Great property, really beautiful outlook and perfect for a weekend away with a few girlfriends. Would definitely consider taking the family there too. Close to town and close to vineyards.
Beautiful property, comfortable beds, fun fire pit! We really enjoyed our stay. Very peaceful except for a short period of time when there were a lot of folk at the cellar door.

Thank you for your review we understand that during the day it can get a little rowdy but they are sure to close up by 5pm at the latest. It is however very convenient to arrive to your own bar on a friday afternoon 😜
A short drive from the town of Mudgee - this farm stay was a great option for our small group of friends up from Sydney for a weekend of golf and going to the footy.
The cottage was clean and lovely, surprisingly warm given the winter time visit. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and the cottage is only a few minutes drive from both the town and local wineries. I would recommend!
The cottage is very comfortable with all the amenities you'd expect. It's a peaceful location surrounded by farmland but close to town and vineyards. We appreciated the hosts' thoughtful touches like a big basket of blankets for winter nights and a dozen eggs in the fridge.
The property was perfect for our group, the children had a lot of space to roam around and the area is well appointed for wineries. The beds were all very cosy and comfortable and we really enjoyed the out door fire pit and the peace and serenity of the views in the morning. Overall a very special place and we will definitely be back again!

Excellent accomodation
The property was well maintained, clean and comfortable. It has everything we needed and more. The outlook from all sides of the cottage was lovely. An easy drive into town and to nearby wineries. Highlight was sitting out the back on the grass with a nice glass of wine!!

Lovely comments and great guests thank you 😊 please come visit again there’s always plenty to do and see!
We really enjoyed our stay. The property is lovely, and the house has a very comfortable, welcoming feel to it with a quirky, eclectic vibe. The house was clean and comfortable, but the kitchen and bathroom were a bit shabby. The beds were very comfortable.
The owners were very welcoming, and it was fun to meet the animals. Overall, a very relaxing and enjoyable break.
What a gorgeous corner of the world! We felt instantly at home and comfortable here - what a beautiful home and the surrounds were breath taking. Thank you!
We were group of 8 adults with few little children and spent 2 nights at this beautiful peaceful retreat. We all totally loved the cottage and its location, not to mention the amazing scenery.
The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable. It is conveniently located close to the town, wineries and other attractions Mudgee has to offer. Our children loved the surrounding, especially the horses :)
We would absolutely come back and recommend this place!

Thank you Petra, we would welcome you back anytime and thank you for your lovely review. :-)
The place was as described and the surroundings just beautiful. Cate was the loveliest host and really helped me out with a personal issue and was so kind. The kids loved feeding the horses and having fires outside. Highly recommend.
Close enough to the action but just far enough to feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere.
Our party of 4 adults and 4 kids had a ball, great facilities and outdoor space, fireplace and fire pit was a hit.
Was able to easily explore the range of restaurants, wineries and artisan produce of the area. Had a fabulous long weekend.
Thanks to hosts Cate and Ian who made sure we had everything we needed.

Thank you for your fabulous review and please come visit us again 👍
Our family really enjoyed our holiday over Christmas at the farm. We had a baby and a toddler with us and found the closeness to Mudgee very convenient. The local swimming pool was a big hit. The farm was comfortable and the horses and chickens a bonus entertainment. Early mornings and evenings were beautiful to enjoy the rural surrounds outside.
There were six of us and we loved staying at Lawson Farm Cottage. The property is spectacular, the beds were comfy, the water pressure was great and we had everything we needed. We found the chickens entertaining, as was Dave the beer brewer who runs a small brewery from Lawson Farm. We would definitely stay here again.
The cottage is within minutes (driving) of Mudgee township, fromagerie, wineries, breweries and coffee places. We had a great time, thank you Cate! She is so lovely to deal with, we had a couple of changes along the way and she was great.
Fabulous comfy beds - though wrought iron bed may need some oil as very squeaky even to sit on - beautiful warm cottage with country vibe. Chickens, cows, horses etc. close to central Mudgee. Elephant Mountain Wine tasting onsite. Indoor fire, so cosy and outdoor fire pit - the skys were amazing. Any questions or issues our host was there for us to rectify and we had a fabulous long weekend. A great place to stay would stay there again.
Very excited about our stay, great communication with host. Self Check In was easy. Cottage was wonderful and has everything we needed in tge kitchen, games, big dining table and couch space, lots of wood for the indoor fire which kept the whole house toastie. Heaters in every bedroom. Beds were very comfortable with lots of extra blankets if needed (we stayed in winter). We patted the horses in the next paddock, we were lucky enough to be allowed to visit the hens and collect their eggs. Magical views over the paddocks to the mountains. Such a wonderful place that fits 2 familys of 4 comfortably. We will be back.

About the host

We love where we live and chose this property for it's lifestyle. Our kids have flown the coop and we love to meet new people and share our piece of paradise with others. We enjoy growing our own produce and love to see others enjoy our produce
Why they chose this property
This property has been in our family for 40 years and previously housed the vineyards and tasting room for Frog Rock Wines, now sold to another Riverina winery. So many childhood memories here and established gardens that we still enjoy today.
What makes this property unique
We are 5 minutes from Mudgee town and close to other wineries and cellar doors. The views from this property truly capture the gentle welcoming hills of Mudgee and make you feel like you are away from the hustle and bustle.
