Akers Ellis was great to work with and the property was fantastic — kitchen well stocked with pots, pans, and dishes, decor lovely, beds comfortable. Very quiet; great wildlife from the deck. Wonderful feng shui! We all want to stay here again.
Beautiful area, townhome was nice, location great as able to walk to beach quickly & easily. Need to either rent chairs or bring your own as not provided with this home. Bikes also not provided but can rent each day. There are minimal restaurants nearby so unless staying in a golf resort prepare to eat in or use same restaurant. Kiawah is a beautiful area.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments! We are happy to see that you enjoyed the property for your stay. Beach gear and items are not standard things that are kept at each of the homes that we manage. It is for this reason that we do offer a $250 breach gear credit through our partners at VayKGear to ensure that you have all of the items you may need for your stay.
We have been traveling to Kiawah for thirty years and must say this unit in Windswept was one of the best. It is very nicely decorated and expansive enough for all of us to have a degree of privacy when needed. A very large deck overlookingNight Heron lake provided us with endless enjoyment watching the alligators swim by.
Villa was lovely with beautiful lagoon views. Unit was pretty clean and very updated. We really enjoyed our stay.
Akers gave us credit towards bikes etc which was nice though bikes and beach chairs were pretty old and worn out. All in all great vacation package,
Loved the place and layout. Nice deck. Close to beach

Reviewer Comments:
We stayed in this villa for 13 nights. It's in an ideal location on a quiet lagoon just 100 yards from the boardwalk to the beach. This unit appeared to be freshly painted and decorated. Unfortunately, it wasn't very clean. The sofa cushions were in dire need of steam cleaning. A toy from a previous guest was in plain sight under a chair. When we dropped something under the sofa we were haunted by the filth. Some of the pots and pans were scratched and had burned on residue. Overall, we loved our stay. Kiawah is a favorite place for us. I think we would enjoy staying in this unit again. Hopefully it would be properly cleaned before our arrival.

We are sorry to hear of any issues experienced with cleanliness. From our records, I do not need that there was any correspondence after the 5 star arrival rating was submitted. We are always more than happy to address any issues as soon as we are made aware of them, especially for things that may have been initially missed by our team. I have passed your comments to our property management team and housekeeping partners to ensure that these things are taken care of and not missed for future renters. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay and time on the island regardless!

We enjoyed our stay while a renovation was going on in our Kiawah property. 4375 was clean and well appointed. It is convenient to trails, beach and town market. The beds and bedding were comfortable, towels plentiful. It’s a peaceful location with wonderful outdoor space and lovely lagoon view. We enjoyed our stay so much, we’ve already reserved it for family when they visit in October for a family retirement!

Reviewer Comments:
This property is very well situated on the island and close to the beach. The property is clean but just adequate. It lacks TLC. Clearly this is an investment property. We were a party of six as you might expect with 3 bedrooms ; 3 bathrooms. There were only 5 dining room chairs. Linens were sparse as were toilet supplies; i swept the deck upon arrival and washed the chairs. There was water damage in the master bathroom and a hole in the ceiling fan area of the downstairs bathroom. Despite all of this, we had a great time. The location cant be beat and the shared living space was good. Ackers Rental staff were VERY responsive. Kudos to them. I do wonder though if this is the type of property they want in their inventory. Is it reflective of other properties?

Thank you for your feedback. Please again accept our apologies for any issues experienced during your stay. As you said, I see from our records that our team was very responsive and addressed each item brought to our attention. I have passed your comments to our property manager to consider when reviewing the unit with our team and owners.
This property was a clean, spacious 3 br 4 ba villa one block from beach near to the sanctuary hotel and tennis center. The deck was a real asset in the morning overlooking the pond as well as early evening after a long day. The property manager and rental company handled all my concerns promptly. I would recommend this villa!

Reviewer Comments:
Palmetto bug is just a cute term for cockroach, and this place had them. My son woke up to one on his face, a very bad experience to say the least. The roaches came out every night, and they were active/not dying. The exterminator told us the property had not been sprayed on schedule. This SHOULD NOT HAPPEN!! We have been coming to Kiawah for 25 years and are well aware of what is an acceptable level of cockroaches in the house. On top of that the property was not clean, toilets had not been scrubbed, for a long time. I cleaned them. Mold in every bathroom. Garbage under a bed.Akers and Ellis did respond to the roach problem quickly, but it was too late for us, maybe it will help the next renter. They also attempted to move us per my request, but when we went to see that property there were live roaches in the bathrooms. The good thing I can say about the property is the location. Kiawah has become overpriced in my opinion, paying a premium for terrible experience.

Response from VrboOwner on 1 August 2023
We are sorry to hear of your continued disappointment. As stated, we did have a member of our team come spray as soon as we were notified of an issue beyond normal. We offered a move option to a different property, which was declined. Afterward, we had an exterminator (not the one contracted for this property) come to ensure you had the most comfortable stay possible. We do apologies for the issues you experienced. However, being a barrier island in the middle of summer, Palmetto Bugs (which are native to the area) are quite common. While you do make every effort to ensure they remain outside, they do make every attempt and sometimes success in making their way in doors. I am pleased to advise that no issues have been reported since your stay.

Reviewer Comments:
This is our 8th time on Kiawah, 6th in Windswept condos. This is the most convenient location we have experienced with a fantastic view of the lagoon and wildlife. We saw 3 alligators, 2 anhingas, great egrets, blue heron, and osprey close to our condo. This set of Windswept buildings has the largest end-unit wrap-around decks, unlike the others which have 2 small decks. The washer and dryer are full sized and work fine. Beds were comfortable. Lots of towels and paper products provided. It is literally a 2 minute walk to boardwalk 22. The kitchen is adequately equipped, though we didn’t really cook, and got carry out for all dinners. Got groceries at Freshfields for breakfasts and lunches. Recommend Cantina 76 (at Freshfields)for tacos, Cherrywood BBQ, and Tomassu for Italian (both owned by resort). East Beach Town Market has decent low priced options too. The condo has been nicely updated, was fresh and clean when we arrived, and Akers-Ellis was very responsive to our needs during our stay. The family room furniture was comfortable. The only issue with the condo was that the main floor bathroom shower door hinge was broken (though the shower was still usable) and never was fixed during our stay despite a note indicating it would be. We did not use the equipment rental since we always use the Kiawah resort umbrella service (highly recommend since they are spaced away from the more crowded blue umbrella area and you get a towel with each chair) and rent bikes elsewhere and are happy with our experience. Highly recommended condo!

We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay! Please accept our apologies for any miscommunication regarding the shower door. The issue requires the door in its entirety to be replaced, and we are currently awaiting word from the company to schedule the install. We hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back for your next trip to Kiawah!
