The mountains of Montana offer beauty and tranquility that need to be experienced to be believed. Majestic surroundings - including the waters of Lake Whitefish and incredible slopes for skiing - deserve an equally majestic home, and that's exactly what you and your group will get with this spacious, upscale lodge! From nearby slope access to luxurious amenities like a private hot tub, your mountain getaway is looking better than ever!
Nestled just below Whitefish Resort's 'Big Mountain,' this lodge for 12 has road access to the resort itself. The dining and shopping of downtown Whitefish are just seven miles away, but with a hot tub on the deck providing a view of Whitefish Lake, staying at home can be tempting, too!
You'll be absolutely floored by this home's rustic, down-home atmosphere, complete with log-cabin-inspired walls, dark brown colors on the upscale furnishings, and touches like an antler chandelier in the dining room. Despite this folksy aesthetic, the rich leather in the furnishings, along with the spacious design and replete amenities, give the home a sense of high-end comfort you're sure to appreciate after a long day on the slopes.
Step inside from the deck and relax in the great room, with overstuffed leather sofas and chairs and a crackling stonework fireplace to warm you up. This home provides a good chance to unplug and spend time with the people that matter most, but that hardly means you'll be going without entertainment - another living room offers more comfortable seating along with a flatscreen cable TV, and there is WiFi available.
Cooking for a dozen people is no mean feat, but the fully equipped kitchen makes it easier than ever! Stainless steel appliances, plenty of cookware, and ample space on the granite countertops provide a great space for cooking, with a grill on the deck giving even more options. Take a seat at the nearby table for ten and chow down.
Twelve guests will have no trouble getting nice and comfortable, with five bedrooms, one loft, and three-and-a-half bathrooms spread throughout the house. Two of the bedrooms boast luxurious king-size beds, with one even boasting a nearby bath with a shower and heart-shaped tub. Two more bedrooms have generous queen beds, with the final room offering an elegant wood-framed twin bunk bed for kids. The loft's sleeper sofa rounds out your options. Freshen up in one of the bathrooms, pick up clean clothes from your private washer and dryer, and get ready for adventure!
In addition to nearby skiing, your home is just 33 miles away from family-friendly hiking and camping at Glacier National Park! Even closer is the quaint town of Whitefish, where you can treat everyone to a night out of shopping and dining. Summertime visitors, in particular, won't want to miss the town's proximity to the nearby lake, where they can enjoy swimming in its waters and relax on its sandy shores.

Friends and family of all ages. Really appreciated that local property manager was able to respond immediately to issue with hit tub and we were able to use it. Very close to resort, car required to get to resort.
House was perfect for our family vacation. The view is spectacular of Whitefish Lake. Kitchen is well equipped to cook any meal. Plenty of room for our family to relax after a day of exploring Glacier and Whitefish.
Great house, Great location, AMAZING view from back of house! The only negative is the master bedroom mattress was like sleeping on a piece of 3/4” plywood, very hard! My wife and I slept on the couches at night.

Big Mountain House
Great house, location and view. Plenty of room. Very close to the mountain .
Very nice place with great views. Easy check in/check out. Spacious enough for 6 people, and kitchen has everything you need to cook in as well. 10-15min drive to downtown whitefish. Beautiful house!
Thank you for sharing your vacation home with us! The location was perfect with stunning views of the lake, nestled quietly in the trees. The decor was tasteful, inviting, and comfortable. The home was spacious and clean. We loved the hot tub and upper and lower patio decks. Easy access to the city (Whitefish). Highly recommend! 🙂

Family stay for Daughters wedding!
Wow, what a great view and an awesome place! We used all of the place and were plenty busy in the area, so really didn't miss not having TV's in all the rooms. We did use the hot tub and enjoyed it most nights! Got good reports about all beds! Thanks!
This property is exactly as described, but better than the pictures show. It is a huge and set up so you can have some separation of space too. All of us could fit around the kitchen table, which was a huge plus because a lot of other properties don't offer that. Was set up for little kids too (high chair, crib, playroom, etc). The views were amazing! Very close to get to first run...but easy drive to get to main part of ski resort. We will definitely stay here again next year!
I did a surprise 40th for my husband and one of our very close friends. We had some friends join for a fun weekend getaway! Was such a great trip and an amazing house. Super cozy, beds were great. Fit all 10 of us great. It says it sleeps 12 but i dont get how. Id definitely book it again. Only thing was that the dishwasher wasn't working so that would have been nice to know ahead of time.

