This 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom condo sleeps 4 with a king bed and a queen sleeper sofa. It features a private balcony with mountain views. Ideally located in River Run Village so you’re just steps away from shopping, restaurants and local festivities. Plus, you're a very short walk from the high-speed gondola. Buffalo Lodge offers shared amenities including 2 hot tubs.

The entryway has mounted hooks and a bench for your convenience while coming and going throughout the day. The living area features a flat screen TV next to a beautiful gas fireplace. The new queen-sized sleeper sofa offers additional sleeping accommodations. There are extra sheets and blankets in a closet. Just off the living area is access to the private balcony that offers mountain views.

The full-sized kitchen is stocked with all the essential cookware and tableware to make a meal away from home. The dining area features a wood table with traditional chairs and comfortably seats four. The full bathroom has double sinks and a shower/tub combination. It is stocked with towels and an initial supply of toiletries.

The bedroom features a king-sized bed and a flat screen TV. Windows line the north wall and offer mountain views.

Please note: To reserve this property, the reservation holder must be at least 24 years old at the time of booking.

Walk to the gondola

Overall, a good stay. The place was very roomy, but I felt like there were some small issues that could be addressed:-There were no curtains in the bedroom (only blinds) and this was somewhat annoying because the parking lot is lit all night.-Kitchen items are limited. Among the items, some of the sparsest ones were the 5 spoons and 4 bowls. Also the pans were pretty beat up. -The appliances were dated.

The elevators don’t work which is a huge issue. The bldg isn’t taken care of. The management company says it’s the fault of the owners association, which frankly doesn’t mean much. Read about the years of complaints and you’ll see it’s a co aren’t issue, which means the fire department hasn’t truly co plied with elevator inspections. I’d shut the bldg down and disallow occupancy till they fix all the elevators. There are plenty of other problems with this bldg, but this was the most obvious required fix among any of them. I wouldn’t stay here again or in keystone either.

We enjoyed our stay for the price we paid but we would not come back.-We did not find a single employee at the resort that spoke English.-The employee break room is in the garage and was just below our room. This was an issue because they gathered in the break room and smoked pot which stunk up the garage and wafted up to our balcony. Pot may be legal in CO but not professional for a resort to allow it's employees to smoke around guests and to work around small children high.Also, because the room doesn't have AC, you have to have your windows/door open for air flow. This wasn't a problem at night as the evenings are cool and was very comfortable but with the smell of pot coming into our room it was very frustrating.Although we would not go back for the reasons listed, we would recommend to others due to the low price and others may not care about the issues we had.

The property was clean and pretty safe. There were several nice shops right on property but their hours were inconsistent and several were not yet open or don't open in the summer. There was a lot of construction at and around the resort which made it challenging to get around. The area has become very touristy from what it used to be which took away from the experience for us and the locals in general seemed unhappy and unfriendly. The resort didnt seem to hire any English speaking employees and must not care that the employees are smoking pot and working high around the guests. This was a huge problem for us because the employee break room was just below our room and because there is no AC in the rooms, you need to have the windows open. I also dont appreciate my children being around high or drunk people outsideof my control. I personally find it unprofessional, others may not however. Overall, we would not go back to the resort or the area but outside of these issues, we enjoyed our vacation and found some amazingly beautiful places to hike and scenic drive.

If it isn't available, we'd book a different unit with Summit County Mountain Retreats, they made the trip easy.The unit was in a great location, on the 4th floor close to the elevator but tucked in a corner, so hallway traffic was never right at the door. It is quite spacious for a one bedroom and perfect for a couple. The appliances are older but in perfect condition. The king bed had a foam topper that made it quite comfortable.It is a straight, level walk from Buffalo Lodge to the River Run gondola. The ski school and gear rental is the first thing you pass.Because the unit faces a large parking lot, there is some vehicle noise, particularly pre-dawn when they plow the lot. We used the background-noise function of a cell phone to mask the vehicle sounds.The living room furniture was comfortable. Because there were just two of us we didn't use the sofa bed. (The bedding is inside the coffee table.)The fireplace is gas and activates with a flip of a switch. It warms up quickly and throws quite a bit of heat, which was nice in the morning since we kept the bedroom colder. The unit keys also open the garage, the lobby, and the ski locker room. If you go to the hot tub bring a key to get back into the lobby.We didn't use the lobby amenities or the laundry, but both looked nice.Summit County Mountain Retreats emailed very clear check in directions a week before arrival and again the day of arrival that made check-in a breeze. Our only hiccup was that the garage entrance is just past the "no thru traffic" sign.We hope to visit again.

Good Location

Reviewer Comments: We wanted to stay in River Run so it was easy for us to move the kids to the base of the mountain. This property looks directly at the free Montezuma lot. This means that it's probably one of the furthest condos from the gondola. The condo is directly above one of the hot tubs. The guests using the hot tub are very loud at night, we could clearly hear everyone's conversations. To truly sleep 4, you need an air mattress because the sleeper sofa was uncomfortable, even for sleeper sofas. The sofa pillows are definitely well used, there are big pins holding the cover on one, be careful not to stab yourself. We were early enough to visit the property management office, boy, they need some training on customer service! People skills are not their forte. I asked about an early check in, it would cost $20, which is fine. I also asked since I was there, could you give me the key card now so we don't have to come back. The answer was a firm "no way." I am assuming they don't have the technology to turn on the card at the 4:00 check in time. In any case, I heard from them a few minutes to 4,, so early check in was clearly not an option. Once in the property, we pulled out the crock pot to make dinner, and it had the thickest crust of something burned inside it. We called their emergency line and within the hour, they came in with a new crock pot and took the filthy one. Just double check your kitchen ware to make sure everything is actually clean ahead of time. Their emergency folks do seem nice enough.About the complex:We tried out the heated outdoor pool at the Dakota Lodge, one building over. While it is heated, it's not heated enough, it was still cold in the water. The skating rink is nice, be sure to bring your own skates if you have them, the rentals don't fit quite right, they are fat around the ankles where you need the most support. Hot tubs, community tvs, pool table all seem to be nice.
