About this property
Mount Snow Post and Beam House
New post and beam house, Higley Hill Lodge. Within 17 minutes of Mount Snow and 10 min to the charming village of Wilmington. Two golf courses within 15 minutes, great hiking and mountain biking nearby. Lake Raponda is about five minutes away and Harriman reservoir is about 20 minutes away. With beautiful views of Mount Snow, the house is warm and cozy and rustic yet elegant. With a wood burning stove, heated mudroom, down comforters, cathedral living room ceiling. The house sits on 10 acres of very private wooded land. Beautiful back deck with views of Mount Snow. Great house for children, the house has sleds and a great backyard for sledding. Good collection of DVDs for kids and adults.
Newly finished basement with master bedroom with king bed, bunk room with one bunkbed, one full bathroom with shower and living area with kitchenette.
There are some great restaurants/watering holes in Wilmington and in West Dover both about 10 minutes away. They have everything from family restaurants to high-end restaurants being close to a major ski area. There are two very nice lakes nearby, one just a few minutes down the road, Lake Raponda a small but very pretty lake good for swimming and the other Harriman reservoir, a much larger lake good for boating and swimming. There’s also a beautiful little reservoir at Woodford State Park, the highest campground in the state, about 25 minutes away. All the bedding is nice high thread count hundred percent cotton mostly organic and down comforters. There is no Wi-Fi or cable but the cell service is very good and a personal hotspot works well.
The house water is from a well and usually can only keep up with the demand of one shower at a time.
Only about 2 1/2 hours from Boston and Providence and an 1 hr 40 min from Hartford. And about 3 hrs 45 min from NYC.
Four-wheel-drive is recommended in the winter.
