Beautiful, spacious mountaintop get away located on The Ten mile river in Dutchess County. Wraparound deck offering panoramic views. Gorgeous spacious living room area with an abundance of light. Master bedroom suite with king-size bed and master bath with walk-in shower and soaking tub.
There is a small "Caretakers Quarters" under the house. It has its own private entrance and it does not share any spaces with the rest of the house. My wife is usually staying in the quarters to keep up property grounds maintenance. She will not enter the house during a guests stay or need to socialize with the guests. She is however available if needed for an emergency.

My husband and two adult children and I thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay. The large, sunny well furnished living area made us all happy. Beautiful surroundings.
What a beautiful setting. The house is very inviting, comfortable and serene. So nice to sit out on the deck in the morning and enjoy the view of the hills in the distance. Saw deer and wild turkey also. The kitchen is well appointed with plenty of the necessities. Both bedrooms very comfortable. No neighbors. Quiet and peaceful. Will definitely stay again.
Gorgeous views of the night sky in this beautiful mountain top home. Very secluded and safe in the woods. We were looking for a get away with some biking. Recomend the Dutchess Rail Trail (a short drive away) to the Walk over the Hudson River! Found another gem in the woods at Plan Bee Brewery. Great house for our experience!
The photos do not do justice to this house which has the most beautiful 360 degree views. Once one is on the property, it is hard to imagine that civilization (and Metro North) are only minutes away. The expansive deck faces the Taconic range, and, looking East, as the crow flies, there is literally nothing but wild mountains and lakes between you and Kent, Connecticut - nothing but acres of unbuilt lakes and preserved forests, as per Google Maps satellite imagery.
On our second day, a bald eagle flew right past the front of the deck, and minutes later we were treated to the sight of a bobcat. The property also adjoins a 3500 thousand acre preserve, stocked with gorgeous pheasants who occasionally visit the property, along with beautiful wild turkeys. I mention this to underscore the fact that you will feel you are very far away from the big city!
The house is thoughtfully and elegantly designed, with views from every single window. . The insulation and heating were excellent when we visited on a cold, rainy early April weekend. There are even floors with radiant heat, as in the living room and bathroom. The WIFI is rock solid and we enjoyed watching movies on the ROKU. This house must be comfortable in every season.
CONGRATULATIONS to those responsible for the cleaning - all was absolutely spotless. Fluffy throws, lovely crisp sheets, impeccable bath towels create a feeling of well being and comfort.
I highly recommend this house., and suggest that before your arrival, you double-check that you know how to use the VRBO app. The owner provides all the instructions regarding the house are on the App, which I had never used before and was confused by, but the owner was easily contacted and answered with wonderful promptness and clarity! Thank you so much, Phil!
There is also a remarkable inn just minutes up the road - the Drover's Inn, which dates from the mid-1700's. We had a wonderful dinner, and the friendly bartender gave us and some other diners an informal tour of this historic inn. Both food and especially the cocktails were delicious!
Our excursions took us to Milbrook, Millerton, Ancram, Lakeville, Sharon, Cornwall and Kent - lots of beautiful landscapes to andmire and cute towns to visit in the area.
All in all, an idyllic vacation, and so near NYC!
A beautiful home in a gorgeous location! Great sunrises, peaceful surroundings, access to wonderful restaurants (especially in Milllbrook) and Innisfree Botanical Garden.
This was an awesome property with a beautiful house and a stunning view, plenty of room for family and friends in an extremely clean house on a perfect secluded property. Couldn’t ask for more I would 100% recommend and I will likely to stay here again, owners were beyond nice and easy to talk to answering all questions quickly! Great place
this place is amazing. true seclusion while being close to amenities, responsive hosts, and a very comfortable house. i cannot recommended this property highly enough.
We had an incredibly lovely time spending a week at this special place. Inside the home is so comfortable -- couches and pillows and soft blankets galore, great beds, a well-equipped kitchen, and strong AC for those muggy afternoons. Outside the home is a dream of a deck and a view you can't get enough of. We watched the full moon rising over the mountains in awe. We had great day-trips to the Trevor Zoo and Millerton and to Pawling Bread Company. Closer by, Dover Stone Church, Lucky Orphan's Horse Rescue and Kelly's Ice Cream were all real treats. A gem.
