Elegant Bayside Classic 300 metres to the beach

Light-filled, 3 Bedroom Californian Bungalow with all the creature comforts for that perfect Australian holiday by the beach. Centrally located in the heart of Capel Sound only 5 min walk from the Beach, local shops, restaurants, cafes and bus stop.

Please be aware that the Mornington shire has strict guidelines that effect holiday rentals. These include restricting who can stay & the behaviour & activities of guests while occupying holiday rentals. We reserve the right to cancel any bookings that we feel don't comply.

The Space:

Built in 1922-23 and relocated from Strathmore, this classic Australian weatherboard home with front veranda and stain-glass windows and doors is sure to delight with its well-balanced coupling of quality modern renovations, beautiful antique furniture, and cottage-garden landscaping. Only 350 meters to Capel Sound foreshore, Bay Trail and bayside shopping strip with cafes, restaurants, and retail, this beautiful home offers all the creature comforts for a great seaside escape.

The entrance opens to a wide hallway adorned with chandelier and original leadlight on all the internal doors. To the right is the Master bedroom with queen bed, wall-mounted TV, black out blinds, and chaise lounge nestled beneath the wide bay window.

Across the hall is bedroom three with Queen bed, Single bed and Trundle, and black out blinds. Ceiling fans throughout the house, including the bedrooms, and heavy window coverings ensure this house stays cool and airy.

Next down the hallway is bedroom two with Queen bed, black out blinds and Victorian red-silk arm-chair perfect for a quiet little retreat with cup of tea and a book.

The stylishly renovated bathroom has a stone and timber palette, luxurious claw foot bath, spacious shower, toilet and handbasin. The laundry with outdoor access is next to the main bathroom and has another toilet and Bosch washing machine. The end of the hall reaches a light-drenched living space with comfy couches next to the gas-log fire and large flat-screen TV.

Beyond the lounge area are two leather arm chairs that look out over the back yard and catch the morning light through stained glass windows. The dining table seats 8 next to floor-to-ceiling panel sliding doors accessing the sheltered deck with outdoor seating, chiminea fire pit, BBQ and the charming garden beyond.

Also within the open-plan living space is, of course, the kitchen - the heart of the house - with everything one could need to create delicious meals while entertaining: double-door Westinghouse fridge, induction cooktop, microwave, oven, Espressotoria coffee-pod machine, toaster, kettle, and pantry basics. Nice extras include new carpeting in all the bedrooms, ceiling fans throughout, stylish pale timber flooring and quality furniture.

Also, good to know: The closest shopping complex is only 5 minute drive, with a large Woolworths, Coles, Post office, Bakers Delight, pharmacy, butcher and other well-known shops.

No Schoolies or Party style bookings. If you book and disregard the above then we reserve the right to cancel the booking, or ask you to vacate the premises immediately, with full loss of your payment.

Pretty house - very grotty, hairy soap in bathroom
Were really please initially with the house and location but found the bathroom not cleaned... smeared mirror, grubby showerscreen, gross used soap with hair, dirty toilet, razor stubble on the soap recess.... scum on the bath. It was very disappointing and very unhygenic. Then looking at the property a little closer.... the leftover food in the fridge, the sticky kitchen drawers, kitchen bench with dried food blobs, and the windows with many marks. (flies and cobwebs are part of holiday home... can cope with them.) Asked for cleaners, someone did clean the bbq and replaced empty gas bottle. We offered an extra hour check out due to grottiness. I would expect professional cleaners after each stay. Looked like teenagers had made the beds. Nice house with big couch and living space and tourists will always come.

Beautiful house in perfect location
Gorgeous house with lovely tranquil deck area out the back. Beautifully renovated. Walking distance to everything. Loved it!! Will be returning.
