Riley’s retreat was a great place to base ourselves for exploring the Blue Mountains. Close to main attractions and supermarket down the road. Easy check in and out of Riley’s, comfortable and warm cottage.

Comfortable cozy base to adventure from

My partner and I found this cottage to be cozy, well appointed and comfortable. It was a superb base to venture out from to explore various hiking trails in the Blue Mountains and to return to in the evening.

Great location for a Mountains stay

Excellent location with Katoomba Rd shops and restaurants and Echo Point lookouts all in close proximity. Lovely cosy accommodation with open fire and beautiful outdoor deck. Looking forward to returning.

Charming and warm cottage

The cottage was beautifully warm for our arrival on a chilly winter day. The property was clean and comfortable and we look forward to visiting again for a weekend (sans kids!). Love the fireplace in the master bedroom.

Cosy Katoomba Cottage

Cottage cute and cosy. Large bedrooms, amazing shower, luxurious underfloor heating in the bathroom. TV/Netflix/wifi easy to operate. Quiet location and close to the town. Bedlinen was warm and gas heating in open plan living areas kept cottage toasty warm! Checkin was outrageously late - 4pm!! Given check out is 10am - feels like you’ve lost first day on arrival. Normal checkin is 2-3pm maximum. Owner needs to review this as it’s frustrating after a long drive to not be able to access the cottage. The fire in the main bedroom was not cleaned and set…also no poker set, so we didn’t light the fire….as we wouldn’t have been able to poke it and keep fire safe. Gas fire in lounge heated cottage really well, but doesn’t have same ambience as a real fire. Owner may want to reconsider room configuration as main bedroom clearly was original lounge and it overlooks the lovely tree. Cottage has a lovely reading porch area. Cottage would benefit from fly screens being fitted before summer season. Lovely little deck area overlooking large gum trees and escarpment. We’ve stayed in the Blue Mountains every winter for the last 10 years. Riley’s cottage is definitely worth a visit - charming.

Pleasant Stay

The house is very comfortable and area is quiet. We had a very nice stay. The walk to city center is 15-20 min and uphill. No problem but something to be aware of. Great location overall. The neighboring house is right next to this one and there is a separate vacation unit on the property. Neither of these were known when we reserved. No one was in either but it would likely have been less private if they had been.

Wonderful stay. The location was brilliant. The hosts set the gas fire place before we got there so that despite the cold we arrived in, the arrival was super cosy.

Peace and tranquillity

I had a short mountain break with my mother aunty and sister. The place was lovely with charm and country appeal.Beds were exceptionally comfortably. Bathroom was up-to-date. There were instructions for everything except the oven. The oven didn't work (we wanted to heat up frozen pastry items).
