Aunt Doodle’s House 8 blocks from Historic Main Street.. Convenient location!

Our cozy home is only 8 blocks from historic Main Street. Is easily accessible from the highlights of St. Charles. Main street has fantastic night life as well as great food. The Ameristar Casino is 1.3 miles from residence to give idea of location. Our home has been in our family since built new in 1952. Family history is shared in the kitchen area as well as in the house manual. Our home has been Updated with new living room furniture, kitchen floor, appliances, and countertops within the year. The main floor mattress has just been replaced in November 2020.
You will find the kitchen appointed with anything you might need to prepare meals if you should wish. Help yourself to anything in there. Kitchen is stocked with the basics including plates, glasses, utensils, coffee maker, coffee, toaster. The bathroom is stocked with towels, wash clothes, shampoo and body wash. This property was wonderful - a bit older, but it has plenty of character and is charming!Host was communicative, property was clean, and well described in the listing; the beds were comfortable, the kitchen well stocked, and the vibe was cozy and peaceful. The check-in and check-out process was smooth and the host responded quickly to comments made within the app.A few constructive notes for future guests: • The rug under the main floor bed is super slippery.• The entry walkway from the driveway to the front door is a bit hazardous.We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this rental!

From the moment we walked in we knew we had booked a gem. The house is charming and cozy and well appointed. We spent our girls trip there and had a blast. The house was clean, the check-in and checkout processes are easy. The host is very accessible. Thank you for making our annual girl’s trip a delight. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!!

This is a charming small home in a convenient St. Charles location. It was surface clean and comfortable (the kitchen and bathroom, and the sheets and towels, were perfectly clean), but it could really use a deep cleaning and some deferred maintenance. It would not be a good property for folks who have dust allergies or who would be bothered by the thick cobwebs on the front and back porches. Still, it was a very good value for the price.The upstairs twin beds are not especially comfortable, and the living room furniture sags a bit, but we had a lovely stay and enjoyed our time here. The host was very accessible.

This house is the perfect place to stay. A quiet neighborhood close to anything! We had everything we needed and communication was amazing. There is so much to do and see in St. Charles. Highly recommend Aunt Doodle's House, the history inside is an added bonus.

Great Experience

Great Weekend Away

My wife was in the Mosaics art fair and this was the perfect place to stay. It was close enough to main street to walk if we wanted to. It was also very accomodating.

My daughter and I stayed for a few days while we got her moved into her house on the Lindenwood campus. The location was perfect. 5 minute drive to her house. We needed a place with a washer dryer because we bought all her linens there instead of dragging them across the country. The W/D is in the basement. It is fine for those able bodied but the stairs are steep so be prepared if you need to use it. The accessibility to the front door would also be an issue for anyone with mobility issues. There is no paved walkway. If you have mobility issues you would need to go in through the back door for safety. We certainly enjoyed the history of the house. The owners have curated it very well. It’s like a mini museum. The updates they have done are keeping within the character of the home. The host was very responsive and helpful with my questions. We would definitely stay here again and suggest you give it a try if you don’t need to be on Main Street in St. Charles. It is much quieter than Main Street and a quick couple minutes drive to get there or the Streets of St. Charles.
