Turn right at the end of the driveway and you can see the beach access bridge, and an easy 5 minute walk gets you on the beach, especially with new bridges. This Sea Pines vacation rental is centrally located for an easy bike ride to the South Beach Marina Village, Harbourtown, the Sea Pines Nature Preserve or Lawton Stables. Owners rarely use their car once on island. The lot is lovely with lots of big shade trees and is situated on a very large lagoon that feels more like a lake. You can practically step right into the sweet backyard pool from the living space! This original 4 bedroom, 3 bath home provides a casual, comfortable family vibe making it a great Sea Pines vacation home for your next visit!

There is a original tiled entry with a few steps up to the first floor. On the first floor you have a living room with a raised, tiled fireplace (not for guest use), large flat-screen smart TV, and wall-to-wall sliding glass doors, with additional new seating. The dining room is adjacent and also has large sliding glass doors. Both of these rooms open onto a paved-stone pool deck with lounge chairs, patio dining table that seats 6, and a elevated full view of the lake-like lagoon. There is an outdoor shower (cold water only) and grill. Take the rechargeable bluetooth radio outside or anywhere in the property and play music off any connected device. The compact but useful, fully-equipped kitchen, with cabinets built by original owner, recently opened up to include a bar counter into the dining room. Adjacent to the kitchen is a handy mud room to store all your beach, golf, and summer activity gear, which opens directly onto the front service yard and to the driveway for easy access to store chairs, bikes, etc. Also has full washer and dryer with utility sink On this first floor there is also a quiet, shaded bedroom with a double bed and flat-screen smart TV. This bedroom has a small en-suite bathroom with a tub/shower and handicapped railing, making it ideal for guests with limited mobility. This bathroom conveniently serves the living areas.

Heading up the floating wooden staircase you will immediately notice the original 10’-plus slim-panel windows on the landing, going all the way up to the ceiling of the 2nd floor. This gives both light and original style to the front of the house in original Sea Pines design.

On the second floor there are 3 bedrooms and 2 baths: the primary bedroom has a King bed, large sliding-glass doors onto a small balcony that overlooks the pool and lagoon (enjoy morning coffee on small table and chairs provided), and bathroom with tiled walk-in shower, double-sink vanity, and nice dressing area with its own sliding-glass doors and small balcony. Large smart TV. The other 2 upstairs bedrooms can sleep 8 total, and are perfect for super-flexible sleeping arrangements. The "boys" room has a queen bed and a bunk bed. The "girls" room has a queen and a bunk bed that contains a double bed on the bottom. Both bedrooms have flat-screen TVs, sliding-glass doors that open onto very small balconies, and they share a tiled bath with tub/shower.

Wifi throughout home, Spectrum streaming, all flat panel smart TVs include netflix, amazon and other apps that you can sign into and use. Front driveway with circular entrance is paved with in-bedded shells and can park numerous cars.

About the host

Hosted by Thomas Voekler

Host profile image
Our family bought this home in 2015 after spending many wonderful years vacationing in Sea Pines with our family. We have 3 kids that love to bike, walk and hit the beach. We rarely use our car once on the island. We bike everywhere: Salty Dog, Beach Resort, Harbortown, Lawton Stables, Forest Preserve, even to the grocery store, hardware store and restaurants right outside the Sea Pines gates.

Why they chose this property

This is an original Sea Pines home with unique properties, that allowed a two story home, when only single story home heights were allowed. The built-ins and kitchen cabinets were built by the original homeowner and signed by him. We have tried to keep what we can in our recent renovation of the kitchen. The location is central to all Sea Pines amenities. Walking distance to the beach. On a large lagoon where you can see nightly bird congregations, might see some alligators swim bye (cannot get onto the property with bulkheads and vegetation!) and see the fish jump. Oscar (an osprey) takes refuge in a large pine in the back yard overlooking the lagoon.

What makes this property unique

Smart TV's and Spectrum streaming with many channels included. Roku and Firesticks. Flat panel TVs throughout. Rechargeable bluetooth speaker to take around the property and connect to your device to play your tunes. We are constantly working on this property and have replaced all windows and doors, new roof, new siding, new fencing, primary shower and flooring and opened up the kitchen. We are keeping some of the original touches like the cabinets and tile. Some bathrooms not.yet renovated.
