Original 1960's fibro small house, this 1 Bedroom property boasts an expansive view out across the ocean - see Wye Point from the wide 360 degree deck, chase the sun all year round. With gorgeous king parrots, rosellas, finches, wrens, magpies and (at times) kookaburras, sometimes a night owl perches on the wire or a Koala comes for the new gum leaves! This holiday home is a typical and well loved local beach style classic delightfully updated with soft furnishings inside for comfort.

Comprises open plan and light filled, a simple kitchen with gas cooking, microwave oven, double sink, fridge / freezer, lounge with views and access to deck, Foxtel Pay TV (large screen) adjacent to light filled dining area views to forest trees and sea. This property has a split system air-conditioner / heater or x2 small oil heaters. The master bedroom has a beautiful view of the ocean (BIR's) , dooner and pillows (guests bring own linen covers) with a tower fan and electric blanket. A small (basic) clean bathroom with shower over bath and a separate toilet, washing machine (no trough), iron & ironing board.

Please note that sheets / towels are to be SUPPLIED BY GUEST OR PLEASE REQUEST IN ADVANCE LINEN PROVIDED - A SUPPLY CHARGE WOULD APPLY.

The property uses water tank and septic tank facilities. SEPARATION CREEK / WYE RIVER USE WATER WISELY

A beautiful and secluded hamlet, Separation Creek is 7-8k out of Lorne. It has a private, picturesque surf beach (please note is not regularly patrolled), easy walking access to Otway forest (see Koalas), walking tracks throughout and is adjacent to Wye River with various recreational facilities, fantastic patrolled surf beach during summer, the Wye Hotel and Wye General Store. Enjoy day trips along the Great Ocean Road to Kennett River, The Great Otway National Park. Visit Apollo Bay, 12 Apostles, Cape Otway Lightstation and the Shipwreck Discovery tour, visit Warrnambool and more !
NOTE Guests are to provide own bed linen for Queen bed and pillow cases , towels and as at May/June 2021 firewood and kindling should you wish to use the open fireplace.

Amazing host

Leanne was an amazing host. Unfortunately there was a big storm the first night we stayed in the accommodation and the power then went out for at least 12 hours. Leanne was amazing during that time and kept us regularly updated and once the delay extended, she very kindly offered to reimburse us for the majority of our stay so we could relocate somewhere warm. We will definitely be back to enjoy this beautiful place.

Lovely little cottage nicely furnished full set up kitchen and dinning area.

We stayed two nights, first night was a bit cold as it was poor weather outside and the wind seemed to blow straight through the gaps in the sliding doors. Once we got the heaters going and warmed the place up it was a great little spot. Great view of the ocean and a very shirt drive to the beach/pub.0

Delightful

Otway Blue is a delightful find. Lovely beach house that is clean, everything you need & has such a welcoming feel from the moment you arrive. The view is fantastic & it is so relaxing just sitting on the deck watching the ocean and the friendly bird life. We were lucky enough to wake up both mornings & watch a pod of dolphins from the bedroom window, & the bed is very comfortable! Leanne is lovely to deal with & communication is excellent. We can’t wait to book again.

Perfectly placed holiday house. Ocean views from lounge and main bedroom. Quiet, peaceful, relaxing. King parrots eating out of our hand was amazing. Go to sleep and waking up the sound of the ocean… can’t get any better. We would recommend this awesome place to anyone. ✌️

This is set in a wonderful pat of the world, views of the ocean are fabulous, walk to Wye River magical and 20 minutes there and back along a high path. Tame birds very entertaining. Exploring Otway Ranges a must. Self catering easy, kitchen well provided. Comfortable and cosy :)

Beautiful views and cosy home

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely "home-away-from-home". Leanne kindly welcomed our stay at short notice and assisted me with our initial booking, and she then allowed us to extend our stay by an extra night. A perfect host! It was a clean and cosy place to stay, with great views and friendly parrots! We stayed in early winter and enjoyed having an open fire. Thank you so much.

Comfortable Charming Cottage

We found this charming home to contain all we needed to make our time very comfortable. Our daughter loved the second bedroom as it had plenty of games to occupy her and was thrilled to be able to feed the beautiful parrots every day, which was a fantastic bonus! Simply The Best

Having travelled extensively over the years throughout Australia and NZ, staying in motels, cottages, cabins, etc we get an overview of what’s available out there and value for money. As we are wildlife and birdlife lovers, we are always on the search for nice accommodation that is suitable and satisfying for our needs. Otway Blue ticks all the boxes. Not just that, we would honestly have to say it was the best experience so far. The cottage sits on a gentle slope overlooking the Separation Creek beach area (a peaceful and beautiful hamlet) and is easily accessible unlike the many steep properties around the corner at Wye River. There is bush walking at the back door, and an easy return walk to the water’s edge. The best part was the birdlife. We counted 21 cockatoos at one stage sitting on the balcony rail. The green parrots and kookaburras that visited throughout the day were happy to be handfed. Magpies, currawongs and crimson rosellas also dropped in for their share. At night you could hear the koalas grunting and the gorgeous sound of the surf. Amenties we appreciated - Foxtel! (hardly ever seen in accommodation, perfect for watching the cricket, glass of red wine in hand and occasionally taking in the sea view), very efficient air conditioning, kitchen supplies that you quite often forget, i.e. salt/pepper, coffee, sugar, a very comfortable bed for our backs, separate toilet and shower, BBQ, to name a few. The outstanding features of Otway Blue as well as the birdlife are the ocean views and total privacy. The deck wraps around three sides of the house, with an amazing sea view, with no neighbours looking out on you, and the house below is only visible by it’s roof. The living area has a bush view at the back and an ocean view at the front. The bedroom also has a sea view. Quite often the description of holiday homes does not live up to the reality when you arrive, but Otway Blue lives up to all it’s claims and far exceeded our expectations. For Australian or overseas visitors this property is very hard to beat. We hardly ever return to accommodation as we are always exploring new places, but Otway Blue is a treasure we will come back to. It has set the bar very high.

Private, picturesque with an expansive open view, a quieter area with good space between all the homes and surrounded by gum trees, an original style property of the area with many modern or updated properties surrounding. Walking distance to beach, walking trails amongst the surrounding terrine, easy travel to Lorne or Wye River.
