We had an absolutely wonderful weekend staying at this property. The house itself is stunning—beautifully presented, spacious, and incredibly comfortable. Everything felt well thought out and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The gardens were just as impressive—lush, peaceful, and perfectly maintained. It was the ideal setting to relax and unwind, and we really enjoyed spending time outdoors taking it all in.Overall, a fantastic stay and we wouldn’t hesitate to come back again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in a beautiful setting.
We had a great stay in this beautiful house with friends. It has everything you could need and the grounds are amazing too. I would highly recommend this for a group stay.
Our family of 6 had a lovely stay. The huge home & garden allowed us to relax and recharge. Views were stunning & walks through the garden a particular joy.
Stanhope is a marvellous grand house. Full of character and charm. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the house and grounds, especially the treetops walkway. We wish we had had more time to spend here.
Character home with lots of space for our family and friends. Great for our bride to get ready with lots of places for stunning photos. Everyone had a special place they loved and it was a quintessential Bowral experience.

Thank you for being amazing guests - glad you made some beautiful memories
This home has a wow factor. Grand and very comfortable home with unique spaces and gorgeous gardens and outlooks! Wonderful place for a multigenerational family celebration.
We spent our second week as newly weds at Stanhope with our immediate families - we couldn't have asked for more. Stanhope offered our dream kitchen and dining space and did it all in Federation style. Thankyou for sharing this stunning property xo
Words don’t do Stanhope House justice! The most magnificent property - inside and out. We enjoyed a weekend with 3 other couples, eating, drinking and relaxing. Plenty to occupy us from exploring the amazing grounds, walks, tennis courts and stunning views to playing pool, watching movies, reading and relaxing by the fire… we took time out from the world!!!
Would definitely recommend this paradise escape only minutes from beautiful Bowral!!!
We stayed here for the weekend of our daughter’s wedding.
The photos don’t do justice to the size of the rooms.
The wedding photography opportunities gave us amazing photos.
The conservatory was pure luxury for hair and makeup artists.
Our family guests loved the gardens.
I can’t recommend the property highly enough, and Jane was very helpful.

This house was just breathtaking!!
I cannot begin to explain the beauty of this house. We spent so long just looking at every single detail of this house it was just unbelievable. photos just can not do it justice. The property was very clean, the grounds were well maintained and I wish I could live there forever!!
Jane the host was always contactable and was so attentive to my questions and requests.
We can not wait to come back and stay there again
The photos didn't disappoint, if anything Stanhope was even more impressive than we had expected! My family wanted somewhere special to stay on the occasion of our son's wedding, and special it is. The grounds are just stunning and so well maintained, the house decorated with many knick knacks and curios from times gone by. For the first three days we kept finding things we hadn't seen previously! This house is so spacious and incredibly well kept. The mattresses and pillows are so comfortable! There are four poster beds in two of the bedrooms. While they suit the style of the house, we found the wooden bases a bit hard when getting in and out of the beds. Twice we needed to ask or check something, and our messages were answered promptly - most helpful. Therefore if you are looking for somewhere different and special, with prompt assistance if required, Stanhope is for you. We will absolutely be back!
This is a stunning property, much better than the photos portray. It is huge and is ideal for groups. We had a couple of issues; firstly it was very cold when we arrived, we stayed there a prior year in May, and the underfloor heating was on which made a big difference. This time it was not on.A couple of the rooms, the pool room and sitting room did not heat up at all. The maintenaince guy checked and said they were working, but they did not heat up at all during our stay, quite uncomfortable. In bed at night we were all hot, after looking at the manual and confirming with property manager, we worked out the heating could be turned off for the bedrooms in the master bedroom, we did this from the second night and everyone was more comfortable. The four poster bed in the master bedroom has side railings and the matress is actually lower than the railings which makes it extremely difficult to get out of bed, as I get up frequently in the night it was pretty bad for me. All it needs is some foam underneath the matress to raise it up to be at least as high as the side rails. We did mention this on our last visit and nothing changed which is a shame. Also there are 2 shower baths in the bathrooms, these have no grab/safety rails to hang onto which for ease of use and safety is essential.Other than those things which could be fixed easily, this truly is a magnificent property, close to Bowral with good shops and an excellent hanging out with firends place to stay.
This is a beautiful property; the house was exceptional. We loved the heated floors in the bathrooms, well-appointed kitchen, the Aga stove was fantastic to cook on. The separate living areas were excellent too.
The property was extremely clean except for a couple of very minor things that were pointed out to the manager who said they would be addressed. It is one of the cleanest properties we have stayed which was also very well received.
The bedrooms and bathrooms were well appointed, the master bedroom and the other larger bedroom were stunning. The mattress in the master bedroom was very comfortable, except it was a 4-poster bed, when getting in and out of bed the hard wooden sides were very hard to get in and out of. For a frequent toilet user in the night, it is not comfortable at all to get in and out of bed. I am not sure how anyone wouldn't notice this. There needs to be something underneath the mattress to raise it, so this isn’t an issue.
There are a lot of separate sitting areas throughout the house which would be great for people in large groups wanting to have a little time out.
Fireplace in the living area was good, except we found it was smoking into the room (maybe chimney needs cleaning) and there was hardly any wood, this too has been mentioned separately to the manager.
The outdoor area is fantastic, a beautiful private area to go for walks in, the driveway too is lovely.
So, this property was really exceptional, a beautiful place to stay, in fact,
Wonderful property with amazing views and grounds.
Everything is provided for and clearly communicated.
Only one thing I struggled with was the squeaky bed in the first room which made for 2 sleepless nights. Other than that it was perfect!
