Kowharewa Beachfront Beauty

Walk off the grass onto the beach at this modern 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom holiday home. Each living space and bedroom has expansive views of the bay and harbour entrance.
The open plan living, dining and kitchen are situated in the centre of the house and open to decking at either side. Take in the wonderful views on the front deck, or set up a BBQ out the back.
A queen bedroom, bunk room with 2 single bunk sets and bathroom are located at one end, while the other end houses another queen bedroom, bathroom and separate living space with a convertible couch.
A great place to kick back, relax and switch off. Or you can wander the beach, snorkel around the rocks or kayak around the bay.

Under Kiwi bach tradition the traveller provides their own linens ( Top Sheets required ) and the property should be left clean and tidy with all rubbish removed. However linen is available on request, at $25 per person.

Best beach house I have been to

This place is amazing and the owners are great hosts. We had our boat anchored in front, and was so easy to get kids on the boat. Plenty of water toys and even has a range of new life jackets.

One of the best places we have stayed. Great location, right on the beach and not too far from Whangārei. The house was awesome with great views of the water. The house had everything we needed for our short stay. We will definitely book again in the future.

We had a lovely stay, the property was perfect for a weekend away with friends. Such great amenities, awesome view and very cool house layout. We will be keen to book again some time! Handy to tutukaka general store down the road which is also very well stocked. Beachfront view was just amazing.

Great Location, Beautiful Views

Our group came up to dive at the Poor Knights and this was in the perfect location. The house worked great for our group. The bay is stunning and the pictures don't do it justice. We enjoyed using the kayaks to kayak on the still water in the evening. Would definitely recommend for a group or family.

Overall a great stay. Location was perfect right on the beach. House was spacious with great light and set up well. Furnishings, including beds could do with an up spec befitting the location. Would recommend bringing your own linen and pillows. This was the only let down in an otherwise perfect stay.

Beautiful spot at a very comfortable airy, well ventilated bach. So close to a wonderful beach. Beds comfy, amazing deck, fabulous kayaks, great BBQ. Initial difficulty getting lock code but once in, couldn't have been happier. Would love to come back. Thank you.

Kowharewa Bay - Tutukaka

This brilliant location brought back many memories of a younger me kicking around the magnificent location that is Tutukaka harbour and surrounds; I walked up to the Tutukaka lighthouse for the first time in over 50 years and enjoyed the vistas of the Tutukaka coast; from the Poor Nights to the Hen & Chickens. Unfortunately the weather was not that great (stormy week of January 2023!!) but the final day was sunny and hot. Thankyou very much for sharing this great location and I would be delighted to be a repeat customer if and when time allows

Family break with elderly parents

Our second stay - of many we hope! Thoroughly enjoyed by all - our children and our very elderly parents (93 and 89yr old). The bach, being one level, with two bathrooms and easy access, was perfect. They were able to watch us swim, kayak, paddleboard and have fun! Cards, board games, books all used and read. Lovely to be able to open the doors, and windows fully to enjoy the sun, breeze and hear the sea and birds. And when the weather got a little rough, we felt warm and snug inside.Even got a few fejoas off the tree! Thank you so much for letting us have the use of your family bach.

Tutukaka beach house paradise

4 nights was not long enough! Relaxed stay in well appointed beach house in secluded picturesque cove, Peaceful place. We would love to return for a longer visit. Perfect for an adult family or 2 families with smaller children sharing. Location was easy to find and close to Marina restaurants and shops. Beach wasn’t the best but still beautiful and water calm and crystal clear and perfect for small children swimming. Linen and bunk beds could be upgraded to suit quality of property and a dryer would have been useful but overall this was a quality Bach, highly recommended. Communication with owner was easy via email. No wifi at property. Good selection of board games, books, music, water sports equipment. Excellent Kitchen stocked with essentials such as cooking oil, seasonings, tea, coffee. Loved this place!

Family friendly on the water

With elderly parents and young adults we all enjoyed being able to get out together down to the beach for swims and walks. Having bedrooms at each end of the house also catered well for our large group.

What a great place. Right on the water in a beautiful little Bay. Great location close to all the spots. The house is perfect for 2 couples or family. With 2 queen rooms at either end with their own bathrooms and a bunk room. Great design with big wide doors/windows throughout. Loved our stay and will be back
