Edenview is our home. We love animals, so we understand that you may wish to bring your fur babies with you on your holiday. There is a totally fenced half acre dog proof yard to keep your fur babies safe and happy. We ask that your fur babies are kept outside where they can be undercover and safe and not allowed indoors at all.
We have a horse called Leo, 2 miniature ponies, one called Sonny, the other Franklin, a sheep called Coco we a resident chicken family on site where you can collect fresh eggs daily straight from the nest boxes - except when they have a break and stop laying. (We try and leave fresh laid eggs in the fridge for your use if we can as well).
There is also a cheeky cockatoo called Maxi who loves to say Hi when you arrive and ‘Bye’ when you leave.
Inside the house, we have a large fish with multiple goldfish live.
We take our dogs with us when guests have booked the property, and our 2 cats are kept locked up safely in the large shed on the property with plenty of food and water.

About the host

Host profile image
I’m a gal who loves being amongst nature, having animals around me and marvelling over beautiful sunsets. I love God and attend church regularly. I try and treat others as I would like to be treated and love hearing other people’s stories. I am a mum of 5 grown children - 4 girls and a boy, and a Nanna to 7 (almost 8) wonderful grandkids. I am also a creative; I love making earrings and 3D prints and selling them at markets (check out my Light and Clay Insta pages and website!), drawing and when I have time, painting. Hosting can be wonderful and I love making the house welcoming and a ‘home-away-from-home’ for my guests.

Why they chose this property

Craig and I moved from Sydney (Cattai) and built Edenview back in 2006. We have 5 beautiful children, and wanted to be closer to my aging mother (now deceased) who lived not far away. We purchased the 5 acre property with nothing on it, not even a tree, just a cow paddock. We built the house so that each child would have their own room, plus an extra room for guests. The eldest had already fled the nest when we built but we wanted to ensure she had somewhere to come home to if required. We love living here, and when the last of our children left home just recently, we were faced with the decision of downsizing or letting others enjoy what we have, whilst allowing us to get out and about more. It has proved to be more successful than we ever imagined, and are overwhelmed by guests reviews of our property.
Edenview is not an ostentatious property. It is just the perfect, down to earth 'home away from home' that we feel guests can come to, to relax, unwind and just de-stress. If you do decide to book, we truly hope you enjoy your stay at our beautiful piece of the Hunter Valley.

What makes this property unique

We fell in love with the view that surrounds our property. To us, it's God's country. Each morning when I wake up, I sit on the sofa lounge with my cup of tea and just admire the mountain surrounds and the rolling hills. The view seems to change every day. Sometimes, mist forms like clouds that tumble over the mountain tops like breaking waves. Other days it drifts lazily through the valley. The enjoyment of seeing the occasional mob of kangaroos as they meander on their nomadic journey, and the varied native bird life is such a pleasure for animals lovers such as us. Edenview has been put together with love, family memories and peaceful moments. We hope that our guests get to feel a part of Edenview and come away with a little bit of its treasure captured in their hearts.
