days watching the horses, listening to the local birds and watching them in the garden, It was such a bonus to bring our dog along; we loved exploring the walking trails for a full day out and ending our evenings by the fire pit.The hospitality from Melissa and Greg was top-tier.They are such kind hosts and provided a wonderful spread of welcome goodies-fresh eggs, honey, milk, and orange juice. Greg even checked in halfway through to ensure we had enough honey and eggs for the rest of our trip! We also loved cooking in the kitchen, which has a truly mesmerising view, though having a BBQ on the patio with that heavenly backdrop was just as special.
