Beautiful, beautiful view- saw sea lions, seals, birds and even a pod of porpoises. Home was immaculate and comfy with the amenities one could ever need. Host was kind and responsive. I use VRBO a lot and this is one of my top stays ever. We will be back 100%. Magical place
Everything about this home was charming from the waterfront setting to the front entrance and collection of family treasures in between. Simply delightful!
My family and I loved staying at this beautiful and very charming home! Our host and homeowner Jane has many thoughtful touches for her guests that we greatly appreciated. Her lovely home is very comfortable and inviting inside and out with many chairs to relax in. We enjoyed gathering in the sunroom or down by the water with incredible views of Puget Sound, watching the seals, harbor porpoises, jumping fish and boats of all sizes. The beautifully landscaped yard even has an apple tree with the most delicious apples. This wonderful home is very special, and we would love to stay here again!
We had a great time! Home centrally located by Tacoma We all loved watching the birds, seals, and waves in the Puget Sound from the living room windows Great hosts!
The house and location were perfect for our family trip! Thanks to our host Jane for being so accommodating!

Great Stay on the Sound
We had an amazing stay in this beautiful home. The setting right on the water was unbeatable while the remoteness on Days Island felt like a true escape despite being very convenient to Seattle/Tacoma. The house had everything we needed with plenty of space - I can't wait to book another stay here.
Property was beautiful, right on the water and the host was very kind and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay would come again. There’s not enough kind words to use, but my two kiddos had a blast
This was the most charming home in a beautiful and cozy neighborhood. Everything was just as described. We had an amazing stay and hope to be back one day!
We loved this place! The views from the home were stunning. Our kids loved the backyard and going out the water when the tide was out. The location was great, and it made for the perfect family get-away with my in laws, brother, and two kids. This is a really special spot with the most amazing owners who we were fortunate enough to meet! Thanks for such a wonderful stay.
We loved our stay. House was clean and beds were comfortable. Every room offered a vista of the Puget Sound. Sunsets were spectacular and we found ourselves drawn to the back lawn. If we’re ever back in the neighborhood, we’d surely pick this home.
We enjoyed this property immensely. Very comfortable and amazing place to watch sea life. Great communication with owner. Well stocked and a quiet getaway.
We were delighted with the location, especially the view. As older adults we had 3 trip and fall on the first carpet, didn't think we would but it happened. But we really enjoyed the grounds and the cornhole game. Lots of space made it nice for the family to do separate activities.
Wonderful Easter weekend with family at this beautiful property on the water with unbelievable sunsets and an amazing view of the Olympics. Host was excellent. House was well stocked. We will definitely be back!
This is the best short-term rental house I've ever stayed in. The experience from beginning to end was easy and seamless; the owner is lovely. The house is perfectly appointed with great linens and plenty of kitchen supplies.
It is comfortable and homey and there is no beating the view. Overall, it was lovely and we hope to return soon.
Incredibly beautiful house and setting right on the sound. Playing bags on the back lawn with the sun setting over the water was a moment I’ll never forget. The house is over 100 years old so it has a quirk or two, but it more than makes up for it with all of its charm and comfort—the beds were all incredibly comfortable. Jane is a great host as well. I look forward to staying here again!
Great location and views. Unfortunately for us they had not replaced the windows yet, so we had a cloudy view through the windows. The bedrooms are nicely decorated. I’m sure they will update the living room/sunroom furniture in time. There was a nice supply of kitchen ware and condiments. We really enjoyed the fireplace as well.
Over all it was a wonderful place. I would stay here again. Thank you to our wonderful host Jane.

Hi Christine, we're so glad you had a wonderful stay here! The homeowners are happy to report that the new windows have been installed, so guests can fully enjoy the beautiful views. Thanks for letting us know about your stay; we would love to host you again!
Very cool older property in a quiet neighborhood with a gorgeous location on the water. Our family of 5 used this house as a base for exploring Seattle for a few days and found it clean and comfortable. We enjoyed relaxing by the water and watching the seals swim by while watching the sun set over the Olympics. Host reached out before our arrival via text to let us know she would be available should we need anything. You could tell that this house has been a family home for years, which gave us a much better vibe than just a rental property. Highly recommend

Magical
This was our second time staying at Jane’s home. We absolutely love it here. It is cozy and beautiful, and the peacefulness of being on the water just fills my heart each time. The kitchen is well stocked, the beds are so comfortable and the view is like nothing else. My nephews absolutely love it here— so much so that they refer to it as “our house” now when they visit. We loved tide pooling, and even launched our SUP from here in the summer. The resident seal visits most days and we even saw porpoises! I cannot say enough about how special this home is. It is clearly well-loved and well taken care of. Such a beautiful slice of PNW history. Visit if you can!
We had 4 generations during our stay. There was something for everyone to love. Well stocked kitchen, clean and comfortable beds. Character and quirk of a home with history. The best part for most of us what the view. What an amazing view of the Puget Sound! We could have sat for hours if yhe kids had let us! The beach kept them occupied during low tide finding oretty shells and rocks. During high tide they loved seeing the sea lions and dolphins( i think they were actually harbour porpiose) but such a fun and comfortable experience. The island itself is quiet and relaxing while still being a comfortabke commute to all the things we wanted to do! A million thanks to Jane for opening her home for us! Notes for renters: there was a pack and play while we were there if you had younger kids. There are lots of stairs (as mentioned in the listing) but if decently mobile you shouldnt have an issue! My 87 year old grandma was able to navigate very easily most of the time.
Days Island, easily reachable, is a quiet community close to Tacoma. The house is inviting from the street, and has convenient parking, several outdoor places to hang out in decent weather, and the view from indoors or out is breathtaking. We two couples (sisters and husbands) had great fun sipping adult beverages and watching boats, barges, birds slide by, seals pop their heads up and cormorants dive.
The large backyard leads to the water, and is a fine spot for outdoor games or watching sunsets.
There is a well-equipped kitchen, a gas barbeque grill, scads of games and lots of ideas for local activities.
The beds are quite comfortable and there's a ton of bedding and towels and such provided.
The biggest attraction is the knock-your-eyes out view.
The other big attraction is your host, Jane. She is readily accessible by text, helpful, friendly.
The house is old and quirky, with some hard miles on it. So if you are after a 5-star hotel, this ain't it.
The bedrooms are on the third floor, one up from the street level: a king room with the best view, a queen room, a dinky single and a shared bath.
At entry level are the kitchen, an adjacent bathroom/laundry (which, amusingly, also holds the dishwasher), a large dining room, breakfast room, large living room and an office. On the lowest floor is a huge family-type room with queen bed and bath.
Shopping, restaurants and attractions are close at hand.
Recommended.