Thank you for your review, Teanna. We are so happy that you had a good stay with us. We apologize that the dishwasher wasn't functional for your stay. Please know that our team is working to address it as quickly as possible. Thank you for staying with us. Please visit again.
Easy check-in and checkout. Well appointed home good for large families. Excellent and well stocked chef's kitchen and large dining table for family meals. Huge decks with cute of the lake and distant mountains. Beautiful sunrises. Home is about 15 mins from the town of Whitefish. Not easy to find home in the dark first time (Google maps is a bit short of the driveway and house number is up in a tree). It is a bit of a drive up the mountain on paved roads (if that's worries you). We had a lovely stay and would definitely rent again if we came to ski.

The layout of the house was a bit odd. We enjoyed our stay however it would’ve been nice to know that the owners leave their car in the garage and the garage was affectively not usable for the entire trip. The house also needed to be cleaned properly and the dishes done when we arrived which is also a little inconvenient because the last thing you want to do is do dishes when you arrive on your vacation. The house was pleasant the hot tub was great and we enjoyed the trip nonetheless. Montana rocks

Amazing view and location!
This is a large home located close to the ski hill and has a fabulous view of the lake and the valley. It is quiet, private and is surrounded by beautiful forest. The location couldn't be better. The common areas and bedrooms are spacious and comfortable and it was great for our annual family ski weekend with kids and grandkids. Lots of bathrooms too.
Only negatives were that it wasn't very clean and the kitchen garbage had not been emptied (and smelled pretty bad). The dishwasher was not emptied and was packed so tight that we took a third of the dishes out and ran it through the cycle again to get the dishes clean. There were peanuts under the sofa, other things under the stove, miscellaneous playing cards under the kitchen table and the kitchen sink was very greasy (as were most of the pots and pans). The oven smoked from the grease build-up. Two of the toilets plugged during our 3 night stay -- both were cleared with the plunger but it seems maybe this is a common occurrence? The pull-out sofa on the lower level was extremely uncomfortable and we ended up juggling things around so everyone could have a good bed. We ended up with 2 teenagers sharing one bed. Luckily one of our group couldn't come and dropped out at the last minute -- otherwise we would not have had enough beds for all. (There are no condiments, spices, foil or plastic wrap so make sure you bring your own.) It's a bit worn in places but was obviously quite grand when it was built. Other than these small things, it was a great place to stay and we had a wonderful time.

Beautiful Home, Maintenance workers could probably do better
This is a beautiful home. It has plenty of room for our whole family. Most of the lights in the house are dimmable, and there are a bunch of different sets of lights, so it took us a minute to figure out where all the switches are and how to turn them on, but it was kind of cool to be able to dim the lights everywhere. The dishwasher didn't work because we couldn't close the door all the way, then we noticed that there was a note on the door from maintenance that said "Must shut hard" so we tried slamming the door a bunch of times. The whole dishwasher moved, but the door still didn't close. We decided to just give up and let Vacasa know. They said that they would note the dishwasher issue and we just hand washed the dishes the rest of our stay. I changed the maintenance not to say, "Must fix door," but something tells me it won't matter. Also, the jets in the master bathtub didn't work. My husband got himself all excited to use the jetted tub and then the jets wouldn't work. He was sitting in there trying to stay positive, but looking pretty pitiful at the same time. 🤣 All in all, it was a beautiful home. It was as clean as you can expect a log cabin to get. Oh, also, the mattresses were all this stuff memory foam. We had about 6 people in our party complaining about it, but my dad and my brother said it was the best sleep they ever got, so make what you wish out of it. It was a good stay though. A great place to get a large family together. Lastly, an alarm went off saying that there was an intruder on the lower level one night. We checked it out and didn't see anything. 20 minutes later a sheriff showed up to check it out. So I'd say there's definitely security. But then the next day a guy walked around back to service the hot tub and no alarms went off, so we're still trying to figure out what exactly sets the alarm off.

Hi, Keith. Thank you for sharing your experience at our beautiful home. We're glad to hear that there was plenty of space for your whole family and that you enjoyed the option to dim the lights throughout the house. We apologize for the inconvenience regarding the dishwasher not working properly and appreciate you letting us know. Your feedback about the maintenance note has been noted, and we will work on addressing this issue. We're sorry that the jets in the master bathtub didn't work as expected, and we understand how disappointing that must have been. Regarding the memory foam mattresses, we understand that personal preferences can vary, and we appreciate you sharing the feedback from your party. We're glad to hear that overall it was a good stay and that you found the home to be a great place for a large family gathering. We take security seriously, and we apologize for any confusion caused by the alarm going off. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during the visit from the sheriff. We will continue investigating what triggers the alarm to ensure our guests' safety. Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope to welcome you back in the future.

