There was a blackout in the neighborhood which stopped the pool heater from working and the cable box for the main floor TV. It took a few tries over 3 days to get everything back to working order. Definitely not in my control but we did everything we could to get things working again.
The home was lovely and clean. We were very comfortable with our children and grandchildren all together. It was a great family gathering to celebrate a special occasion.
The property was beautiful, the neighborhood was clean and quiet. Dealing with the owners was a pleasure. We are already looking forward to go back. This is the perfect get away!
Family of ten made up of 6 adults and 4 children (7 to 11)Visit from Colorado to see 94 year old mother who was also the grandmother and great grandmother. Rental was 10 minutes from mother. She came to rental every afternoon. Only issues was light out in master bedroom shower and one burner on range did not work. We would stay there again

I wish I would have known about the light and burner. I would have sent over my handyman. Will take care of it now.
We had 2 families with 7 people total. Having 2 beds in each room was helpful so the kids didn't have to share beds. House was clean. Neighborhood was quiet. We had no complaints and would stay there again.
Very comfortable for our party of 6 adults. Large living room and dining room+kitchen to accommodate all of us easily. Patio, pool, and yard were delightful. WiFi, TV/DVD, lighting, beds and 3 well appointed bathrooms. Convenient closets with lots of hangers, dressers, luggage rack, everything well thought out. Close to stores, restaurants and a nice neighborhood for walking. Now that we are home we miss the comfort of sitting and relaxing together there!
Overall we had a nice week at the house. It is spacious and the beds were comfortable. The neighborhood was very nice and convenient to our needs. The pool was great and my grandkids enjoyed it very much. There were some cleanliness and maintenance issues that we brought to the attention of the owner who was very receptive. She indicated that she would take care of them. I trust they will be rectified for future visitors. I would add that the house could use some sprucing up to make it feel fresher too.

Hi. I appreciate your comments and criticism. The house was rented for almost four months by one family who did not treat the house very well. We were able to get a few repairs done this week. Two years ago, we bought new couches for the living room. We are in the midst of getting quotes to update the kitchen cabinets, two upstairs bathrooms and the shades. Then we can make a decision about what work needs to be done. On the flip side though, we'd have to raise our nightly rental fees significantly though. Hopefully, we will know this month where we are heading.
The house was a mixed bag. It was comfortable and roomy. But somethings didn’t work like a kitchen burner and the garbage disposal. The pool filter was not working well apparently as the pool turned a greenish color. On the other hand the manager was attentive and the water in the shower was nice and hot.

Hi. Was this the kitchen burner that was not placed in properly? All it needed was to take it out again and put it back in correctly.
There is no garbage disposal anymore since guests have abused it by placing forks and hard vegetables in the drain thereby breaking the system. We've replaced it several times and this past winter we decided to remove the garbage disposal completely.
The pool filter is replaced once a year. There are several factors that can affect a pool filter. Too much rain, or added water due to evaporation, the sun, how many people swim in the pool, and globs of sun tan lotion which clog the filter.
The pool water is cleaned once a week professionally and the chemicals are checked once a week. But with the factors I just mentioned, the pool water can change color in a matter of a couple of hours. We do our best to maintain the pool but we cannot control the other factors that affect the water. If we get a report of malfunction, we send our pool maintenance company out right away to take care of the issues.

My husband and 3 sons sta...
My husband and 3 sons stayed in this house while we were expecting our 4th son. We stayed in this house for almot 3 months. It is a beautiful, spacious and comfortable home. The property the house is located on is extremely private which is hard to find in Florida. It is a very nice quiet neighborhood. The owners are wonderful people and great to deal with. This houe is very child friendly. They have 2 pack n plays which was very convenient. Having the pool was an absolute pleasure especially with the kids. There is a gate around the pool so the kids CANNOT get in it without adult supervision. The way the patio and pool area are situated in this house make it very condusive to just wanting to sit out there all the time and just enjoy pool and the weather. There are really not enough good things I could say about this house. I would recommend staying here to anyone I know and if we ever have to come back to Florida for any reaon this is where we will be staying, if it's available.
Our stay was perfect and the location was a short drive from family. The home is VERY clean, spacious and well appointed and you can tell that they take pride in keeping the property nicely maintained (which we appreciated!). My family of 5 (3 daughters 8-12yo), my SIL and niece all stayed at the property and the double queens in the primary bedroom were perfect for a family group! While I can absolutely understand a homeowners' concerns over renting their home, I did find the additional hoops that were required by the homeowner after booking to be exceptional compared to each prior booking with VRBO, and I wish it had been disclosed in the listing prior to booking. After booking, we received a 10 page contract to complete / sign. There were several sections that weren't relevant to our booking, and while the owner said that they wouldn't collect the additional fees listed in the contract, it felt like unnecessary additional work and steps to review. I felt that the VRBO contract should be sufficient, but as we booked outside of the cancellation window, we obliged. For check-in, the owner told me that I had to call the manager on a specific day within a specified timeframe (without regard for our availability). The instructions for check-in easily could have been transmitted via text or email. Again, I appreciate that the owner is coming from a position of care and concern for their property, but be prepared for additional time and hoops to jump through after booking!

