Everything about this place, location and host was fantastic. From the beginning allowing flexibility with our dates to easy communication and check in/out- all very smooth. Great location to access stargazing at Cherry Springs as well as access to state parks. The house was well stocked from kitchen to bathroom and the living areas very comfortable. Main bed quite comfortable! Upper deck was very nice to also see the stars from the house.

So glad you had a great time , and thank you for taking such great care of our house and property we hope you visit again in the future
If you are looking for a wonderful great outdoors getaway with all the creature comforts of home, this is the place to go! The atmosphere, exquisite rustic interior decorating, the working woodstove that heats the whole house, the convenience of being literally down the road from Cherry Springs, plus all modern conveniences, makes for an easy and luxurious break from the daily grind. Instruments for stargazing are provided, as well as info for local stores, restaurants, etc.
The only minor con would be that your GPS will not direct you to the location (it'll direct you to the house next door), and the sign and address number are a little difficult to see from the road coming from either direction.
But overall, an absolutely unforgettable experience!
Perfect location. Well-appointed house - everything you could want/need. Lots around to get to during the day. And just minutes from the star-gazing fields of Cherry Springs
So we had booked this property in early March of 2022 not knowing anything about rentals. The process was easy and very affordable. Now we are here in August and Arnie the owner had gotten in touch with us a couple of weeks before the actual rental date to let us know how we went about getting keys and access to the home. He was very attentive in giving us not only instructions but also information about the area. When we got to the house it was a very clean and a spacious house that was suitable for 6 adults. It was equipped with just about everything you would need to stay at a camping area without having to stay outdoors. Arne was very helpful in telling us about areas to go stargazing besides Cherry Springs observatory which is about 2 minutes away from Aquilas Nest. We got to enjoy 4 nights of campfires, roasting marshmallows, grilling and lots of laughter in a very cozy place. To top our stay on our last night there we enjoyed the company of a momma bear and her 4 cubs that came to visit. The stars were life changing and we want to make this a yearly stay. THANK YOU ARNE! We are getting ready to book again for our next family get together. We had fun and didn't want to leave!
We came up to see the persiad meteor shower and had a wonderful time. The place was spotless and well furnished with many extra touches. Quiet, roomy and comfortable.
One of the best places we have ever stayed at--we are planning to come up again.
Our trip was wonderful. We had two great nights for stargazing at Cherry Springs and also enjoyed the lake at Lyman Run state park. Our hosts were more than helpful and the cabin is fully equipped with everything to make your stay as close to home as possible. We appreciate the opportunity to make memories with the kids and they are asking to return next summer. Thank you very much for a perfect trip and we will be back!
Our vacation at Aquilla's Nest was perfect. The cabin is beautiful, immaculate, comfortable and has everything you need to escape to the Pennsylvania Wilds. Our Host, Arne, felt like a family member. He communicated with us before our stay recommending places to visit around the area.He alerted us to star events and just made sure everything was just right. I cannot tell you how important that is when you are away from home and visiting a new area. The property has all that you need for a getaway to Pennsylvania countryside. Cherry Springs Park on a clear night is a life changing event. You cannot believe how beautiful a night sky can be. This was one of the best vacations we have ever hadand the cabin was a big part of it. Arne thought of everything to the smallest detail. Do not hesitate to book this vacation spot. You will not regret it. Thank you Arne so much.
A wonderful cabin just seconds from the amazing experience that is Cherry Springs’ dark skies. A perfect base for family members less interested in sleeping in a tent but still wanting to see the night sky. Comfortable beds, clean and well organized kitchen, reliable internet, and nature in all four sides. Will easily recommend to friends. Thank you!
Awesome property and super clean! The host, Arne, was also very helpful and communicative. This was everything we needed for our four day trip, located right down the street from the Cherry Springs star viewing area. We’ll be back!
The house, location, and weather were perfect. The house is very nice, very clean, and well stocked. The owners were super helpful and very informative. They reached out to us before and after our stay. The location is two steps from Cherry Springs! And very central to all our day trips and restaurants. We also loved the wood burning stove 😀 We had a terrific time !
Hop, skip and a jump from Cherry Springs State Park
It has always been a bucket list item to view the milky way and a meteor shower at Cherry Springs State Park. We found this property with a location of less than a mile from the Park. It is a great house for 6 people. It's clean, spacious and has all the amenities you would want. The owner was happy to answer questions before and during our stay. We would definitely come back for another celestial event.
We needed a place to stay for 3 guys on an archery trip. This cabin was perfect. It was very clean and all of the amenities worked perfect for us. We also had some visits from local wild life that we found to be quite entertaining. The management team was exceptional staying in contact and recommending places to get food, sight see, etc.
We had a wonderful experience here. The house was clean, well-maintained, and stocked with everything we needed. (The s'mores supplies were a welcome touch, as we forgot to pack our own chocolate!) It was a cozy place to come back after our outdoor adventures. The property was also well-maintained and we enjoyed the fire pit and sitting on the deck outside to listen to the birds or to watch the stars at night. Perfect location to get to Cherry Springs State Park! All communication with the hosts was friendly, helpful, and prompt. We would love to come back and stay again! Thank you!!

So glad you guys had fun and would love to have you back. Thank you
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Aquilla's nest. Arne came up and had the wood stove going for when we arrived on Friday, son the cabin was nice and toasty! The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in away from home. The little extra touches of having shampoo, bodywash, and other necessities were awesome to find. My husband and I look forward to going back!
Aside from the clouds :( we had a great stay at Aquila’s Nest. The host was incredibly kind and communicative and ensured we had everything we needed for a great stay. The house is definitely as advertised!! Definitely recommend this home.
We took a risk on an early-season trip to see stars at Cherry Springs during our kids' Spring Break. Worked out great, had one very clear (but cold!) night of stargazing, and a couple days of nice hikes in the woods and relaxing at the cabin. Hosts reached out to us before our trip and provided lots of useful information. Cabin was a great place to slow down and relax for a few days. It was cold during our stay, but the wood stove kept things warm enough, and keeping it running provided additional entertainment for our teenaged son. I would recommend warm sleepwear for guests in the downstairs bedrooms.
We enjoyed our stay at Aquila’s Nest! It is in a perfect location for exploring the many state parks in Potter and adjoining counties, especially Cherry Springs State Park about a mile away. The accommodations were very comfortable and the kitchen had most everything we needed for cooking our meals. We enjoyed a fire in the fire ring - There was plenty of wood for that and the woodstove although we didn’t need to use the stove - the supplemental heater was plenty of heat for the middle of October. It was nice that all other items we needed were supplied including paper products and bath towels. The only thing I would caution is the half bath is a toilet outside! It didn’t bother us but renters should be aware. We would definitely rent again!

So glad you had a great time at Aquila's Nest and thank you for taking good care of the property.
I can't say enough good things about this place. Perfect location and super close to Cherry Springs. It had all the amenities you could possibly need. Secluded and a great get away from daily life. The host was super helpful & had great communication. My only regret is not being able to stay longer. Hope to come back soon!!!
The property was a lovely cabin that was well appointed and, to our needs, well located. The beds were very comfortable as well as the living area furniture. In all I would highly recommend cabin for a nice family getaway.
