Scott’s place was perfect for our stay. The space was nice and clean, stocked well, and he prepared a neighborhood guide that was a huge help in deciding what to do and where to find great food. The neighborhood was quiet, patio area was relaxing and comfortable, and there were plenty of coffee shops to walk to each morning. Scott was respectful of our space, and happy to engage with us when we wanted to chat. We highly recommend the Eco House. We’d definitely stay here again.

It was a pleasure to host you and your friends, Brian, and I hope to host you all again!
I rented the patio villa option for a girls weekend with a friend in Portland, and we had a great time staying here! The Villa option gave each of us a separate space to rest and sleep, and also a shared patio space for chatting in the evening and having coffee and making plans for the day. Highlights, in order, would be:
1. The host - Scott was a warm and welcoming host, helpful and kind. He gave me lots of great local suggestions for food and shops and sights, and he also showed me how I could walk to 3 fun neighborhoods right from the front steps (Alberta Arts, Williams, and Piedmont).
2. The location - convenient to get downtown in about 10 minutes/$12 via Uber, but mostly we walked to so many awesome restaurants and boutiques and bars! I was alone for the last 2 days after my friend went home, and I felt very safe on my own.
3. The decor - The inside of the spaces are clean and the decor is fun and bright. It reminds me of a tiny house concept with the way Scott has used all of the spaces.
4. The beds - The beds are both very comfortable, and although it was an unusually hot weekend, both units are air-conditioned for cozy sleeping. It is a quiet neighborhood, too.
5. The patio area - Scott has patio furniture and cafe tables, with lights and lovely stonework.
This place is a special spot to stay!

Perfect accommodation in Portland
We were a group of four and stayed for two nights during a heatwave in Portland. Both the suite and the cottage were comfortable and had air conditioning, which during our visit was a luxury! Scott was having construction done on the patio so he welcomed us to use his patio. Scott was very friendly and knowledgeable, offered great tips and recommendations and was present to help without ever overstepping or being obtrusive. I highly recommend these accommodations; the suite and cottage are very cool, very nice and in a brilliant neighborhood. Thanks Scott!

Clean and well lit rooms with a nice kitchen, private bathrooms and a wonderful outdoor patio.
We had a great time at Scott's house. We rented two rooms each with its own bathrooms and a small but functional kitchen with a refrigerator to store snacks and breakfast. Both the rooms are separated from the main house for privacy and open to a private
courtyard to enjoy the outdoors. It is located in a wonderful neighborhood and an easy stroll to the Alberta arts district which
is trendy, vibrant with great boutiques, galleries and wonderful restaurants and cafes. The area is charming with beautiful homes and flower gardens. I highly recommend this area if you are looking for a more local and creative vibe in Portland.

A wonderful place to stay in Portland!
Scott met us when we arrived and helped us get checked in and showed us around the house and to our room. The house was easy to find and the room was clean and private despite being in a house! The coffee/tea bar in the kitchen was a great touch, and we took advantage of it! Scott was very friendly and gave lots of great recommendations of places to check out while visiting. I would highly recommend staying here if you are coming to the Portland area!

About the host
Hosted by Scott
I’m an easy-going guy with some world travel under my belt who very much enjoys hosting guests arriving from all over the country and globe to explore magical Portland and its environs.
Having lived in Portland for a long time, I know the city and region well. While giving you all the space you need, I am friendly and welcoming and, if you ask, I am always happy to provide tips on whatever local sights or activities you may be in the mood for, or to help you figure out logistics. So please feel free to ask if you see me around doing maintenance or yardwork, or text or call me.
If you are vegetarian, vegan, or just curious about or enjoy plant-based cuisine, I have been vegan for decades, and being tuned into the plethora of plant-based shops, restaurants, bars, and food carts in town, I will be glad to point you towards where you can grab the kind of plant-based grub you might be craving.
