Great location, very outdated house

Pros: the location, the king bed and the outdoor space, bbq Cons: old and felt dirty, the TV only worked when it felt like it, outdated and old furniture, missing tiles in the kitchen, very old bathroom Overall we enjoyed the outdoor space and location because it’s close to everything. The listing said it had two bathrooms, it only had one.

Unfortunately, I was out of the country to take care of the property myself, I was always available to solve any question they had. The house has only one bathroom and I set it up like that the information was mistaken from VRBO, I couldn't do anything about this issue. Referring to the cleaning problem for the areas that I was informed of: Inmiddiatly I sent again a cleaning service the next day they arrived, The house is old, and there are a lot of eclectic features and art pieces, including custom furniture made by my own furniture design company. I was not aware of the missing tiles int the kitchen. The BBQ is not brand new it has only two years old and because of the ocean air is already rusting. But it is in perfect working conditions. Despite the complaints, it was not necessary to leave the place in a total mess and dirt at checking out, (When they leave the property, the whole house was like they never clean, the kitchen sink was totally plugged and food was all over the counter, stove and fridge.)

Great Location, Not As Advertised

You cannot beat the location of this property. It's in a quiet corner of the lively Venice neighborhood within a short walk of Abbot Kinney and a bit of a longer stroll to the beach. The house itself has nice bones. The layout is spacious and comfortable and the home is filled with beautiful artwork and furniture. The cleanliness and upkeep of the property leaves much to be desired, especially in the climate of Covid-19. The property felt like it received a very basic surface clean between tenants. When we brought this up to the owner, he was rather dismissive of the concerns. He had his cleaning crew come back to clean, but after expecting them to arrive at 3 PM, they did not arrive until 6 PM. We wound up hiring our own cleaning person to come in and clean the house. The facilities are in need of some maintenance and upkeep. The front deck sags horribly leaving you feeling as though you may fall through. The provided bicycles are quite worn to the point where they are not usable. The grill in the back was filthy when we arrived and even after cleaning it, we were not able to get it to start. The kitchen floor is quite old and is cracked and peeling away in several places. The dryer did not work properly, we wound up doing laundry offsite. The kitchen drawers were disorganized and dirty, with crumbs and empty food packaging inside. There was a giant dead bug on the floor of the kitchen. . This property has so much potential to be a fabulous vacation rental, but the lack of cleanliness really lets it down.
