We enjoyed staying at the house however ants were a major problem. Everything edible had to be kept in the fridge. Also the plastic bathroom fittings were all falling apart. We were not sure what to do about rubbish so took it away with us. The native bush track nearby was a big plus. We hadn’t realised it was there.

A very pleasant setting, an easy walk to the lake and with a good outlook. Comfortable two bedroom bach.

Top of the lane review

A really enjoyable few days at a holiday home to which we have returned regularly. The house has all the basics and the provision of towels and bed linen was appreciated. A new BBQ has been provided. Again, this is appreciated.

The property was adequate but very expensive for what it was, only 2 bedrooms. The fire place was great. It didn't have wifi. Nice big deck and good views. Bodywash was show in the shower would have been useful. Good communication from Bachcare. Pukawa is a beautiful spot.

Wonderful View and Location

Wonderful view of Lake Taupo and the native bush. Birds sung all day. Property could use some work. When the house was shut up for the night it was very hot. Too hot to sleep. May want to consider making fans available as there was noting to cool the house and no bugs screens to leave the windows open. Communication with Bachcare to gain access to the property was shocking. Will be avoiding booking with Bachcare again.