NOT--a LUXURIOUS or adequate ski lodge
We were disappointed with the property management; the resolution of our problem; and the amenties for an up scale home.
I will outline--disappointments in the communication and outcomes of the property.
1. Major issue: At check in, my husband and I chose the lower level king bed with adjacent bathroom. When we went down, my husband noted the toilet did not have H20...and was not functional. We did call that afternoon and were told that the place was inspected by a property manager and all seemed fine. There is NO way a cleaning crew would have not noted this. (cleaning the bathroom--and flushing--they would have noted a problem) In addition to the broken toilet, the faucet was not tight--and mal-aligned. When i called that evening--Casey indicated someone had been thru to check the light bulbs and that all things looked good. I indicated that someone would have to fix the toilet that night, as downstairs, we had 4 already sharing one bathroom (two in bunk; and 2 in queen). He called back and said there was not anyone that could come that evening to fix the problem, and Friday was the only option. This was not acceptable-we planned/ took time off/ reserved a VRBO for two families, early in fall, and that means we expect--all functional items, basic utilities and amenities. It was fixed later Friday evening--with a full replacement of the toilet, and the plumber addressed on his own, the loose faucet.
2. 2nd major issue--the place was not clean. The kitchen counters were not wiped down; the bar area not cleaned off. There was make up; garbage; and H20 bottles found under the crib as well as the bed in the basement queen bedroom. In addition--the bunk room did not have flat sheets--only a fitted sheet which made us wonder if the linens were done? Popcorn was on the floor in hallways.
the final items -are not major issues--but providing feedback:
3. When we arrived--the garage door was open. We did not enter until we confirmed with property manager--this was a mistake. Made us a bit nervous on security.
4. For a property--some basic items I would expect for any rental, let alone luxurious rental--were not there. This includes: 1. Bath mats for basement bathrooms; 2. entry rug--from outdoor (hot tub) back into home (had to use towels); Freshly made beds (bunk bed room did not have flat sheets when we arrived...just fitted sheets. 3. There was a nice coffee maker that utilized pods--however, there were only 5 pods available. W

We are sorry to read about so many disappointments. We will follow-up on this review to ensure everything is made right. Thank you!
Everything was wonderful about our stay! The house was clean and super spacious. We had 4 adults and 2 kids and had plenty of room. It is well stocked with all things you would need. The views are epically beautiful!! It’s super close to the slopes like a 3 minute drive. The WiFi worked great. We had one small issue with the garbage disposal being backed up and they sent someone out immediately. Would highly recommend!!

Great stay
Views were great, house was equipped with everything we needed (except kitchen towels for cleaning,) and lots of room for everyone. The check out was super early and we had a cleaning team waiting outside in the driveway as we were still loading stuff into our truck 15 mins before check out. They were coming in to clean as we were still gathering a few final things. Other than that, great stay.

Superb location but disappointed in non-functioning household items
Although the location of this property was prime we were very disappointed in her three things primarily. Number one, the cleaning was subpar. It appeared to be surface clean but when you got looking closer there were lots of spiderwebs and dust in the corners or areas that were difficult to reach. The oven had a note on it stating it was not in working condition. The gas grill ran out of propane and there was an extra tank in the garage, however it was empty as well! The fireplace did not work. The maintenance man did come out and he confirmed that it was not in working order. This VRBO is listed as a gourmet kitchen but it was definitely not that with non-functioning items. The fireplace was also a huge disappointment especially since it adds to the ambience of being in Montana. The hot tub was a nice amenity and aid maintenance man came out and checked on it twice while we were there which was nice. I was in communication with the Vacasa about all of these items mentioned above and no offer to make adjustments in price was given.

We hpe to have another opportunity to impress you. Tank you for being our guests!
My friends and I had a fantastic stay in this home. The views were undeniably incredible. The home was very clean. The check in process was so easy -- no delays in having to pick up keys or anything like that. The proximity to the mountain was so close! The home itself was tucked away nicely so it never felt like we could hear or see the neighbors. Overall 5/5 and would definitely stay again.

Forever views
The en-suite with views gave my elderly parents the most restful, beautiful vacation! My mother enjoyed the kitchen while my kids and I hit the slopes. Dreamy.
We had a great trip. The property is beautiful and a lovely kitchen. The location is just gorgeous. The internet is intermittent and perhaps needs to be improved.
