About this property
Minutes To The Caves; 5+ Acres, HOT TUB!, Wi-fi, Grill, Fire Pit, Pet Friendly!
UPDATE - the HOT TUB is ON and in-service for the season!
** PLEASE NOTE - I no longer have access to a laundry service that is able to take care of providing clean towels and linens. Please understand that I would like to provide this service, but I am unable to. Thus, youāll need to plan on bringing your own. I do apologize for this.
*** Please read this entire description before booking, and feel free to ask me any questions you might have! ***
I have had some recent complaints regarding a few items so please read the following info prior to booking. Your booking this cabin acknowledges that you have read and understand the information contained in this ad.
This RUSTIC cabin is located in a wooded and grassy area. There are bugs and there are spiders and there are other furry critters in the area. The cabin is typically cleaned on a Monday after folks check out. The cleaning service has an hour round trip travel time, so it is likely it wonāt be āfreshened upā immediately prior to your arrival if you come later in the week. Please expect there to be a sign of activity of these bugs and spiders and other pests in this natural wooded area.
The lawn service might not always be able to mow or trim weeds directly prior to your arrival. Many factors such as rain, wooded property access, and land topology play into this. This is not a metropolitan or town location. If you are expecting that, understand you might be disappointed and wonāt receive a refund.
Sometimes, a window might fail to lock. However, all main entry doors are secure and have locks on them. We have never had a security incident since we began cabin rentals in 2012. I have had many, many very happy customers. Many folks come back to each of my locations each and every season. However, a few have not been happy due to the items listed above. Please be sure you understand the above information before choosing to stay here.
This simple cabin is located on 5 scenic acres to allow hiking, campfires, grilling out, or taking a nice soak in the relaxing hot tub! It is located near South Bloomingville, OH, just minutes from Old Man's Cave, Ash Cave, Conkle's Hollow, and many other local attractions.
Plates, bowls, pots, pans, utensils, coffee maker, toaster, and trash bags are included.
The cabin has air conditioning, an electric furnace heater, ceiling fans, wood burner, leather couch, futon, and a large fire pit! It has beds to sleep 7 (possibly 8 with children - please see below for a description of the bedding arrangement), has satellite TV in the living room (the bedroom has a TV but needs a streaming device [that you provide] plugged into its HDMI port), a stereo system with Bluetooth, full kitchen with range, refrigerator, and microwave. Outside, there is a propane grill on the front porch. There is also ample space for a nice campfire to roast hot dogs and make S'Mores!
Bedding arrangement: There are a total of 4 mattresses on which to sleep: 1 queen size bed in the bedroom (sleeps 2), 2 twin bunkbeds in one corner of the greatroom (sleeps 2), and a pullout queen size couch (sleeps 2) {Entire cabin sleeps 6 adults or 7 total if a child stays}
Please note: I have very good feedback at my cabins, and I pride myself in trying to make sure folks enjoy their time here. I will do my best to make sure your stay is a pleasant one. In order to achieve that, I want to make sure you are aware of a few items:
I have been made aware at times that there are excessive spider webs in the cabin. We have tried everything to minimize this. However, I must say that the drop ceiling within the cabin does not allow for cleaning of these. Itās a textured ceiling and trying to remove the webs only results in ceiling tile surface damage. Thus, I do not mean to be blunt - but if you are offended by cobwebs please donāt book this cabin. We truly do our best to remove them but the spiders in this wooded area work quickly and we just cannot stay ahead of them. Thanks for understanding!
At times the satellite TV signal might be weak, or an item within the cabin might not be functional. Items such as these will be addressed ASAP by the property managers, and I will always do my best to make sure you are notified prior to booking.
The cabin packs MANY items into a small area. The master bath and half bath are compact, but functional!
Don't delay! Get out to the Hocking Hills!
PLEASE NOTE - this property is located in a rural setting with open grassy areas and woods nearby. We do our best to keep pesky rodents away but at times there could be a rodent that was just caught in a trap. We have tried poison, traps, and using nothing at all; we have landed on continuing to use mousetraps. Poison causes them to die in the most inopportune places and having no traps at all just leads to larger issues. If you happen to find a mouse in a trap we apologize - we truly are doing the best to can to make the pests disappear. Just please be prepared to place all food in sealable containers or in the refrigerator so you donāt attract them even more!
In addition to small furry pests, an occasional wood roach might be wandering around a cabin. I assure you these are NOT a cock roach. Please google āwood roachā. They feed on moist damp wood. They donāt really want to be inside but they might have been carried in on firewood or wandered in looking for a mate. They donāt eat human food and they donāt want to be inside. If you find one, please either dispose of it or simply throw it outside. Thanks for your patience as you venture in to the rural wooded areas of Hocking Hills!