FYI. I had a much shorter version of the contract years ago. But after several guests did not abide by very simple rules, I had to cover all the bases. I will try to scale the paperwork down a bit though.

Take Away the Beginning and End and... It's Great.
The house is nice, big, clean, etc.. There were some minor things like when we arrived the pool wasn't heated yet (we needed to turn it on), there's two barking dogs next door, there's a charter school directly behind the backyard fence that makes school announcements over a megaphone throughout the day (e.g. "Class #1 starts in 5 minutes", "Class #2...", etc.) but... These things are hardly worth mentioning. The real issue for us was that the owner scheduled a landscaping crew to do some major work 10-20 feet from the pool during our first day in the house. Three men with chainsaws cutting down trees, branches, vines, hauling away refuse, etc. This was for the entire first day from 9 AM through 3 PM. No privacy and... The noise was ridiculous. Literally, three chain saws for hours. The owner said this was happening because of "an emergency". (I asked what the emergency was but I never got an answer.) I alerted her to the fact that we were paying guests and her response was "the contract says we are not responsible for noisy neighbors, construction, bad weather, pool or entertainment equipment that breaks." Not being responsible for construction that she scheduled during our stay? While the contract may say this, this does not make sense. This was wrong. She also said, "all homes have gardeners and pool guys that come once per week". I've stayed in many homes with gardeners and pool guys. This was *dramatically* different. The lack of privacy was bad and the noise was ridiculous. At 3 PM, the men left, the pool was warm, and me and the kids were able to swim... which was good. Then, the next morning... The men were back with their chainsaws. No privacy, ridiculous noise, etc. I alerted the owner and... I do not understand why she felt this kind of work while we were renting the house was OK. She kept referring to the neighbor doing work on her driveway but this was nothing compared to the men with chainsaws. I was perplexed. It was so loud, we needed to go inside..and it was still loud. The men left at noon and... just a terrible way to start our trip. The rest of the week was great. Until, on the last day, I was relaxing by the pool before the kids woke up and... from 9 AM until 11 AM (when we left) the men with the chainsaws were back. Pretty frustrating. To pay what we paid and to have to deal with this was... frustrating. A bad start, a bad end but, otherwise, the vacation would've been great.

I did not find out who turned down the pool heat but I did explain to the renter how to raise the temperature. He didn't seem to know how to use the arrow up button. I called my pool guy immediately to reset the system. I was at the house before this group came and yes, there was a gardening emergency (I explained the emergency to this guest). I would never schedule such work while renters are suppose to be at the house but when we arrived a couple of weeks before, the landscaping was so bad and full of pesky insects and other issues. The beautiful large bushes that we had for privacy, were private no longer. The sprinkler system, we found out while we were there, was completely broken and that is why we were paying so much money in water bills. We were told that the job, especially most of the noisy work, would be finished during our stay but everything took longer than it was suppose to. I extended my stay for an extra few days in order to supervise the gardening work. The noise at the end was due to a neighbor digging up her driveway, which is not under our control. If the renter would have seen what happened to our beautiful privacy bushes, he would have told me that he is lacking the privacy that he thought he was getting. The renter would have told me that the yard was full of pesky insects as well. If the renter would have been at a beautiful hotel, he would have had the gardener and other maintenance people as well, doing what they are suppose to be doing - maintaining the property. The school behind our property is usually not a problem at all. I did suggest to the renter to ask the gardener to take a few days off and come back the day of departure. The renter did that. We have rented this lovely home out for about 12 years with hundreds of happy guests. That's with maintenance people coming in and out. Neighbors having dogs and other pets are definitely not in my control. Nor can I control their barking. I don't want to offend pet lovers, but I am not a pet person nor a smoking person and our home is pet free and smoke free. Some guests are more positive and some are more negative. But as an owner, I go above and beyond to help make a guest's stay enjoyable to the extent that I didn't have a vacation at all during my stay.
We've been to Florida on many occasions, and it is very rare to find a house without bugs. Aside from one that flew in there wasn't one bug to be found. The house was fairly immaculate.
We did have one issue w/something (pollen?) over the surface of the pool upon our arrival, but the manager promptly came and took care of the problem so by the next day it was clean.
We were overall very pleased with our stay and would consider coming back.
We rarely left the house. It was clean and well organized, very comfortable!
Little labels for everything made it feel easy to maneuver around a home away from home.
Had one issue with a leak, notified the property manager who was very prompt and assisted us in fixing the problem immediately!
Fay was very communicative and her response time was quick.
We thoroughly enjoyed our family reunion at the house! Thank you for a wonderful stay!
The location of this home is perfect, the outdoor space is spectacular with the screen enclosed heated pool and garden. The inside is perfect for a family reunion and has all the amenities you will need for your stay. The host and property manager were incredibly responsive when we had questions. A wonderful choice and will be back! Highly recommend
