Possumbrook Cottage offers comfortable accomodation in a peaceful environment . a real chill out Cottage where you can stroll by the babbling brook or drink your free bottle of Tasmanian Pinot Noir if you stay for 2 nights or more on the decks listening to the bird calls and the sound of the brook just meters away . You can bring your walking shoes and go for a good hard walk or just take a stroll and spot the local wallaby , who will hop down the drive each night. If you sit on the deck you can spot several varieties ,plus possums ,which you can hand feed each night and we have even spotted a platypus many times and water rats * Racalli). Also in the brook at night . Black Cockatoos fly in regularly and the bird life is wonderful. Possumbrook Cottage is a perfect Time Out Weekend away for any working couple ,family ,or friends,who wish to escape their busy lives. All this just 5 to 10 minutes drive to 16 different eateries including the Kermandie Hotel with terrific meals just 5 minutes away. You breakfast provisions will be waiting for you in the very user friendly kitchen with eggs complimentary from the Girls ( our resident Chooks ) who you are most welcome to get acquainted with. Castle Forbes Bay is a very central place to many tourist attractions in the Huon Valley including the Tahune Air walk ,The Huon Jet and Paddle boats. And Geeveston just 6 minutes further down the road offers great Sushi, a top Bakery and many more restaurants also there are galleries, the Wall of Lollies shop,The Platypus Walk ,Information Centre and much more.Franklin just 5 minutes north has the Wooden Boat Centre , Maritime Museum ,The Woof Gallery, 2 Hotels and several good restaurants.The Huon Valley is one of the prettiest areas in Tasmania and boasts several Wineries and Willie Smiths Cider and Franks Cider are just a couple more good reasons to spend time exploring this wonderful part of Tasmania.It is just 15 minutes to Huonville 30 minutes to Kingston and 45 minutes to Hobart. You might like to check out the current masterpiece in the working Studio This cottage is very comfortable for a couple or family, boasting a lazy boy lounge suite to relax on and a TV withDVD a Portacot is available .the cottage has 3 bedrooms .King , Queen and single , all superbly comfortable . all linen is supplied. you can now enjoy a sauna in the farinfrared 2 person sauna which is great for aches and pains and picks up your immune system A great Cottage to unwind relax or go in search of adventure at the Air walk or take. Walk in the Hartz Mountains check out the Hastings Caves and warm naturally heated pool . visit some wineries or breweries Check out Huonville with Willie Smith Cider House and Jet Boatts or Cygnet or Franklin or Geeveston all with great places to see and visit and enjoy the many restaurants and hotels in the area. Very cosy with electric and wood fire heating The beds are soo comfy. Families love this Cottage and dog friendly too.

Possum Brook Cottage

Set in an idealistic quiet area, so peaceful, an ideal base for day tours. Very comfortable with all needs covered, cant praise this place enough, will definitely be going back again.

A wonderful experience in a wonderful place! We’ve been here a month while moving and loved it! The brook, the cottage, Dee’s friendly hosting and the garden are all just what we needed. Truly beautiful and calming surrounds and a lovely seat by the fire.The cottage has full facilities with an excellent kitchen and everything to let us get on with daily life while staying. Check-in was smooth and welcoming with nothing too much trouble. Highly recommended!PS - the most dog friendly place ever, even for our large and rambunctious girl.

A country haven in the Huon Valley

Possumbrook Cottage is a wonderful to stay at - a very generous host, stocked with delightful fresh goodies for breakfast, lovely peaceful location and excellent for kids - our youngest loved exploring the garden, brook and seeing some native wildlife. Absolutely best place we could have booked for a family holiday! Dee was absolutely lovely and her idealic property, with wildlife and farm animals was just magical. The house was cozy and clean. Check in we were told what we can and cant do which I understand but this I'd never experienced, told the wood for the fire is expensive try not to have a fire. The house is straight out of the 70s, dark interiors made the place feel depressing. Nik naks everywhere, bathroom sink and unit smelt damp, We couldnt wait to leave.The only positive was that dogs were allowed.

Tranquil Setting

This cottage was in a beautiful place, very peaceful and perfect for getting away from the business of suburban life. The host was very friendly and helpful and supplied an abundance of refreshments. It was close to the attractions of the south of Tasmania and the cottage had all the facilities to allow for a comfortable stay.
