About this property

Rustic Elegance Log Home

Our rustic (but elegant) multi-level, post & beam log home was built with trees harvested from the property. The home was custom-designed and built by hand.
There are two spiral staircases, please refer to photos. Privately located on four acres, the home sits on a knoll overlooking wide-open views of the forest and nature! The home was built for a couple, but it will comfortably sleep a party of four (with several sleeping options). Under some circumstances, we can accommodate a party of six in the house (you must inquire first). If you have a larger party we have a guest house on the property so please inquire about availability. The guest house may be rented separately to another couple; however, the guest house has its own private entrance and separate parking.

We have a large front lawn perfect for outdoor entertainment and it makes a terrific sledding hill. We have open and covered decks - perfect for lounging.

We offer wireless broadband, high-speed internet & Spectrum cable w/ HBO. If you'd like to stream using Roku, Fire Stick, etc., please bring your own device. We have a dedicated HDMI cable ready for your use.

In the wintertime, we recommend 4-wheel drive and/or snow tires. Rear-wheel drive is NOT recommended.

3rd Level: Open Loft with queen bed and half bath
Note: The house is limited to a maximum of 4 guests at a time. The extra Bed/bedrooms are for added space and privacy, as needed.

Our locale is a perfect jump-off spot for all the activities the White Mountains have to offer. In the summer enjoy several public golf courses, horseback riding, canoeing, fishing, boating, world-class hiking, & biking. Three ski resorts to choose from (Cannon Mt, Bretton Woods, or Loon Mt.), snowshoe, ice fish & ice skate. Enjoy tax-free shopping in downtown Littleton year-round.

We are about a 5-minute drive to a full array of shops, restaurants, grocery stores, gas, and pharmacies. Enjoy tax-free shopping in downtown Littleton. Great dining options are available in Littleton and surrounding villages. We will provide you with a list of recommendations.

The spectacular White Mountains are an ideal location for your next vacation. In the summer enjoy several public golf courses, canoeing, fishing, boating, world-class hiking, & biking. Fall brings glorious colors - trees burst into reds, purples, and varying shades of yellow. Many fall festivals (i.e. Jackson and Littleton) in the area and fresh apple-picking opportunities! In the winter choose from several ski resorts the closest being Cannon Mt., Bretton Woods, or Loon Mt.; snowshoe, ice fish, or ice skate.

Loved the common area on second level. Downstairs bedrooms seemed a bit musty. Spiral staircases tough for luggage to the loft. Outdoor space not as welcoming as expected...fire pit had no chairs around it.chairs were available but seemed a bit dirty. Door to small porch off sunroom was unlocked.

Great location and sunset views!

Very nice property, in wooded area with great views yet still close to the highway. Ideal location close to the mountains, shopping and restaurants. Beds were comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay.

Winter relaxation

We stayed at this location for the thanksgiving weekend and it was great. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare and enjoy a Holiday meal and then in the comfortable surroundings. Easy to get to and close to so many things we’d come back again.

Weekend Getaway

My sister and I had a wonderful visit in the Littleton area. Great hiking and restaurants. The stay at Susan's home was the perfect location for all of our needs. She provides loads of maps and suggestions. Absolutely loved the place!

Girl’s weekend

We had a lovely weekend stay at this Littleton property… it was clean & warm - (despite a deep freeze- 22 below zero!) the kitchen had a nice array of glassware & cooking gadgets - the rooms are just as described in the listing - plenty of towels provided …games & reading material were plentiful…would love to return again

I pay to have a good night stay. I didn’t find it here. Time to renovate the upstairs bedroom. The bedding and mattress were very uncomfortable. The bedding smelled musty like they had not been washed forever.

A comfortable and private place for a get-away!

We have stayed twice in this lovely home and look forward to going back. It's close to 93 (so, perfect for a quick day hike somewhere) and the adorable town of Littleton (we recommend the appetizer plate at Schilling). The owners are very responsive and helpful. I have two recommendations: 1) that they put more floor lamps in the living space (especially in the sunroom) for those of us who like to read and need lots of light; and 2) that they put a table on the deck near the grill for eating outside when the weather is nice. Otherwise, this home is perfect!

A lovely secluded, serene, light-filled hilltop retreat.

