About this property

Our beautiful and welcoming home, perched high above the Ashokan Reservoir, is spacious, well appointed, sun filled, and powered by the sun! The property offers stunning 180 degree views of the southern Catskills Mountains and of the Mohonk Mountain preserve.

Besides the view, the property offers a luxurious in ground pool, fenced-in, one acre yard, another acre of lawn and gardens to the side of the house, plus a large, outdoor deck facing the reservoir with Weber gas grill, comfortable lounge furniture, and views of the sunset that will leave you breathless.

Our mountain top home is located on a mile long, dead-end road, great for morning runs and evening walks.

Indoors, three bedrooms upstairs all have comfortable, queen sized beds, air conditioning, and large California Closet style closets. The upstairs bath is reminiscent of 1920s New York City with dark blue and white hexagon tiled floor, regal pedestal sink, and spa quality rain shower fixture. The main suite, which can be closed off from the rest of the upstairs area, offers a spacious, walk in closet with many hanging and storage options, and an ensuite bath with dreamy, clawfoot tub plus beautiful vanity and magnificent sink. There's even extra space for luggage and belongings in an adjunct space behind the bedroom that we use as a work out space.

Downstairs, the completely renovated kitchen includes a Wolf range, large Sub Zero fridge, and Bosch dishwasher and microwave. Pots, pans, chef knifes, and kitchen tools make for easy prep of any meal or celebration you desire.

The living room area is comfortable and cozy with air conditioning, large, sectional sofa, Smart TV offering endless entertainment, wood burning fireplace (plenty of firewood available), card game table, and AirPlay speakers for streaming music. There's another full bath in this area with antique vanity and rain shower fixture in the bath. And, two sliding glass doors lead out to the large deck where you'll find a Weber gas grill and cozy lounge furniture, all overlooking the glorious Ashokan Reservoir.

Other important information includes automatic-on generator in case of power outage, high speed Wifi throughout, Ring Doorbell camera at front door, cell phone service, seven minutes drive to the Village of Woodstock, private and quiet setting, and....did we mention the view?

Another perfect stay with an amazing view

Nice weekend getaway

Had an enjoyable weekend stay with my family! Perfect weather for pool and exploring nearby towns. House was super clean and bedrooms were very comfortable. View from yard/deck and back windows was spectacular, and being up high allowed for amazing star viewing at night.

Family Retreat

This was a wonerful family getaway. The property was just as expected with no surprises. The house was well appointed, very clean and the veiw was out of this world! My 6 year old grandson (and the whole family) enjoyed the pool. This was just what we needed for a family vacation filled with rest and relaxation! We will absolutely be back!

Wonderful getaway

My family and I had an excellent stay. The pool was a wonderful treat for my grandson and we loved the view. We highly recommend the rental. There was plenty of space for the 5 of us to spread out and enjoy. As someone who loves to cook, the stove was amazing! Note - the primary bedroom does not have a formal shower (clawfoot tub with handheld shower). There are two formal showers (one in the second upstairs bathroom and one in the bathroom on the first floor).

Spectacular Views

The views at this property are spectacular and visible from almost every room in the house. The house is a short and easy drive to downtown Woodstock and also nearby to some great hikes. The house is updated and clean, which made our stay very comfortable.

Wonderful Winter Weekend Getaway

My daughter and I had a terrific weekend. The weather was a little rough but the house was a magical, warm, cozy oasis. The view was gorgeous even when weather was bad, and breathtaking when the weather turned good. The house is spacious, open, large, clean, and delightfully colorful. The beds were comfy and the view from the bedrooms is glorious. The bathrooms and (large!) kitchen are clean and modern. The proximity to downtown Woodstock is 5-7 minutes. It was really a perfect getaway. We want to come back in the summer to enjoy the pool and deck and greenery!

We absolutely loved this house! It was perfect for 3 couples. We only cooked breakfast but the kitchen was spacious with nice appliances. Living room couch was plenty big for 6 adults. One shower is located off of the living room (one shower and one tub on the second floor). We even lucked out with some warm weather and could enjoy the gorgeous views! Can't wait to come back in the summer and enjoy the pool!

Peaceful Spot with Gorgeous View!

The location is amazing - so serene and the 180 degrees of views were unbelievable. Privacy and quiet, yet so close to Woodstock and great take out options to heat up with a glass of wine and take in the sunset. We had everything we needed to relax and enjoy this spacious and comfortable home. We spotted eagles and the twinkling night sky was just phenomenal. Check in/out was simple. Property manager was easy to reach and helpful from initial booking to check out. Great recommendations for restaurants and supplies. Loved everything about our stay. This home books out so far in advance - grab a time quickly. Our next stay is already booked!!

The location of the house is stunning. The inside is somewhat bleak, with only two chairs by the main fire. We brought chairs from the deck so all of us could sit by the fire. It was really cold outside and so we all wished to sit by the fire was vital. The main sitting area is focussed on the TV, and not on the stunning view outside, so not a pleasant area to sit and chat. The kitchen has the equipment as stated, but the oven was filthy and many of the pots and pans also were dirty. The plates and mugs are of low quality. The bed linen was crumpled and not ironed., though it did seem to have been laundered.

Beauty of Woodstock

First let me start off by saying this property is incredibly beautiful and peaceful. The views are magnificent! The house and property are stunning. Professional chef kitchen was a plus. I did encounter a few issues during my stay. There were a lot of lady bugs hibernating in the house. I am not too crazy about lady bugs but they pretty much stayed to their corners. I did arrive on a snowstorm day. Snow started on the evening that I arrived and we got about over a foot of snow. I tried contacting the property manager regarding plowing the snow. It was not easy getting in touch with her. She did contact me the next day via email that someone was going to plow in the evening. It started snowing Wednesday evening and I was told Thursday evening someone would come to plow. No one ever showed up so I tried contacting Kim the property manager to advise her and she never contacted me back. I called her twice, sent her an email and text and didn’t receive a response. I had to call VRBO to let them know I was snowed in I couldn’t get out of the front door or drive out and I had 3 kids under 3 with me. I needed to get into town but I was stuck in the house. They reached out to Kim and she finally called me to tell me someone was coming to plow. She seemed very bothered about the situation or that I was calling her regarding this issue. I had explained to her I have little kids and I needed to go to town and I couldn’t because of how high the snow was. She told me there were shovels and salt and if needed I can use them to dig myself out. I really don’t feel that a renter should have to dig themselves out of property that they paid to stay in. If I got hurt or my children they would be responsible. She really didn’t seem concerned or apologetic at all which is sad. I use VRBO frequently and never experienced this with any other property ow er or manager. I am a very good renter and pleasant to deal with. I took pics of how much snowfall was on the property and also the lady bug nuisance as proof of my experience. I def don’t want this experience to take away from how great this property was but I wish that it was managed better. It’s not like I stayed there for free. I would still recommend this house with the hopes that the management will provide a better experience for the guest.
