Stay Here!
If you want to get away and stay right on the beach then this place is a must. Most week kept and clean place we have ever stayed. Attention to detail is awesome even for an incredibly OCD guy like me. The neighbor cat... Oreo... was an added benefit.
Parking v easy enough for 2 cars easy to find nice neighbourhood and great location. Right on the beach..tho we didn't get sunny weather still a terrific place to stay bbq worked well and everything u need in a home away from home.
We were in Virginia Beach for a brief business trip, and this was the perfect place to retreat for some relaxation with our family. Definitely on my list of places that we would return to.
Best vacation rental I have ever stayed! The location was incredible! The home was cozy! It was so nice to walk out on the beach every night for a walk. The owner provided beach toys for the kids to play with! The kitchen and home had everything we needed to cook a great meal. We actually never ate out!Beds were so comfy! Can’t say enough about how great our stay was!!

Cottage
Beautiful home, well kept. Great location. Will definitely be back.
The sweetest lil cottage right on the water.
Clean, charming and very cozy. We loved the quiet neighborhood. We could kick back and relax in Zoes cottage. Felt safe and right at home!
Zoe’s Cottage is charming and quaint! Has everything you need! Feels like you are staying with family as they entrust you with personal books and history pertaining to the cottage. It is a little bit of Heaven on Earth!
Very calming colors, comfortable rooms. Wonderful back porch facing the beach. Beautiful views. It’s a place where I could stay for a very long time. Close to everything but completely private. Thanks for the details that made this
Excellent hosts, quiet area perfect for our small family. High chair, pack n play and plenty of beach toys allowed us to travel lighter than usual for our toddler!
The house was very clean and had very new appliances and huge washer and dryer.
I highly recommend for parents of young children who need to break up beach time between naps and meals. It’s easy to do a short beach time since it’s just a walk across the back yard!
Modern Conveniences with Fabulous History! Private & Quiet!
What a SPECIAL Place! So much attention has been paid to detail! The owner was wonderful to work with, the cottage was super clean and cozy. I spent lots of time "on the bench" observing God's beauty that he has so graciously shared with us! The beach was never crowded and walks were met with smiles and good mornings. We'll go back again!!!
Beautiful home with lovely decorations.. So very cute. Got to walk on the beach every day. GREAT location.. Only negative was Murphy bed in second bedroom was very uncomfortable... I spent the week on the coach. But besides that really loved our stay.
This is exactly what we wanted for the Fourth—easy beach access right out back, great view of the surrounding beaches (aka view of fireworks all around), comfortable beds, cute house, and chill hosts. As a book lover, I also thought their collection was impressive and interesting! There’s a shower on the lower level, which we used after coming in from the beach, and one with a tub on the upper level (where the two bedrooms are). There is also a high chair, bib, two baby gates, filters for coffee, olive oil, salt, pots, pans, cutlery, etc. Very easy trip with lots of fun things to do! We took a tour of the navy base, went into Norfolk to see the Nauticus, and had some GREAT bbq at Redwood Smoke Shack (order in advance—they sell out quickly!). I also hear there’s a great farmers market on Saturdays (with amazing donuts), but left before we had a chance to try them.

Always enjoy our stay at Zoe's Cottage
Early fall at Zoe's Cottage is especially nice. The days are warm, and nights are pleasantly cool. After four stays, the cottage is like a home away from home. Comfortable furniture and tasteful decorations highlighted by the owners artwork create a pleasant and peaceful atmosphere. It's a great time of year to walk on the beach or sit on the bench on the dune. This year it was a little rainy so we spent some time at a local antique store. The sun came out just enough to attend a Tides baseball game, and check out the annual Neptune festival and sand sculpture competition. We highly recommend booking a stay at Zoe's Cottage.
We had an awesome week at Zoe's Cottage. There are a few things we look for in a vacation rental, and this one has it all! A great location - sometimes we were the only people on the beach, comfy beds, good showers, a kitchen we can actually cook in, and a covered outdoor space to hang out or eat. And, as a bonus, the cottage is super cute - with lots of art and beachy decor. Walking into the front gate felt magical. The area has lots of things to do, too. The zoo, the botanical gardens, Busch Gardens, restaurants, and more! Great week at the beach!
The house exceeded our expectations, beautifully decorated and came equipped with everything my 2 sisters and I needed for a lovely weekend together by the beach. The beach is right out the back gate and was quiet, peaceful and beautiful. Marida was a wonderful host, communicated well with restaurant ideas and ensuring check in went smoothly and giving us heads up about the neighborhood cat that did in fact spend the weekend on the back porch. We will be back!

Just Wonderful
My family stayed for the 2nd time at Zoe's Cottage and it was just as we remembered! Three years later, the home was still perfectly clean upon arrival, had all of the beach essentials in the shed outside, had the essentials for cooking in the kitchen, and had the same peaceful, relaxing feel that we needed for our week away. We ventured out to the Virginia Living Museum (definitely a favorite for our 2 kiddos) and the Virginia Aquarium (very, very crowded but nice - glad we saw it but probably won't revisit just due to the busy-ness). We mostly cooked at the house but did check out the Ocean View Fishing Pier restaurant which was good and had live music playing that evening. We saw dolphins on several occasions and caught and released mole crabs and ghost crabs. The bay is calm enough that our littlest doesn't get knocked over by the waves, but still fun for our oldest to swim and boogie board. We had a nice stretch of beach all to ourselves. The porch and the bench atop the dune are favorites for me. This is the perfect place to get away, relax, enjoy family time, and forget the worries of the world for a while. If you're looking for a place that is private, peaceful, and relaxing - this is it!
My bestie and I had a quick 2 day trip for a wedding, we both just loved this cute cottage right away. Being able to walk right out to the beach was the best part of our initial walk thru. Both bedrooms are upstairs so just be ready and able to go up some tight steep steps, still a very cute place! Would book again 🙂
p.s. Oreo is a bug a boo, lucky he's cute and sweet

Return to Zoe's Cottage
We were fortunate to be able to return for a second stay at Zoe's Cottage. The cottage is a hidden gem at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. When you walk through the front gate you instantly feel relaxed, surrounded by trees and other plants. It only gets better when you take the new path to the back yard and walk a few steps to the dune above the beach. Everything you need to enjoy your stay is inside the house and on the property. The beach is practically in your back yard but there are also lots of interesting places to visit within a short drive. Whether you like the botanical gardens, aquarium, minor league baseball, or historic landmarks there are many choices for day trips. When you want to spend the day on the beach then go out for dinner there are a variety of great restaurants nearby. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable and charming spot at the beach we highly recommend Zoe's Cottage.
This is our first visit to the area and we were not sure what to expect. It was right up our alley, wonderful home and well kept. Obviously not a commercial property, this is someone's home. Every thing you could want was available at the home. The location to the beach was awesome and the bench on the dune was my favorite spot, I spent several hours there throughout my vacation. My wife's was the daybed on the porch. Not a tourist area, definitely residential. If peace and quiet is what you are looking for, this is the place for you.
