Hanna Cottage at Cavanough House Private secluded valley native birdsong romance
Hanna Cottage at Cavanough House
On the western edge of the NSW central coast, is the lush Ourimbah Valley. Within this enclave of peace and serenity is Cavanough House, a 32 acre rural property. The valley is home to many species of native fauna including wallabies, goannas, king parrots, lyrebirds and kookaburras.
Cavanough House is named after one of the property owner’s forebears Owen Cavanough who was an Able Seaman with the Royal Navy aboard the HMS Sirius which sailed into Botany Bay as part of the First Fleet on January 26, 1788.
Hanna Cottage offers fully self-contained boutique lodging for two in a private, tranquil setting in bushland adjacent to a rainforest sanctuary. Part of the hinterland region of the central coast, this is a nature-lover's paradise where wilderness and luxury combine to create a unique sensory experience.
Hanna Cottage is imbued with the spirit of a bygone era where charm and romance intensified feelings of love and togetherness. Olde worlde enchantment meets comfort and indulgence.
Chilled bottle of wine upon arrival and a relaxing sherry after dinner are all part of the experience. Hanna Cottage comprises a large living and dining area that is temperature controlled with ducted air-conditioning. Guests are pampered with luxurious bed linen, towels and bathroom toiletries.
The cottage has one large master bedroom with a romantic four poster bed.
The bathroom features a claw-foot bath ideal for soaking the stresses of the day away and into a blissful night. Your well equipped kitchen and pantry is stocked with an impressive display of herbs and condiments for that creative culinary moment.
A selection of books, DVD’s and CD’s as well as Foxtel and a large wide screen TV is provided to enhance your stay.
Hanna Cottage also provides muesli, bacon, eggs, fresh local breads, juices and fresh locally grown fruit, for one leisurely self-cooked breakfast as part of your stay. Either eat in or enjoy breakfast alfresco in your own secluded, private courtyard framed by a uniquely Australian cottage garden.
Just a short stroll to the gold green banks of the meandering Bumbles Creek that winds through the property you will find a picnic setting in a private oasis under large shady gums and Australian red cedar which stand tall and proud having survived the early logging in the region.
Relax and enjoy your surroundings then retreat to the pool for an invigorating swim before deciding on what to do next.
The region has a variety of options and so much to enjoy. The hosts whom live on the property provide the below first-hand knowledge and summary of local attractions that may be of interest during your stay.