We spent one month in the Rustic Elegance Log Home and were sad to leave. We were pleased to find it to be as nice as the photos. It was immaculate when we arrived & well stocked as other reviewers have mentioned. It is minutes from Shaws & Wal-Mart and the charming town of Littleton however you would never know this while enjoying the views from the house. The oversized arm chair in the sunroom was my husband's choice for morning coffee but I preferred the bar stools at the kitchen island because of the broader mountain view.This area has 4 season outdoor activities as well as good restaurants, local breweries and unique retail shops. There is something for everyone! The design and decor of the house make you feel comfortable right away and you will never want to leave.

A wonderful get-away

We wanted a get-away weekend for Thanksgiving with a lot of peace and quiet to just relax and de-stress. This place was perfect! From start to finish. The homeowners were very communicative and also had some great suggestions of things to do and places to go. They know the area around Littleton and gave great suggestions. The hose is extremely comfortable, with everything we could have wanted and more. The kitchen had any appliance and gadget we could have needed, there are books (huge selection!), puzzles, & games, and a beautiful deck or sunroom to sit in and just relax. We spent a lot of time in the sunroom watching the snow fall and loving every minute. The location is great as well - only minutes to the major highway and town of Littleton but far enough away as to have no one around and an unobstructed view of the mountains. The directions to get to the house were very easy to follow and the road (& thanks to a wonderful man named Steve, the driveway too!) was plowed after the snow, so we had no trouble getting in and out. This seems like a great place for any season and we would love to come back in the summer, but I highly recommend this as a winter getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here.

Littleton New Hampshire for New Year's Eve

The house was roomy. The beds were comfortable. I appreciated that the kitchen had nice appliances/amenities. The living room couches were enormous and basically offered the option for 4 people to lie back. The spiral staircase is not for everyone. If you're elderly and/or have small children travelling with you, I'd think twice about having to navigate those stairs.

Great Visit to Littleton

Although we had some rainy days it did not affect our board games or puzzles... We had a great snowshoe before the rains came and downtown Littleton is always a joy to visit.

Well equipped house close to a charming town

We stayed in the house for 6 nights in October. There were many things to like. The place was fairly clean, it had a large washer and dryer, the master bed was comfortable, the house was very well equipped for cooking and relaxing. There are multiple large couches, the kitchen is large, a TV is provided, it is quiet at night, parking area is large. There is no trash pickup in this town, so guests are asked to take their trash and recyclables to a station that is open from noon to 4 on most days. Spiral staircases join the 3 levels, which could make it a bit harder to move a suitcase to the upper levels. We stayed in the lower level, so it was not a problem for us. The bathrooms have counter space and shelf space for toiletries. The property manager was very responsive and communicated clearly. Overall, we were pleased, and would consider staying here again if in the area.

Not so private

Overall a nice house in a nice location. What they don't tell you though, is that the upper level of the barn attached to the back corner of the house is another rental property with a deck that overlooks the kitchen and living room you're in. No curtains so less than private. Also, and this was a first for me in a vacation rental, we were instructed to bag our trash and recycleables and bring them to the town transfer station. The transfer station doesn't open untill noon and we had to be out of the house by 11:00.

This home is absolutely beautiful! Exactly as listed and pictured. Comfy beds, couches and plenty of space. We had everything we needed to cook great meals. Plenty of towels and basic needs supplies. Downtown Littleton has grown so much since the last time we were here and was a 5 minute drive from the house. Hands down the best rental property I’ve had the privilege of staying at. We will be back!

Nice property but needs a deep clean

Beautiful house. The guest house thing was a bit worrisome but we never saw the guest staying in it once and didn’t have an issue. It doesn’t seem like the house is fully cleaned when someone is coming to clean it. A lot of webs, water spots, almost like they clean what is visibly dirty and leave the rest untouched. House has great views and a nice deck but the deck was snow covered. Wished the house was cleaner.

Absolutely what you expect !

The property was wonderful. House was perfect for relaxing. Plenty of comfortable chairs and blankets to sit after skiing. Very clean and set up extremely well. We will be back again for sure!

Exquisite Littleton Chalet

My husband and I have been renting vacation homes through VRBO for many, many years. This is one of the best of the best! Clean, comfortable, beautifully appointed, with a wonderful host. Just perfect!! A five minute ride to the sweet, friendly town of Littleton, a 20 minride to Cannon mountain, and with hiking trails nearby, the location is perfect also! We had a great stay!!
