Te Waitere Village spectacular water views of harbour and surrounding hillsides.
The Duncan Cabin ís open plan with a cosy fire for winter nights, a large front veranda for alfresco dining, a BBQ, fire pit and outdoor seating with outstanding views of the water. There's a large lawn out back with plenty of room for parking. The outside shower under fairy lights (hot and cold) is a nice way to rinse off after a swim. The Cabin is located in Te Waitere village just 300 meters from the boat ramp, jetty and the Te Waitere Boat Club. The Club is open for meals from 6pm Friday nights (see bar staff to sign in). Please be aware the cabin is relatively remote with the closest store 40 minutes away Oparau Roadhouse for basic groceries, meals and fuel. If you are keen to explore, Kawhia township is 45 minutes away with the Sands Restaurant, a great fish and chip shop and a museum. An hour away is Waitomo Caves, halfway to Waitomo is Marokopa Falls and the Mangapohue Natural Bridge. Only 50 minutes away is Kiritehere Beach where at low tide you can find ancient fossils. Otorohanga has the Kiwi House which is just over an hour away. Raglan is 1.45 hours away with funky shops, the historic Raglan Hotel, a surf beach and Bridal Veil Falls. Hamilton city is 1.5 hours away with the famous Hamilton Gardens and Zoo. Or just stay close to home and enjoy star gazing at night on the front lawn, a harbour walk at low tide to left of the jetty or try your luck catching fish off the jetty. Please note the property is only partially fenced.

Fantastic property, comfortable, well equipped, peaceful, stunning views. It is remote so bring food and drinks for your stay. If lucky enough to be there on a Friday night the dinner at the boat club is a must. Great nearby attractions ie Waitomo glow worm caves, natural bridge and waterfall.
What a wonderfully peaceful place to stay, the quirky furniture and furnishings were delightful, and it was only a couple of hundred metres to wheel our kayaks down to launch at the boat ramp. Thank you so much for having us. We'll definitely be back again to enjoy lovely Te Waitere and kayaking amongst the magnificent limestone formations.
Amazing property in fantastic surrounds. Beautiful crafted, open plan home.Absolutely stunning views in a great small costal village. We had the best Matariki get away. Cheers
From the moment we arrived, we fell in love with this place, such a great feel, amazing view, and cool vibe. We wanted a base to explore Waitomo caves, comfortable and dog friendly, this ticked the boxes. Furnished comfortably, warm and clean. Only needed to bring our food and personal items, linen and towels were privided. If youre looking for a place to relax and step back from the bustle, this place is perfect
A very well-presented house (polished floors, retro-stylish decor, with an emphasis on "shed" implements etc) with a beautiful and ever-changing wide view across an arm of the harbour - offering both location and comfort/style... a great place just to hang out and relax, and watch the kōtare/kingfishers and piwakawaka/fantails. FYI, the two bedrooms are curtained alcoves from the main room, so low on aural privacy. Extremely clean. Absolutely Superb!
