Wonderful, helpful hosts have a cabin on site. Lovely view, spacious area with all the utilities you need (water, power, sewer). Conveniently located between Wilkesboro and Boone areas. The community has beautiful waterfalls, trails, restrooms and a community center. I would recommend it for a peaceful, quiet stay just be aware that the 6 miles inside the gated community to the RV site is very winding and hilly with some paved and some gravel roads.
We experienced having our own camper parked on a private site, full hookup including power with an exceptional view just 30 min from the festival. It could not have been more perfect including the weather. Our family of 4 had everything to make it one of our most memorable vacations together. Thank you to our most gracious hosts Maureen and Michael.

So glad you were able to join us this year! Looking forward to your return for future events on Buck Mountain and area events. Such a pleasure meeting your family! So glad we added septic this year.
We were unable to make it but kept trying to get there. As a bedside nurse during COVID we were so looking forward to this little retreat. Unfortunately we were not able to get there but the owner's had amazing communication and understanding, this meant the world to us. We will make a trip at some point bc we so looking forward to this destination.

Things happen during Covid, Thanks for letting me know, looking forward to when you can come!
We took the kids on a last-minute camping trip and found the perfect spot hidden atop the Blue Ridge Mountains. Within minutes of booking, the owner of the lot (Maureen) called me to confirm our reservation and provide us with details of the surrounding area. She greeted us within minutes of our arrival and remained in contact with us during our stay. Absolutely beautiful campsite with a breathe-taking view, even on a foggy day. We loved the freedom of being able to park our RV in the middle of the mountains on private land, rather than public/state parks full of regulations. We will definitely book again!!

Gina and her family were wonderful guests. It was a honor to have them camp on our spare lot! We look forward to their return!
We had a great visit with Maureen and Michael (with their adorable Golden Retriever Bella not far behind). The campsite is the lot next door to their property in the Buck Mountain gated community. During our stay the electricity went out, but no fear! They had a generator they quickly turned on for us so we could keep our food cold, and the A/C blowing. It's about a 15-20 drive to town for groceries, and about 30 mins from downtown Boone. They had an 50 ft extension cord for 30 amp service, which was perfect. We had a great view of the mountains and plenty of room for the kids to run around. They also have a hot tub that was available for us to use, but we ran out of time. Can't wait to go back!

Looking forward to having your family come camp again. Hope you enjoyed the smores kit and glad the weather finally cooperated! Glad we had that generator to keep your family up and running when the power company could not! Thank you! Your family is precious! Hope your daughter enjoyed her first day at kindergarden!
The site is essentially the owner's separate lot with a free-standing garage. The site has RV electric and water.
The location on Buck Mtn is beautiful with little development. Maureen is a fantastic and attentive host.
My only caution is the partially developed mountain road up Buck Mtn. It is narrow, windy, steep with stretches that are not paved, or in need of repair. We have a truck camper on a 4x4 F-350 and the drive up was a source of significant anxiety for this flat-lander. We also lost cell service that defeated our navigation app. I would not recommend for a large RV unless the operator has high expertise & confidence.
The difficult access was the only reason I didn't give a higher overall score. Again, the site is nice and Maureen is absolutely terrific. Once the roads are complete, I would rate this as 4+ stars.

I am glad you enjoyed your stay! 3.5 miles are paved roads and 1.4 miles are gravel roads. The HOA is paving all the roads in the future. All roads in the mountains have turns and have 2 lanes and all accommodate a 36’ RV without any issues. We drive ours up there all the time. You just have to get used to mountain roads. You do loose cell service in the mountains in some areas but that is why I send directions and advise to print! To get to the top and have the views we have on our site is worth the trip! We look forward to your return!
This place is really nice with a spectacular view. It’s a bit off the beaten track and you can still hear highway noise, surprisingly. This was all we could find near Boone which is where we were going so we booked it. Boone is a 30 minute drive. Spent very little time at the site. Just slept there. The owner was helpful in suggesting places to eat and directions to property. No sewer hookups, just water and electricity. They did provide fireWood for the fireplace. If you want to be away from everything, this is the place for you. We had some minor issues pulling our 30ft travel trailer up the steep hills. Don’t take any wrong turns because it was very hard to find a place to turn around. Our GPS actually took us right to the spot. This place is a private mountain community with some amenities like fishing and trails. We didn’t use any of them. We did think the price was a little high at 200. For 2 nights considering no sewer and a 30 minute drive to town.

Our rate is only $75 a night plus vrbo fees. Sorry you didn't get to enjoy the beautiful features of Buck mountain. I am glad you enjoyed the beautiful views and the peaceful area.
The owners were some of the best people I have ever dealt with they were super nice and welcoming and I will definitely be booking here again without a doubt and I encourage other people to book here.
Beautiful, private, peaceful, clean & large campsite. Presently surprised by how large the lot is with easy access. We couldn’t be more pleased with the gorgeous view. Added bonus is passing a waterfall in the way in. Great fire pit & they supplied the wood for the fire!! Property Manager quick to answer any questions & we’ve actually made new friends with them! If you’re looking for a campsite that checks all the boxes for a great getaway look no further!!
If I had to mention a negative about our stay here, it would have to be that I only booked one night! We loved this spot. An incredibly hospitable host….We will definitely be back and highly recommend!

You made my day! Glad you enjoyed your visit and look forward to your return! Thank you!! There is so much to do at our mountain escape! I could sit and enjoy the views most of all! Maureen
If you want to be in the mountains this is a perfect retreat with a beautiful view. We drove a 35 foot RV to a gated mountain, with paved wide roads. We were worried when we turned off on a gravel road, but had no problems driving in the community. The weather has been great and has shopping and recreation all around. We needed more time then a weekend.
“ Literally the most incredible getaway we have ever found. This stay could not have been any better. The location is straight out of a fairy tale... on top of a beautiful mountain, overlooking an endless forest. There are incredible waterfalls, and hiking trails everywhere. Maureen and Michael absolutely define the word “hospitality”. They did so much to make this trip memorable, and it was! Not only did we create memories that will last a lifetime, but also met lifelong friends as well. We cannot recommend this stay enough. You absolutely must see for yourself. “