Super cute property! Not too hard to find quiet and private will keep in favorites for other visits to hocking hills! Hot tub had a slight issue but was still functioning enough to use one side! Host has said a new one is on the way so hopefully that wont be an issue for future guests! Perfect spot not too horribly far from the caves!
Great location, semi secluded with great view of the open sky, but close enough to deep woods to hear nature. Everything about the property was as described in the listing and that communication prior to our visit was extremely helpful. The hot tub was also very relaxing. The property was clean, allowed dogs which was a huge plus, and wasn't too far from Hocking Hills attractions. Really, all good things.

Itās a nice place and affordable if you need somewhere to stay, but not what we were expecting. Thought it would be more secluded. Had a shared driveway with neighbors close by. I get itās a dog friendly house, but when I have to sweep up because I was stepping on so much hair and dirt, that tells me the cleaning person didnāt clean well. Other than that, it was ok to stay.
This is a lovely pet-friendly, cozy, comfortable and clean cabin with nice amenities. It is a quiet area with nice privacy, and it was quite enjoyable to stay here. Our host was very considerate and helpful.
Cozy little cabin. My husband and I enjoyed our stay for Valentineās Day weekend. Bed was comfortable and had everything we needed to cook a delicious meal. Loved the wood burner, definitely gave a genuine cozy cabin feel. Would definitely book again! Thank you!

We truly tried to make this customer happy. The hot tub was working with no issues the first evening of their arrival, but they didnāt happen to use it.
The second evening - the circulation pump had failed which made the tub trip the breaker.
We had the spare part onsite but we could not get a repair company there on a Sunday.
I thought allowing them to leave with a late checkout on Sunday and giving them a $50 refund immediately for the hot tub issues would help. I tried my best.
Only complaint, which isnt even a complaint given the time of year, is that the hot tub was already shut down for season, the cabin was nice, peaceful and quiet, defined recommend.

Thanks for your great comments and review! I listed in the ad that the hot tub is drained in the winter - sorry if you missed that.
We hope to have you back soon!
They were very helpful and great communication. Very clean set up well. Note: this completely on me, but I didnāt see in the description that the hot tub is drained for winter, THIS IS ON ME and I still had a very enjoyable time.
The cabin was perfect as was our stay and the host great with communication and very fast. Of note, the hot tub is drained, so not useable. This would have been nice to know beforehand as I would have looked for a cabin with a working hot tub. I would definitely rent again!

Thanks for the great review!
We updated the ad to state that itās drained for the winter season.
Thanks again!
The Hot tub was great and the kitchen had everything thing we needed. The cabin was clean and and in a great location. Hopefully we will get to stay again sometime. The beds were even comfortable.
Everything was absolutely wonderful with the cabin!! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!! We will definitely stay at Valley Ridge again if we ever get back down to Hocking Hills.
Everything was clean and in good working order. The owned communicated great as far as getting to the property and getting into the cabin. Its pretty secluded and we heard nothing but the hot tub and nature. Would highly recommend for a couple or maybe dmall family.
We really enjoyed our stay. It was the perfect place to disconnect. Loved all the acres of land, the view of the woods in the back, and we had everything we needed. Not very far from Hocking Hills, 2 bathrooms is a perk, and it was so quiet and peaceful.
The cabin was clean, the hot tub was excellent, and our dogs had a great stay! I would recommend purchasing more staple kitchen items. Particularly salt/pepper, sheet pans, measuring cups, wooden spoons, etc. Having a more complete kitchen would relieve stress on prepping meals.
