About this property

Callala Point Beach House

Waterfront reserve brick home situated on the point between Beach and Bay. Step out of the living room or family room onto a large shady veranda with views across the bay to the heads. Watch the dolphins, sea eagles, occasional whales. Safe swimming and snorkelling at the rock platform just below. Walk or ride a bike for a few minutes along the new bike and footpath to get to a park with barbecue and the footbridge over Calllala Creek to Callala Beach, a popular spot for kids to swim, or continue for miles along the beach. It's 1km to boat ramp, 1.7km to local shops with post -office, IGA supermarket, takeaway, restaurant etc. , under 9km by car or much less distance by foot or bike to Myola at the other end of Callala Beach to take the weekend and holidays ferry to Huskisson.

The property has everything you need for a great holiday. Built in the 1980's and stilll in original condition it's a quite large three b/r solid home with loads of cupboards. The kitchen is very functional with heaps of accessories. The family room/living room is air conditioned, or light up the wood heater. There are three bedrooms, main air conditioned with twin beds, or push them together to make a king. The second bedroom has a queen sized bed, third with two singles. There's a large garden enclosed with 900mm weldmesh fencing, an attached garage for a small-medium car and plenty of parking space. Sixty-five inch wall mounted TV in the living room, Netflix and broadband provided.

There's a bathroom and two toilets inside, and also an outside shower/toilet, but the outside bathroom is not included in the rental because it's partly exposed to the elements and so impossible to keep clean, dust and leaves blow in, currently you could use it if you want to have a quick shower coming back from the beach, otherwise best don't go there.

Access considerations if you have a disability: there's a ramp into the house, but use of bathroom and toilet may require assistance.

We supply linen and bath towels towels.

There's currently no surcharge for dogs, just don't let them mess inside and pick up any poop.

Definitely no parties.

Lovely getaway
Was a lovely escape after the New Year from Sydney to a little piece of paradise. Great location. Amenity of house was great especially for my disabled father. We were already prepared from previous reviews for the decor and furnishings which we actually thought lent character and history to the place. As long as your expectations are calibrated to this you’re fine. Its not slick or modern and It felt like Oma was still living there. Everything worked and we were very happy. Every option of coffee device was available and fortunately the owners kindly spilled a welcome supply of pods for the dolce gusto nespresso machine which was highly appreciated!! The owners also went out of their way to ensure the property was accessible including the shower which they removed the sliding door for us. Communications were always obliging and prompt. Everything you need is in the house. Lovely gardens. Lawns well maintained. Fantastic views. Easy access to rock pools, beach and coastal walking paths literally metres outside our door. It was lovely to be able to have our family pet dog come for the holidays and the dog friendly beaches were numerous. Had a fantastic stay. Highly recommended. Thanks Deb and Rainer.

I'm Rainer. We bought the block at Callala in 1979, Dad designed and built the house in the 1980's. In 2014 Deb and I moved to a small property at Falls Creek, 25 minutes away, where we have two dogs and each have a horse. We might move back to Callala when we get old.
