This perfect bungalow is footsteps away from the flair and thoroughfare that make Magazine Street a wonder. Walk to the city’s best bars, galleries, coffee shops, restaurants and live music. Whether you’re in for a festival, enjoying a romantic getaway or want to be in the heart of it all without all the hassles of a downtown hotel, our historic cottage is painstakingly renovated so you have an easy, nearby, spotless, comfortable place to rest your head at the end of a long day in the city!

The space
You’ll have a fully private suite with a private entrance. The tastefully decorated queen bedroom features an ensuite bathroom with marble counters and a jetted Jacuzzi tub. In the generously stocked kitchenette, you’ll find a fridge, microwave and Keurig machine. A few extras: walk-in closet; luxury linens, salon shampoos, plus the little things you might have forgotten to pack. We’ve also equipped the room with a high-def TV including Netflix, Hulu, and other bingeable options (but who needs that when you’ve got NOLA to watch?)

This belle maison was originally constructed in 1860 and then lovingly completely updated in 2008. The work was deemed worthy of the Honor Award from the New Orleans Historic Districts Landmarks Commission shortly thereafter.

Perfect place to relax

I was in town for a short trip on my own and I couldn't have asked for a better location, or a more relaxing spot to end the day. This place is 10x better than staying at a hotel and I'll definitely be looking for it when I come back!

This place is so cute and Judi provides all the things you’ll need. It’s also in a great area for fun shops and great food. And as a bonus, it’s away from the noise and parties.

Lovely stay

We really enjoyed staying at Judy's place. We really appreciated the extra touches like local beer and chips, plus coffee and supplies. It was conveniently located enough to be a short Uber ride to the French Quarter but also a quiet place to be after. We enjoyed walking along Magazine St for restaurants nearby too. Definitely recommend The District for breakfast and Gris Gris for dinner!

Superb studio

A bit off Magazine, this charming studio is a refreshing oasis. Lovely, clean and comfortable, it's an ideal retreat from the hot weather and noise of the city. Decor is tasteful, the bedroom is adorable and the small touches make this accommodation one of the best we've stayed in. Hope to return here soon!

Perfect Location

We loved this place! It had everything we needed - even coffee, waters, and a welcome basket full of goodies. Great restaurants in walking distance. (Lilly's Cafe has amazing Vietnamese - Houston's a few blocks further and near the streetcar has great cocktails, live music, and food is on point). Bed is super comfy, plenty of lighting, and the linens are very nice and plentiful. Would stay again.

This was such a lovely little property to spend the week in. Judy was amazing and let us check in and drop off our stuff early. The property itself was well kept and in a great location that was close enough to get to lots of stuff, but far enough off the main drag that you could get some peace and quiet when you need it. 10/10 would definitely stay here again.

If you are looking for a nice, cozy place to stay with all the accommodations this is it! I fell in love with Judy's place from the details, to the cleanness of this place. Quick Get Away

The property was great and perfect for a nice getaway. My fiancé and I were going on one last vacation before getting married and this was the perfect place. Right near some great food places and only a short and cheap uber ride (if you don't have a car) to the French Quarter. Judy had the place well stocked and was super clean. She was easily available and I would recommend anyone to stay over here!

Had a great time at the house! Worth the stay just for the jacuzzi and super comfy bed. My fiancé and I had a blast. Only thing worth noting is the front door opens into the bedroom. A little street noise, but it comes with the territory in NOLA.

Hidden Gem off Magazine Street

Overall, a fabulous experience staying at this suite off Magazine St. Check in made simple...all instructions were text to us prior to check in. The suite is stocked with extra accessories that are often needed when traveling but forgotten. Judy is very accommodating, easy to communicate with and all-around an excellent host. Highly recommended.

Super clean!

No issues checking in. Everything was sent by text prior to arriving. Very clean room, with everything already there, in case you forget something! LoL! Location is great, not even a half a block to Magazine St, with all the restaurants, clubs, antique stores, you can imagine. Good place to start a self guided tour of the Garden District too! We highly recommend this property.

This was an amazing stay. We enjoyed the neighborhood. We felt safe and encountered no issues here. It was very clean and well stocked. Parking is easy and we were able to park right across the street in front of the building.

Great location, great experience!

Me and my wife were in town to visit new orleans. We both have lived here years ago and both agree the location was perfect. The room was clean and we had everything we could possibly need for our stay. The host, Judy, was on it! Would gladly stay here again. My husband and I had a great stay at Judy's place. It was spotless, wonderful fluffy towels and comfy bed. The kitchenette served us fine for coffee and breakfast. The location is great for walking to Juan's Flying Burrito, Gris Gris, and Jewels Bodegas on Magazine Street. The lower garden district was a bit further from the French Quarter than we thought, so we ubered there and to the Riverwalk. The best part of the stay was Judy herself. She was so helpful, kind and pleasant. She answered all our questions and shared great tips for enjoying New Orleans. I recommend this VRBO for a relaxing stay!

Jazz Fest/vacation 2025

Judy’s place was the perfect spot for our 1 week stay. Size and location were exactly what we were looking for. This sweet studio with a petite kitchenette and closet provided enough space for us and our belongings for the week, but was so much more! Seriously, Judy thought of everything her guests could need/want when they’re away from home. The bed, with its luxurious sheets, pillows, and blankets to the sizable bathroom with a long vanity (I always appreciate having a good amount of space to place our toiletries down) and deep jetted tub had us feeling relaxed every night we came back and refreshed every day we headed out. The remote blackout shades and the air conditioner split ensured we slept well. So many thoughtful touches, I can go on and on, but you’ll have to see for yourselves. What I will say is Judy is such a super host! From beginning to end communicating with Judy was easy and seamless. She really cares about her guests’ experience, we felt it. We even got to meet her and her friend right as we were loading our vehicle to head home and it confirmed how thoughtful and kind she is. We look forward to coming back and hopefully staying at Judy’s pad again!

1st Trip to New Orleans

Judy was an amazing host! Organized, thoughtful and welcoming. This space was perfect for a solo traveler who had never been to New Orleans. It was clean, convenient for walking and well stocked with the little details that are often forgotten. I would definitely stay here again.

I was born and raised in South Louisiana and absolutely love New Orleans! We recently moved here to be closer to family, but have traveled the world and wouldn't rather be anywhere else - the music, festivals, laissez faire attitude, and liveliness of this city is like no other! I've worked in the design industry my entire career and am very attune to detail, cleanliness, presentation and comfort. We love meeting new people, but will most certainly give you privacy.

Why they chose this property

The location of our home could not be more perfect in the heart of the historic Lower Garden District!!! We're tucked only steps away from Magazine Street, which is engulfed in local food, coffee, bars and boutique shopping; however, we're also just steps away from Downtown and the French Quarter. If you want a local, clean, comfortable experience that is close enough to any New Orleans activity, you've found the perfect place.

What makes this property unique

Our historic home is in the Lower Garden District with a walk score of 97 out of 100. You have your own entrance to a studio apartment with a small kitchenette (no sink), private bathroom, and luxurious bed. There's a keypad on the door so you don't have to rely on us, but we live on site. Your studio is completely independent of our home and we hope you enjoy the location as much as we do. (No shared space, the spaces do not connect) Free street parking is plentiful most days!
